Ben killed it. I've never ever had a nail tech put that much care into my nails before in my life. He was so kind, gentle on my cuticles (which often get cut up at nail salons), and smoothed these down perfectly. They look so feminine and cute! I left glitter choice up to him and he picked such a fitting glitter (rose gold). He is such a perfectionist and it shows! $85 for the full set and a classic pedicure with polish (not pictured but also adorable). Walked in and seen right away but, not even a 'welcome in', but 'go sit there.' Then manicure seating is back to back, awkward trying to get to booth 6. Nail tech smiled twice, once when a sat down and when I left. Didn't ask what I needed done. Everything I did she would roll her eyes, don't dare bring in a smoothie and use the hand she is not working with to grab your drink. All was downhill from there, using just three cotton balls she let my fingers tinted in red, removed most of it but index and middle finger on right hand (see photo). Then, had me soak my hand in very cold water. Used rounded tip Dremel rather than push back cuticles! Didn't clean under my nails at all! Didn't moisture until nails were almost dry, so no hand or arm massage. Then had me cross hands and dry under a fan with explicit instructions to not touch my drink! I thought I once did a 5 star review for this place. If not, I have experienced a 5 star pedicure here but what I experienced on my birthday was the worst I have ever paid for in my life. Fortunately, it did not otherwise ruin the weekend. It was the first time that I had no gel polish to be removed from the previous pedicure which was the Volcano spa treatment with paraffin wax or something. I was delighted with that one and the technician was very pleasant. That was 6 months ago, lol. I have a hard time sitting that long for a pedicure even though I like the results. I'm getting old, it was my 50th birthday so no age shade is directed at this technician. I don't recall if she was wearing glasses, at this age I certainly need them for reading/seeing fine details. She was the oldest technician I have ever received a pedicure from. After filing the tub, she turned the hot water back on until the temperature was scalding. I said something when it started to overflow. She also turned on the water for my daughter who was in the chair next to me. She remove her feet from the tub and alerted the lady of the temperature. This was followed by a shoddy and brief exfoliating process that was also quite painful, as was the trimming/shaping process leading to the color application, which was the most time-consuming of my entire life. I ended with a color other than the one I selected, nail polish on the side of my toe, applied thickly to my nails to the point of being chunky and uneven. Near the cuticle of each big toe, it's especially uneven/rough. My daughter was also getting the longest pedicure of her life that was more mediocre than outright terrible they started hers when mine was almost finished even though we had appointments. As we both had other plans, there was no point in complaining or asking for a redo. I'm usually a more passive-aggressive complainer. I won't usually complain in the moment but will take the time to write a detailed account of things after the fact but only when absolutely warranted. Instead I felt thankful that this time I only requested "the classic," which is the least expensive. Also, I'm a sucker and only on very limited occasions won't tip a person. I tipped $10 based on relief that the pain was finally over. This is not a pedicure that I can live with for six months. Again, not that I mean to do that, I struggle to find time to make myself. (Usually it is pleasant except I never want anyone to look into my eyes during the massage part because that is awkward.) read more

Usually easy to get an appointment. They have a lot of choices for nails. My go to salon as it is close by. But last time the technician used a grinder on my cuticle. She totally ruined my nail bed and now that the ridge is growing out there are weak spots on the nail tip. This is NOT OK! read more

One woman was told it would be 30 minutes and yet there were people not working and could have finished with her in time for their appointments. I wrote a review a week ago complaining about my nails, I didn't know how to add to review, but wanted to add to it. it was so horrible, a week later my nails are purple around the cuticle and have had two breaks at not a normal area. her tool took my nails down so low that they are very thin. No wonder they hurt so bad when I left. My nails are breaking at a painful spot. This place is horrible. Now I have to pay for someone to help me keep them from breaking like this. I'm so beyond upset. my previous post said it was not a normal manicure. please save your money and do not go here. never had a manicure where everything was just done with the machine. no soaking, no trimming, just the lazy person tool. read more

