This is a great sports bar to catch a game, fights or to hangout to shoot some pool. They have foosball, air hockey and other cool arcade games! A bit crowded and pricey for playoff game nights. Will be back on a regular night! Nachos are good and recommended (Parking can be tricky since its down the street from Little Italy) read more

VIP Billiards & Lounge - Cosmo - Pool Halls Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Good place to hangout and play with your friends not too crowded just perfect C

Great service, kind people, nice atmosphere to hang out with friends in. Would definitely visit this place more often if prices were a bit lower though! read more

Music excessively loud, the wings we ordered were not very good honestly, and above all, they charge $25 for the use of a pool or ping pong table for 1 hour.... Like if it wasn't enough with the prices.. don't recommend it, we went to have a good time and play pool, we ended up not even playing pool... read more

Looks a bit dive-y from the outside, but nice on the inside. A seating/bar area and separate room for pool and ping pong. Service was good, no craft beer. Didn't get any food. Just had beer and played pool. They will not split the bill on the tables, even if it's just 2 people. Kind of annoying, but there's an ATM, if you want. I'd go back to play pool tho! The food looked pretty good too! read more

This is a pool hall with a vibe of a dive bar. I've had mixed experience with drinks (beer that had clearly gone off, but they were happy to replace it). If you're not here to play pool or snooker, you're probably better off elsewhere. They have one snooker table, and a bunch of pool tables, both priced at $15/hour. This is a bit too expensive for pool, but a reasonable price for snooker. They do, however, charge for the full first hour (e.g. if you only want to play for 30 min, you'll have to pay for the full hour), which is not great. I'd also expect better quality of equipment from a proper pool hall - the snooker table is not precisely balanced, there are holes in the canvas, and the cue sticks feel a bit strange (it's hard to tell why, maybe they're too light?). read more

My go-to place for a game of pool with friends. Prices are average for a billiard hall. $10/hour and it's not bad of a price if you split the bill between a group of 3 or 4. The hourly rate is cheaper when you go before 5. I believe it's about $8 instead of $10. It's usually a younger crowd, mainly post secondary students since its close by Ryerson. They do have specials for every day of the week. Such as a pitcher of beer with a 1lb pound for about $25. The food looks appetizing and it certainly is. I've tried their nachos there with my girlfriends and we couldn't stop eating it! The place does look sketchy at first but when you make your way down the stairs and get pass that horrible smell from the entrance, you'll see a really dimmed and comfortable pool hall. I must say some of their cue sticks are a bit crusty and it's time for a replacement... Hopefully they will get that done soon. Some of their tables as well... Lastly, for the ladies beware that the washrooms are quite dirty.. I've seen wastes not fully flushed down and toliet paper on the ground in the stalls. This is because some ladies don't care to hold the flush a bit longer until everything goes down.. A couple of months back they were closed for renovations however, nothing really changed. They should really put some money into the ladies toliet, some of their cue sticks and tables. read more

