This was by far the best cornrow service I've ever had. Q was very professional, and she really knows the science of hair growth. She started off with a deep conditioning hair treatment, then dried my hair, and finished with a tight cornrow. The best part is the price was fair and very reasonable. Q can get the job done, every stylist has their own approach I suppose. If you're not a repeat customer every two weeks, you will be gossiped about - with other clients! I'm usually supportive of black businesses, however I just don't go there to get the latest tea on paying customers regardless of what service they get done. It's basic black woman knowledge that you need to learn how to care for your own hair or go get it done by someone else often, Q isn't really informative about preventative styling and maintenance but I assume that's because she wants you to keep coming. It's counterproductive though, I'd rather go to a stylist that can inform me on best practices while also going in for routine maintenance and special occasion styling. I've been coming to Q for a couple of years now. Hands down she is the best hairdresser in town. If you don't believe, go see for yourself. She doesn't just treat you like a client, she treats you like family. She is so accommodating to my busy work schedule, and willing to come in her days off. I gotten a Brazilian blowout and paid Ms. q 290 dollars. She refuse to give me a refund after she know she didn't do the process correctly (please look at my google review and her response to it) she is very very unprofessional.. I'm so impressed with sola salons as a whole, but more specifically Q as a stylist. I know how to treat my hair and often times leave salons feeling like I could have done it better myself. Until Q graced my head. She used the RIGHT products for my relaxed hair, & the proper techniques for relaxer, trim, blow dry, & style. She properly managed her time with me as an appointment and two walk ins. Normally there's something missing like they stylist can do a relaxer but can't cut properly. Or they can style it but they use too many damaging products to achieve straight hair. Not here- she's truly a professional stylist. And she's reasonably priced!
