The experience with Summer is truly wonderful. Her demeanor is kind, loving and she takes her time. I never feel rushed and I always feel amazing during and after the treatment. I would highly recommend her. The best massage in Austin. As a yoga teacher myself she has also helped me with years of misalignement and I am so grateful. Her office is beautiful, serene and she uses wonderful products as well. Thank you Summer for all that you do!

This review is for Summer Greenlees…read more When my wife was wrapping up her first trimester, she sat me down and told me that she'd like to go through childbirth naturally. As a guy, this went against every instinct, noting that I'd prefer a c-section or to be "numbed from the nose down". Understanding that my support for this decision was a must, immediately I told her to find a doula. Soon later, my wife met with and enlisted Summer Greenlees' help. Her services included [but are not limited to] pregnancy massage, water massage, breathing exercises, aromatherapy and [of course] an active presence in labor & delivery. Fast forward to the third trimester, this is when I met Summer and one of her protégés for the first time. I was immediately struck by Summer's calming presence and uplifting personality-- even her laugh relieves tension! A few weeks later was our due date, but we had that time to practice techniques as a couple in preparation. I'd also like to note that while natural labor is encouraged as the ultimate goal, Summer both understands and acknowledges that epidurals and the like are additional tools in our belt rather than great evils or instruments of failure. When finally in the labor & delivery room, Summer was there from the first moments, setting the stage with calming music, scents that had already shown to calm my wife, foot & shoulder massage, etc. As labor intensified and I locked up with anxiety, she helped to include me with suggestions of what would be most helpful. Without her, I most likely would have remained isolated and closed off when my wife needed me the most. Whatever I paid Summer for her services, I assure you that it was worth much more than that just to have her there. If not for Summer and April (who was present and instrumental in the final stretch of delivery), I would not be able to look back at that moment with fond memories. Their calming energies and positivity helped my wife succeed physically and me emotionally. Getting a doula is a good decision. Choosing Summer makes it a great one.

The aerial silk classes are not too hard for beginners and the instructors do a great job of explaining the steps needed to get to each move. The regular yoga classes are awesome and the studio is gorgeous and relaxing. The instructors add in sound bath during the meditations at the end, which is really nice. Highly recommend for both beginners and more advanced students, it is an awesome studio!

I began taking Pilates at Pilates Center of Austin after a few weeks of uncomfortable back pain,…read morewhich I have dealt with off-and-on for years. I began with Ivy, who was amazing. She combines her excellent training with all kinds of great examples that really help me to visualize the smallest adjustments to make the most of my work. I felt so much better than I had in years, so I began taking classes 2x a week, during which time, I was able to meet and experience several different teachers. All of them were strong teachers in different ways. I felt so great, that for Christmas, I gave a set of classes to my husband, along with a pair of Pilates socks. Ha. Let's just say that this was not on his wish list. :-) But after one class, he was hooked. And we have been taking classes together ever since. Then when the pandemic hit, PCA turned on a dime, and in no time began to offer virtual classes. And we LOVE them. Because they work even better for our work schedules, we were able to sign up for 3x a week. We take one at 9am, one at 7am, and one at noon. We take classes from 3 different teachers, Ivy, Pia and Marcos, and each is excellent in a different way. So we feel like we are receiving a well-rounded movement regimen every week. We feel healthier, stronger ... and taller!

My favorites are the reformer classes and they've figured out how to incorporate some of those movements into virtual classes. All the instructors are amazing and meet you where you are. Kendall from KAGED Athletics helped me get into the best shape of my life for my wedding last year…read more My BFF in Texas would not stop raving about Kendall's personal training services, so I reached out to her to see if she could help me lose weight and get toned in 9 months (I live in NYC). This woman is such a great listener and was able to tailor meal plans as well as workouts for me remotely. Her response time was almost immediate despite the time difference, and she went above and beyond our contract to make sure I was happy with the results. Her coaching has me living my best life even after our contract was up - looking forward to reaching out to her again for some prenatal fitness guidance!

Looking for an ass kicking-lifting-tightening experience? (Ass kissing is a whole other review,…read moresorry.) A friend of mine recommended I check out Sandy George, a Master Fitness Specialist and Wellness Coach. She's amazing and she's affordable (I'm a musician. If I can do it, you can do it.) An hour session can take place anywhere - I like going to Pease Park, but she'll come to your home or office, too. I don't have to tell you that great exercise leads to a better quality of life/sleep/sex, etc., but I have learned so much about my own body in four sessions with Sandy. My chronic back pain is almost gone due to a few postural changes she suggested (after a full analysis at the beginning of the first session). I'm really picky about body and fitness professionals and Sandy does not waste my time. Sandy doesn't have a website, so give her a call if you're tired of running on a treadmill... or tired of running at all... or tired of reading this review.

Cameron is fantastic!…read more I saw her after doing a big run so I was nice and sore. She took it easy on me (for now) and tailored the workout just to what I needed that day - easy on the legs, hard on the abs. It's great to have an instructor who's flexible, not sticking to the same routine and will create the workout around what you need that day. The facility is in a good location, easy to get to, easy to park at and all of her equipment is in great shape (hah). Cameron is lots of fun, energetic, easy going, but will still give you a good, hard workout - I HIGHLY recommend her!!

I went to the new South Austin location of Evolve Social Wellness today and spent a whopping 4.5…read morehrs there, making myself just feel great. I started off with TriVibe light therapy / psychedelic mind trip (I did the 6 minutes welcome trip and the DMT trancey journey). That blows your mind and you do feel uplifted and bit of a clean high feeling. Then did some cryotherapy compression on my leg. Then I spent probably 2 hours going back and forth between the big social Finnish sauna and the 4 ice plunge tubs (first in the 55 degree one, then the 50 degree one, and 3 times in the one that was 45 degrees). Each time for 3 minutes and then back to the sauna for at least 6 minutes. But at one point we got to experience a fun aroma therapy session in there. The red light therapy was great too...but was boring compared to the big sauna since I had gone alone and could be social in the big one. Once I was getting a little tired, I dried off and went back to the front area which is called the Dry Room. I did the 16 minute massage stretch chair which felt so good. I recommend increasing the 4D value in the settings for it to be more amazing. All the staff and the owner is extremely friendly and I would love for another one of these to open up North closer to me (such as the Domain or North Burnet area). I will definitely be going back and love that they are actively involved with Feel Day another great organization, so I'll also see some of the cool stuff at that festival.