VIP Lounge & Billiards is my favourite pool hall in the city (downtown that is, not including anything west of Dufferin and east of Parliament). It's a large venue, they have over twenty pool tables as well as a few snooker tables. It's underground, and has the feeling of a dank, dive pool hall, with none of the issues that come with that sort of establishment. Right on the corner of Yonge and Gerrard, it's easy to get to, and often busy, even during the week. The location itself is clean and well maintained, they have a full service bar from which you can order, or wait for a server to come to you while you're playing a game. You can find many racks of cues throughout the place, but a lot of the cues seem to be dented, scratched, and unusable. This is to be expected from a public pool hall, but it seems like a good chunk of them are like this. You can, of course, bring your own cue. I'm not entirely sure if VIP is host to any pool leagues, but I've seen plenty of professional looking players throughout my many trips to this place. The price is reasonable for a downtown Toronto location; $10/hour for non-members, $9/hour for members. Membership is $20/year, and the dollar you save is well worth it if you're a frequent player. The tables are not coin operated, and to get a table you will need to leave a piece of ID to prevent you from skipping out on the bill. Drinks (and food) are also charged to the table this way. The server staff is usually quick and accurate, but on extremely busy nights you may wait a while, or you might have to call someone and remind them of your order, or check in on things. The food is as you'd expect, albeit slightly higher priced than other nearby spots. Another reviewer mentioned that the tacos were tepid and bland, which is occasionally true; the food is very hit and miss, on what I can only assume is based on who the people are in the kitchen on that particular night. Aside from pool, VIP Lounge & Billiards has a fairly large seated section, with tables and a few couches. You can watch TV (usually sports), chat, relax. They have board games which you can borrow and play (no fee, as long as you order a drink, and ID is also required to get a board game). They carry the basics, like Scrabble and Monopoly, and I'm not sure what other games they have. In one corner of the room they have a punching bag machine (drop in a loonie, see how hard you can hit the bag). In the hall adjacent to the hall leading to the washroom, you'll find a row of seating if you want to get away from the noise, as well as a foosball table. For music, they have a jukebox, otherwise a pre-set playlist will play throughout the bar. They play almost every genre of music, as I've heard everything except country, and there seems to be no order to how it plays; rap followed by rock followed by pop followed by reggae. For the location and price, VIP Lounge & Billiards is a great place to go. And if you enjoy the experience, I recommend you get a membership as you leave for the night, because if you're a fan of that kind of atmosphere at all, you WILL be back. read more

I really like this place, today was my first time there and I will definitely go back, the bartender is very nice and I spoke with her a few times while having drinks with my friend, she has thick framed black glasses and wavy hair, talk with her and tip her well :) The place has many tables plus foos ball, air hockey, and alot of ping pong tables as well. The cocktails were also made well by the chill bartender chick. Be careful you don't play for hours and not realise, I didint notice 2 hours had passed, I thought it was only one hour we played, with drinks, food and pool if can get to be expensive here. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed with low lighting and a pretty decent amount of seating. read more

Tables are overpriced, the music is so loud you can't really have a conversation, the food is overpriced and oh boy the hamburger patties are some D-Grade army leftover shit. Also, if you're given a pool table near the ping pong table them you *will* be having people interrupt your game every three minutes to fetch their ball. But you can buy a membership! read more

VIP is a decent pool hall located downtown near Yonge and Gerrard. As for as pool halls goes, this is a not too shabby joint and as far as rates go they're reasonable -cheaper than Rivoli if I remember correctly. There are plenty of pool tables around (good for groups!), drink service is quick and there's a jukebox for further entertainment. However the last time I was here-nobody was putting any money in so unfortunately our music selection for the evening went all over the map from Metallica to soft 80's ballads. A wise tip to any pool goers here would be to avoid ordering food here, stick with the booze. Chicken wings and fries are nothing to sneeze at and they have the saddest plate of beef nachos! For $12.99 you get a tepid plate with tostitos, a meagre sprinkle of cheese, sour cream and dingy salsa and finally-what looks and tastes like some rank chopped up bits of hamburger patty. You'd be better off eating at the doner place up on the street. So yeah stay away from the food here and stick to the beer and pool playing. read more

I went in on a Monday night and it was a pleasurable experience. Tables cost about 20 dollars/ hour (tax included). They don't warn you when your hour is up so keep an eye out or it will be 30c a minute. Had a great time. Check it out! read more

This is a pretty cool place to come and shoot pool and get a couple cheap drinks by Ryerson University. And because its so close to the university you can expect the college crowd to roll through here in numbers. They pack a lot of these 7 foot (I think) tables in one half of the building. These are not 6 foot bar tables - you will have a bad day if you are expecting to slam them in like at bar tables. They provide cues, but they are a bit beat up and you should still bring your own if you can. And I do like that they assign tables and try to spread people out as well, considering they do pack a lot of tables in one area. This is the go to place for shooting pool in the area, most other bars that I saw only have one table or so to shoot at. I will be coming back considering how cheap it is and its close proximity to so many other bars in the area. read more

