Boy do I have a story to tell…read more About a year and a half ago , we purchased a Samsung refrigerator from this Lowe's. Thankfully we purchased a 3 year warranty. Sinse purchase, we have had two problems: The first was significant, but was resolved relatively efficiently, when Samsung themselves came for service and had the parts in their truck , the refrigerator was fixed and all was well. This second incident has been a complete fiasco, and has been going on for almost a month. My household has been without a functioning refrigerator for almost one MONTH (only a few days to go). We have lost food. We have had to buy ice, had to cancel on friends and family, and we have been trying to make it work using coolers. When we filed a claim for this current incident, it took almost a week (1 day short of a week!) to have service come check out the refrigerator. The company that was assigned had a technician come out who had no tools on his person, and did nothing to actually investigate what was wrong with it, he just listened to it, and made a decision that it required a specific part. After a WEEK, he was not able to locate the part, so Lowe's ended up having to take that on and they found the part and had it delivered directly to our house, then we had to call to get the technician back out. The same technician came out and did the part replacement, which did NOT fix the problem (surprisesurprise). In fact, the ONE thing that WAS working when he came, stopped working when he left. The refrigerator is NOT functioning. The technician filed a claim stating that the refrigerator is not repairable. We received an email from Lowe's protection, stating that we were going to be receiving a REIMBURSEMENT. Then, the next day, we received another email stating that we are going to be issued a Lowe's Electronic Gift Card. Then this afternoon, A "Refund Card" is emailed. A "Refund Card" is not a reimbursement. "Reimbursement or a replacement product" is part of the service agreement contract. Not receiving a "Refund Card". When I purchase something and it needs to be returned, i get a refund, i provide the original receipt and usually a refund issued to the same payment method that the purchase was made with. Of course , i'm not a consumer attorney and maybe I haven't read all of the fine print , but when a company tells you that they are going to give you a reimbursement for a purchase , I expect an actual refund and not a "RefundCard". Not to mention the fact that because of tariffs , the costs of buying appliances has risen. So now we are locked-in to making another purchase at Lowe's, and we are not happy about it. Unless you're going to Lowe's to buy paper towels, bug spray, possibly paint, it might be okay, but I would definitely err on the side of caution when it comes to purchasing appliances. While I understand that appliances are not made the way they used to, Lowe's is seriously lacking in taking care of their customers. I purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's for my mother a few years ago, thankfully, that too was under warranty, but it was quite a fiasco getting that whole issue resolved. Lowe's is not making it right with their customers. They are not doing the right thing by their customers. They are not taking care of their customers. For having gone almost a MONTH without a functioning refrigerator, this the most ridiculous life experience I have had in a very long time. And THEN, reluctantly, I went to the same Lowe's today to look at refrigerators, and there was not a salesperson or anybody anywhere. We have not been given any options. A replacement would be to bring the same dang model of this refrigerator that is available in your store to our house today so that we can move on from this ridiculous encounter. And maybe that's why there was nobody shopping at Lowe's today and nobody working at Lowe's today. Because Lowe's has abandoned its customers.

This has been my experience: I found a recliner to purchase…read moreat Home Makers Furniture on Bell Creek Road in Mechanicsville. It was about $4K with a $400 after manufacturers warranty plan. The sales manager, Jeff Funk, had me initial in 3 places, and then sign a receipt that stated "if you cancel the order, we keep a 20% restocking fee". He reviewed this fee AFTER I SIGNED EVERYTHING. I heard him imply that this was if I cancelled the order after receiving it if it was not as expected. I asked when the expected delivery would be. He said "2-6 weeks, but most likely 2 weeks." My husband and I are seniors on fixed incomes. I told him this and that it was a huge purchase for us. I found we needed the money for medical reasons and called 7 days later to cancel. He said "You signed a contract so we will refund all but 20%" and " I just received the recliner and have to now pay to keep it in storage". I was very upset and attempted to negotiate 10%. This offer was shot down within 24 hours. I have reported this to the BBB and to my bank who are assisting. This unethical practice violates Section 59.1-200 of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act , Section 16(a) reads: 16. Failing to disclose all conditions, charges, or fees relating to: a. The return of goods for refund, exchange, or credit. Such disclosure shall be by means of a sign attached to the goods, or placed in a conspicuous public area of the premises of the supplier, so as to be readily noticeable and readable by the person obtaining the goods from the supplier. I therefore cannot recommend this company. Buyer beware of non-clear disclosure. NOWHERE IS THIS POSTED IN THEIR STORE, NOR WAS I SHOWN THIS IN WRITING MAKING IT CLEAR TO ME WHAT THE STIPULATIONS WERE BEFORE SIGNING THIS CONTRACT SALES RECEIPT. ***UPDATE JULY 2025*** My credit card co. accepted my dispute and refunded my money, keeping 10% as I requested. Additionally, I was receiving several calls a day from this sales person, finally leaving a detailed message that my bank requested I call him back to settle. When checking with my bank/CC co., they advised me that they told this man to not continue to call me but to work with the bank only. I blocked his calls. Not smart for a smaller business chain to operate in this way. You treat one customer poorly, you lose hundreds more. Out of curiosity, I deep dived further into this brand of sofa. Walmart was selling the exact model--for $2,000 less.