I've been here about 5 times. Three out of those 5 times Nancy did my nails, and they turned out great. But the first time and this last time Andy did them and not only grinded the nail beds down to almost nothing but painted them horribly where I had to specifically ask him to my obviously messy nails. I'm just really disappointed that they continue to have him do nails. No other way to say it. I now am left with this. Yes, I'm trying to grow my nails, but they were strong and finally longer after Nancy was doing them, and ground down again now.... I was given a couple dollars off but since him doing this 2 days ago, this is how they broke off and more are about to rip. I've been here a couple times. My last appt was the final straw. I made an appointment a few days in advance over the phone for 5:30PM on a weekday. I called to tell them I was running 5 min behind. They said that's fine. When I got there, she was already starting on some one else's nails! I didn't actually get started until 6:30pm!! Like really? I should have just left. Then she had this one guy who was learning to do nails start my nails because she wasn't done yet. He didn't put enough glue on the nail tips. When he filed my nail beds for a new set, he was going too hard and started burning my nail beds. It stung so bad. I had to teach him how to cut each nail the same length.... By the time I all was done, it was 7:30pm. Again, my appointment was at 5:30pm that they apparently didn't write down or decided to over book. Very mediocre salon with poor products. There were maybe 5 OPI polish bottles and polish colors were super disorganized and hard to find. Gel selection bin is not labeled with brands. Also pretty unhappy with my gel manicure. They did not push back my cuticles, and polish was not at the bottom of my nail. Gel is also very lumpy. "Deluxe" pedicure did include parafin wax, but other than that was very average. Staff didn't seem too concerned about making sure I was comfortable. Overall just not a great experience. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Booked an appointment for acrylic nails two weeks in advance (just before leaving for my honeymoon) and was beyond disappointed. Destroyed my actual nails by completely filing through my nail beds on the sides so they were raw and bleeding. Had to redo the nails immediately because they were extremely thick and she blamed it on me wanting French tips, saying the bulk was due to multiple layers of polish. I told her a solid color would be fine after she drilled off the tops again because at that point I'd been there 1.5 hours and had another appointment to get to. When I came back later upset and still in pain I had to argue to get a refund, they claimed my visibly bleeding and destroyed nail beds were from a hang nail. She said they would soak off the nails for me but I didn't want to soak bleeding skin and drilled nail beds in acetone and cause further damage. Further, they have treated my children so well in doing their kids pedicures and making sure they like the designs they pick. Wasn't busy at all, I believe I had Deana as my nail tech and unfortunately she was very rude. Seemed like she didn't care and rushed. Didn't let me pick my gel color before we started so I was trying to look while she was starting my nails. They're uneven and gel polish was left around my nails. A couple of my nails have the wrong size acrylic. She also filed my nails after the polish was put on causing it to come off as seen in the pictures. I never go out of my way to write a bad review, but I'm really not happy since I only get my nails done for events and they're done so poorly. Overall pretty disappointed for $50 nails. read more

The location is perfect but the parking is a bit tight. Cleanliness and organization were very obvious which made a pedicure even more enjoyable. I will say this place felt clean and friendly. Took my father in law in. Unfortunately I would say whoever did my pedicure was a sadist. She dug and rooted around my big toenails cleaning up skin I believe. But left me bleeding and a day later my big toes are still hurting pretty bad. Outside of that the pedicure was ok. My father in law asked for a little bit more focus on his feet for his neuropathy and instead they just lightly massaged his legs. Won't be back. Yesterday on 6/13/20 I went to get my eyebrows waxed around 5:30pm (I had called ahead and asked if it was ok to come around that time close to closing) at VIP Nails & Spa and they ripped some of my eyelashes out on my right eye. For full transparency on what happened here is some context: I was cleaning up my eyebrows and it wasn't looking like I wanted so I decided to get them waxed instead and tried VIP nails for the first time. I got there and proceeded to get my eyebrows done. While they were doing the inner/under part of my right eyebrow I felt the waxing paper near my eyelid and when it was pulled it my eyelash line stung but the technician quickly applied pressure to the area. If you have ever gotten your brows waxed, you know the inner part typically hurts the most so I figured it was that and continued. When they were done I remarked my eyebrows weren't even, maybe due to when I was cleaning them up at home, and the technician looked at them closer and remarked that that was the best she could do until they were to grow back. Fair enough, and I mention this because she had a close look at my eyes and this should have been the point she told me she ripped out some of my eyelashes. They didn't though, and since it was closer to closing I left with my eye stinging. A few minutes later I looked at the mirror to see what was hurting, thinking maybe the wax pulled my skin or something and saw that I was missing eyelashes. I tried calling the salon at 5:49 and continued for several minutes but they never answered. Today I went back and asked to speak to someone about what happened. When I told them what happened they tried to deny it, and said that there was nothing missing or it wasn't like that yesterday when they finished. I insisted and said I took pictures right after which I attached to this review. They were being kind of rude and dismissive about it and finally asked "what you want your money back?". I did get $10 (out of $15 because of tip) but I got no apology and they pretty much pushed me out. No apology, no acknowledgment of what they did, and unfriendly/kind behavior when I brought up the issue. I was polite and I wasn't trying to make a scene or anything. It has left me feeling more upset. $10 is not worth 2/3 of my eyelashes missing. Wrote on google review too. read more

I've been to this Nail salon about 5 times. I will not go there any longer. Andy, a nail tech had significantly cut through my skin not once but on two separate occasions with the Dremel tool. They say they are sorry... but I have to feel that pain of healing burnt skin for four or five days. I always do Dip, and The last set of nails has pits and divits on them. They are also really thick and look like paddles. He had trouble shaping them and got assistance from someone. I just wanted square/ oval shaped and was not asking for anything special. After spending a ton of time just getting the shape right... I didn't want to fight about how thick they were. My guess is , is that Andy might be a newer tech and is still learning .... but when you pay $40 for a set... you expect a decent job... not an okay job. I frequented this place because it was very close to my home, but I will go back to Blue Sky in a heartbeat. *****Most important ...Im not sure what sanitary practices they follow...He didn't throw away the dremel tool bit that had my blood on it. I can't say enough good things about this place! It is so clean and nice and you can really tell they take pride in their work and business. I have never had a bad experience and have been in often (I have a very hard time believing any negative reviews on her since everyone there has been insanely polite and accommodating every time I've been in).
