Dr J. is hands down the most accepting, caring, and supportive medical professional I have ever worked with. I've been working with Dr. J for almost 3 months and the X-Rays prove that he has made progress on my neck and back. I also feel a noticeable improvement compared to before working with him. Joanne handles all my insurance and if I ever need to reschedule they are immensely accommodating. They are an incredible team and I am so lucky to have them both. We started with frequent visits for sciatica and now I am on more of a maintenance schedule. One thing I like about his approach is that, while some chiropractors will try to do too much too quickly and will end up overdoing it, he is careful to guide you toward deliberate improvement that is meant to last. Joanne in the office is fantastic to work with and the whole place runs like a well oiled machine. They are easy to communicate with via email or phone call, and it's an office I have been comfortable referring friends to.

After a successful surgery, I began to work with Elaine Crerar, MS, OTR/L at Spear Physical Therapy in their Midtown facility. I am so grateful that I was able to have her skilled oversight and care during a lengthy recovery. I had a few experiences with physical therapists in the past, which were positive, but nothing to compare to the outstanding care I received from Elaine. From my first assessment to the challenging sessions, I felt confident that I was on a path to recovery. Working with Elaine demanded my commitment to a vigorous home exercise regimen. Every session she evaluated my progress, adapted my exercises and routines as I improved, and inspired me to keep working as hard as I needed to in order to achieve my goals. The entire team at Spear is supportive and encouraging. I really felt like they cared about me every step of the way. I was encouraged to set aside the necessary time at home and in my life (in my case frequently on the subway) to realize increased strength and mobility. Elaine was with me so intimately, that I could hear her voice in my head correcting my positioning and encouraging me to work harder. She encouraged me to set small measurable goals so I could gauge my progress. When I finally had reached a point where I was discharged from her care I was worried that my progress would plateau. However, Elaine really motivated me to not give up and to keep working. I was able to realize success by working with Elaine because of her incredible skill, her incredibly warm and caring demeanor , her amazing ability to motivate and her skillful professionalism. I hope I don't need her again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to return to her care. She let me know that I can come back anytime I need to and that I will always be welcomed. I certainly give her my highest recommendation, and hope you never need her. But if you do, a better choice you cannot make.

I am very grateful knowing that she is there when needed. From the front desk where you are greeted by name, to the team that works on the floor, this is a professional, positive place. Tim and Kara who assist on the floor are truly, caring people. Going to therapy has it's own challenges, but when everyone is supportive everything works. Thank you Spear West 57th St!! Kathy Hickey

I am writing this review out of genuine disappointment and concern regarding the business practices…read moreat Central West Dentistry, as I paid for services that were not delivered as described. I returned to this practice in August 2025 specifically because of my past positive experience with Dr. Martin, who had always been sensitive to my severe dental anxiety. For my August appointment, booked for a cleaning, exam, and X-rays, I confirmed in advance that I required nitrous for the entire visit along with Valium. Instead, I was met with repeated pressure from a hygienist I had never met before about "concerns" with my teeth and gums, even though Dr. Martin had already examined me and said everything "looked good." The hygienist left mid-appointment to discuss insurance coverage with the office manager, leaving me waiting. When I asked to proceed with the cleaning I originally booked, she turned the nitrous off, switched to oxygen and I ultimately left without the full service. Because I care deeply about my dental health, I later scheduled Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing for today, the deep cleaning their hygienist recommended. I was told it would take two hours to complete all four quadrants and cost roughly $350 per quadrant. I prepaid nearly $2,000 and confirmed, in writing, that I required nitrous for the entire appointment and did not want any upsells mid appointment. Despite receiving multiple confirmations (two emails, three calls, and a text), the experience again fell far short. I flew into NYC specifically for this appointment and timed my anxiety medication with the appointment time to ensure treatment would go smoothly. When I arrived early at their request, the hygienist attempted to rush me into treatment before the nitrous had taken effect, contradicting their claim of understanding dental anxiety care. Then I was told I would receive injections to numb my entire mouth, something never mentioned during the booking process, not listed online in the procedure description, and not disclosed in any of our prior conversations. I declined and requested standard numbing gel. The "two-hour" Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing began at 4:02 pm and ended at 4:32 pm, 30 minutes total. Literally. I was then told the reason was simply, "Your teeth are in such good shape." This is especially concerning given that four months earlier, I was told (during a basic cleaning) that my gums were in such poor condition they needed to stop mid-appointment to verify insurance approval for a deep cleaning. Yet now, after paying cash upfront, all four quadrants were completed in just half an hour. It feels inconsistent at best, and at worst, like a bait-and-switch situation. I also paid $215 for nitrous oxide. Based on the photo I took, the machine displayed 60% nitrous / 30% oxygen. At no point did I feel the typical physical effects one would expect--especially when combined with a prescribed sedative. It raises the question of whether the nitrous tank was empty or improperly administered. I've had nitrous EVERY dental appointment for 20 years - i know how I'm supposed to feel, I repeatedly said nothing was coming and I was fully alert, yet another scam. To summarize, I paid nearly $2,000 for: * A two-hour Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing that lasted only 30 minutes * Four quadrants of scaling, when realistically only one or two may have been addressed * Nitrous oxide that did not appear to be delivered as represented * An exam I was told was required, yet I never saw the dentist at all. Oh and on my statement, it stated I received an Ibero scan - never happened and the receptionist said, well you weren't charged for it. LOL. I am requesting reimbursement for the nitrous charge, two of the four quadrants, and the exam fee. Patients have choices in dental care. If a practice advertises expertise in treating dental anxiety, the staff should be trained to actually deliver on that promise. Unfortunately, my experience demonstrated the opposite.

The first time I came I was bent in half with a back spasm. I did not get "boiler plate" help like heat and ultra sound which never worked. Instead I got some hands on treatment and instruction on several exercises. This worked dramatically! Next we tackled some problems with my mid-back and upper back to correct the damage done by focusing on electronic devices. My posture has improved to a remarkable extent. Now we are working on my feet (which a podiatrist told me could not be helped) and I am noticing a dramatic improvement. We are also working on my balance in a novel and creative manner. Therefore, with all this experience, I am confident in recommending Cynergy for whatever ails you. This treatment worked where chiropractic and acupuncture had failed dismally. I also cannot say enough good things about the staff at the front desk. Roberta has "gone the full mile" helping to arrange appointments to suit my limited availability. In sum, I have no hesitation in recommending Cynergy and have already sent a few friends who are as satisfied as I am.