If you're looking for a good place to play a game or two of billiards or table tennis then this is the place to be! Even though it's located relatively close to the Toronto core, I can always manage to snag a table. This is most likely because the place blends very well with the other stores along Yonge that I still time to time miss the entrance. Upon entry you're greeted by this distinct smell and you proceed to head down the flight of stairs to the main door where you must wait for a bartender to buzz you in (it's usually instantly). Just in case you're wondering, the escalator in the room prior never works so don't waste your time wondering. Anyways, whats great about VIP is that it doubles up as a bar with delicious greasy pub fare. Anyone looking for a food challenge can attempt to take on the 24 patty burger. Eat it within a certain time frame and it's free (30 minutes I think). This place also offers great daily specials. Overall, this place should not be overlooked when looking for a place to drink and/or kill a couple hours with your buddies over a game of pool. This is most definitely a hidden gem in downtown Toronto. read more

My friend and I stopped by here for a drink and weren't disappointed. The bartender was friendly. For drinks, my friend got a blue hawaiian and I got a tequila sunrise. Her drink was 1oz of alcohol and mine was a 2oz. They were both about $7 each. We also got the pornstar shooters (blue curaçao and raspberry sour puss mix) which were also $7 each. We played a couple games of air hockey which was fun. We went on a Tuesday night so it was pretty quiet but I can imagine this would be a fun place on the weekend. I would go back! read more

This place should be permanently closed as they're building a condo in that area. Just an FYI. Maybe visit the Annex Billiards or Rivoli for pool tables. read more

Half is a bar/dining area, half is the pool section. They have 22 tables but I thought they were a bit too close together. Rate is $10/hour with a discounted rate before 5pm. They bill by the minute. Make sure at least one person in your group brings ID. They also have stuff like ping pong ($15/hour), foosball, and a boxing machine. Food tasted good but it's too expensive for the portions you get. They have a special almost everyday so you might want to take advantage of those. They also have a burger challenge deal where if you finish a 10-patty burger in 30 mins it's free. Otherwise it's $25. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was nice. I see myself coming back, but just for the pool. read more

Nice ambience to hang out for a game of billiards/pool. Service is very efficient, as orders were picked up and drinks/food were served really quickly even as I was playing pool with my friends. There is a lot of customers so there was a little wait time, but it was worth it. read more

Great music and fun vibe. Servers were nice and we received a table quickly. There was a imited drink menu but there are great drink specials. read more

A very relaxed place to play pool that doesn't expect too much from you. Prices for tables are good and all the equipment in nice condition. Beer and liquor is pretty expensive, so drink somewhere before you go. would recommend this place! read more

If you are looking for a casual place to play pool that won't cost you an arm and a leg, inexpensive beer and drinks with a basic inexpensive menu, then VIP Billiards is the place. Every time I visit Toronto, my brother and I play pool at the VIP. The is not a Dooley's, but the price is not a Dooley's also. The staff are very friendly, tables and equipment maintained and the price is awesome. For all you students, they have student specials. I recommend VIP Billiards! Good job! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at VIP lounge. The food was terrible and the smell of the place is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very rude unprofessional staff. The only advantage is the location. And also very limited beer collection. The two brown Sri Lanki dudes at the games disk are very aggressive and can start a fight and have no sense of accommodation. read more

After I dined at Sushi Tower with my partner in crime. We decided to play some pool to burn off some calories from that sushi jks jks. At first the venue seems sketch because you dont really see anything inside but once you open the heavy glass door, you see a set of steep stairs and a non working escalator. On the left side you have the front desk lady who you order your table from, she will ask for a piece of government ID before you get anything. In the evenings, its $10 an hour, and afternoons its $6. There's about 20+ tables. On the right side, you have the washrooms and the bar. We got table 9. There was about 10+ people in this underground pool table. Within the hour, we played a few games, my friend won LOL shes way more experienced. We also got a pitcher of Heineken for $20. This is a convenient. fun place to shoot some balls. read more

