Dr. Dawn Viramontes is by far my favorite optometrist, and best one in town…read more I'm 28 and never in a million years thought that I could get Shingles. Of all places, I got it on my forehead, and eventually in my left eye. I saw my primary physician, and they officially diagnosed me with shingles, but couldn't treat my eye pain besides prescribing anti-viral medication. So, what do i do? I called several optometrists, and they were all booked. I called Dr. Viramontes's Office, and thank god, they were accepting new patients. after all this internal havoc, I can't describe how happy I was that I chose her. She was attentive, caring, and and well-informed on the issue. She prescribed several drops, and mentioned several techniques to reduce the pain. Not to mention, she was totally fine If I called/messaged her during off-hours. When the pain was unbearable, I messaged her during the weekend, and she suggested a few things that reduced the pain. such a great person! I can say that she really cares for her patients. She'll be my main optometrist from now on!

Haven't met the doctor so my review for now will just address the customer service we received at…read morethe front desk. My 8 yr old recently broke his glasses just before he had to go to school. Frame was cracked & one of the lenses popped out. Well, we are new to Oakdale, so based on previous Yelp reviews I decided to go with Dr Patten's office. Great choice! After it was determined that insurance wouldn't cover a 2nd pair of glasses for another year, Dr Patten's receptionist encouraged me to bring my son's glasses to see if they could still use the lenses. We were quickly brought in to the fitting area - we didn't need an exam just the glasses. While my son was trying on glasses Doctor Patten (I assume) walked by us & warmly greeted us. The assistant quickly found an affordable frame ($120) that not only did the lenses seem to fit but also looked great on my kid. We waited maybe 10 min for her to do her magic before she fitted my son again & ensured his new glasses wouldn't wiggle off his face. Considering the warm welcome, the efficiency at solving my son's dilemma while saving me some cash convinced me to revisit them when another family member needs eyewear or an exam.
