The neighborhood was seriously lacking a first class bakery until Jamal opened this place earlier…read morethis year. I come here regularly (couple of times a week) whenever I am in Montreal. Jamal makes absolutely wonderful breads and pastries, and he is very friendly. I really like the texture of the croissants. His pies are pleasantly sweet, which is not too sweet :-) I am particularly a fan of the almond croissant. If you go around 9am, you may get the chance to have it warm, fresh out of the oven. He also makes a delightful short bread that has rosewater in it. There are a few long chairs to sit at the table by the window, where you can enjoy the sunshine in the afternoon. There are more tables inside and outside seating in the summer. They also sell specialty jams and honey.

Gotta love this place! Hands down the best bakery in the neighborhood!…read moreThe bread smells so good that even smelling it is surprisingly satisfying. The coffee is good (they have non dairy milk). The pastry variety is limited and it changes throughout the year; but everything is always fresh. I've bought the most delicious chocolate+coffee cake from him once. The owner is one of the kindest bakers I've met in Montreal and what i love about his baking style is how he keeps it simple and well balanced with a small touch of the east here and there :) never too sweet, never too shiny or bright, never too crunchy and sometimes, if you taste it carefully, with a little touch of rosewater :)

The place has only been open for about 2 weeks or so. I went in this afternoon…read more Not much of a selection.....croissants on the counter, a few different pastries in the fridge and 3 sandwiches (yes, 3). I'm sure once they find a clientele they will have more stuff so we'll give them a little time for that. Very nice little cafe, attractive interior, they have wi/fi, lovely person working there. VERY hot inside with no sign of air conditioning so I won't be spending any time in there this summer. It has a sidewalk with tables but it's not a very nice sidewalk to hang out on (corner of Somerled and Grand). We got croissants and millefeuilles to try - both were very nice. The place is a little pricey for the area but it's a nice place to run into to grab a coffee and a croissant for breakfast.

I went to this bakery and I must say it's a very clean and cozy place. The decor is amazing. They…read morehave a lot of selections of pastries in the morning and they are AMAZING!! The pastries sell out pretty quickly in the morning so if you go late afternoon most of their pastries are sold out. You can't find pastries like these anywhere else for sure!!! Their salades are fresh, I love their tuna and Greek salade. The sandwiches are usually out for lunch time, and they also have pizzas. I work next door so I visit this place at least twice a day when I work. They have free wifi, they only opened three weeks ago and are working on installing an AC. I met the owner, he himself makes all the pastries and cakes! I came to know this bakery is family run, his daughters and son are always there as well. Great customer service indeed! I would highly recommend this place. Their pastries are to die for! And coffees and smoothies are great as well.
