Mount Regis did what they advertised, just with a mixed bag of a lot of small mistakes or screw ups…read morewith 1 alcoholic being helped. I want to Mount Regis for Medical Detox and rehab for Alcoholism. I worked, but... 1st, the clinical staff were fantastic and very supportive. I got more out of one on one sessions and small group sessions, then large group sessions. Most of the large group topics applied to coping mechanisms and trauma therapy. (Which for me helped very little) 2nd, the food was 3 star cafeteria food, processed meat (mostly chicken) and ok veggies. The cafeteria staff were great (minus 1) you will definitely form a bond with them (ask for Auntie, he will make you day...and yes it's a guy...you'll get it when you meet him) 3nd, Admission and case management. Very sub par. Grant I was there when they just extended number of patients they could hold. But, first going in went well (minus, me starting to detox while speaking with them. Nothing I of them could do about that). But trying to get information, requests in was extremely difficult. Between lack of availability of the staff in discharge planning and getting a go to the person and that person telling you go to the person you already talked to... 4th, Nursing staff, same as the administration staff, but they didn't even seem to care. They acted like, I'm here for a pay check. Overall, I went there to get help, mission accomplished. But I would recommend a smaller facility.

Awful experience. There is a staff relationship that's really inappropriate. Maria Arrington and…read moreTrevor Cooper are together and work together as a counselor and a recovery coach. Definitely unprofessional as they text about other patients private business. And Sharmane Garland violates hippa and gives information out. Also while I was there, there was drugs going around the facility, the boys are shown favoritism, and a nurse gave the wrong meds to the wrong person just because both ladies were in a scooter. Not a safe place.

I came here when I totally lost coordination and feeling in my legs and they went straight to worst…read morecase scenario and eliminated everything on the list until they found the cause. 5 days later I am walking on my own and feel 10 times better overall. The Nursing and Housekeeping staff are fantastic, professional, helpful, overall just good people. (Especially, Holly, RN that works on the 5th floor. She actually had time and actually sat down with me and just talked, nothing medical, just small talk) The doctors are very knowledgeable and good at the specific fields, just wish they had better communication between themselves and their patients.

TITLE: Stay away from them. Honestly, I would give them 0 stars if that was an option…read more I had my daughter break her hand (radius and ulna) and drove her to Lewis Gare ER. It was very stressful and scary for us. After waiting almost two hours in Lewis Gale they said they do not have casting capabilities and said they will transfer her to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. They came with a stretcher, put her on an ambulance and drove her to Carillion 5.7 miles (17 min.). We also told them that our daughter did not hit her head, just broke her arm. We waited 3 h more at Carilion to get the cast done and ended up home around midnight. Couple of months later we get a bill for AMR (American Medical Response) for over $2,400 for the transport of my daughter to Carillion (in the same city). We were not at any point told that a that third party was involved for transport and that the transport is not covered by our insurance. We were not given a chance by Lewis Gale to make an informed decision about transporting our daughter. We could have easily driven my daughter ourselves to the other hospital. We were shocked by this bill and called everywhere to ask for help as we did not have money to pay this bill. Heath Grant, a Patient Safety Advocate at Lewis Gale and his supervisor Laura were not helpful passing the blame for this to AMR and not accepting their responsibility for not informing us that they are scheduling an ambulance transport outside of our insurance coverage. We called our insurance and they said AMR is overcharging for the transport service across the whole U.S. and that they, our insurance, will not pay more than $490 for transport. We sincerely recommend you to avoid Lewis Gale Medical Center as they are sneaky, unprofessional, and unfair, and not willing to accept responsibility for misconduct to us.