I really believe that any place should forwarn you if their visa/debit machine is not working. We were told this AFTER playing our game of pool, and essentially forced to use their ATM machine to pay our bill. I haven't used an ATM in almost a decade; I hate being charged to take out money. I also feel that this place has gotten more expensive than it was in the past. The tables and equipment are good, so if you don't care about how much you spend, it's still a good place to play pool. For at least the time being however this place will be losing my business. read more

Been here a few times and I love it! Cheap drinks and the wait for a table isn't all too long even on a saturday night. Tried a 'Crispy Crunch' shot for the 1st time and had to have another. It's worth the mission if your not from the area, as I am from Etobicoke =) read more

I've had good times here but they told me they lost my ID and that's not ok. Your group is asked to leave 1 ID while you play, so I let them hold my license. I did forget to collect it when we were done playing and returned another day. They told me that they didn't have it. I figured that perhaps I put it in a different purse, though don't recall doing so. I searched everywhere twice before deciding to go back again. The manager or supervisor told me that it wasn't there and I insisted that they check again. After some time they returned with it. Lesson learned: don't like to carry more than you need and leave important documents like your passport at home. read more

Went to VIP twice i thougt it was good. The nachos were great. If you're a high school student, you'll probably encounter new friends... Seriously, early Friday evenings it's a clash of Jansport backpacks. Grateful for the "no minors after 10:00" policy... Good food, clean bathrooms, and I dig the ambiance. Never met any creeps haha. Took off a star because sometimes the music really sucks, and the volume is blasted up. read more

I think the 3.5 star average is just about right. The tables are a bit threadbare but at only $10 per hour it is hard to complain. Beer was well-priced and service was good. The atmosphere was what you'd expect for a basement bar on Yonge street, but if you want to shoot a few games of pool, you could do a lot worse. read more

I actually felt compelled to sign-up for a Yelp account just so I could review this place after the customer service received from the female on cash. We came because a few of the people in my group had been here previously and recommended this place. We arrived as a group of 14 around lunch time and as promised the food was fairly decent for its price ($5.75 for anything before 5:00 p.m.- I ordered a pound of wings & fries) and the rate for the tables were also ideal. The food didn't arrive until 50 minutes later after we ordered, but that could be understandable since we came in such a large group. The overall experience was great up until the point at which we had to pay- hence me adding that extra star. It wasn't the fact that she refused to split the bill, even though my colleagues have visited previously in a large group and had the bill split before with no problem. She stated that it was a new policy (we were not informed of this policy upon arrival) and that the maximum amount of credit card transactions she could do was 5. Otherwise, we should pay in cash or use the ATM if we want the bill split. At this point, we asked if she could divide the total table cost by 14 and each pitcher of beer by 3, to which she agreed. After ringing through more than half the group, she informed us that she hadn't actually charged us for the tables yet because when she asked individuals what they wanted to pay for, they only specified the food and drink. She said she could divide it up all at the end and we could pay her again. She also split the pitchers of beer incorrectly so some of us paid for double the amount for beer and some didn't pay at all. However due to her 5 card restriction rule, some of us couldn't pay her again and in the end one person had to end up paying for the pool tables. Now I understand there could have been some miscommunication leading her to become confused, BUT THEN she was overheard complaining to her co-worker about how she wasn't going to sit there for hours and do all these card transactions for all these people. So the question is, does this policy just exist or was she just too lazy to go through with the transactions because honestly after all that, it probably took longer for her to wait for us to use the ATM, re-divide bills etc. than it would have for her to just accept card payments. TLDR: Good experience until we had to pay. Refused credit payment for large group/didn't notify us of this "policy" beforehand, split bill incorrectly and then complained about how she really just didn't want to sit there and go through multiple transactions. read more

Pool prices were $0.20 per minute = $12 an hour. We weren't able to order food while playing pool or we were told we would still be charged per minute, so we had to bring the balls back and go sit in the lounge area to order and wait for our food. 3 friends got burgers that were a bit dry and one received a burnt bun and burger. Wings were hard to chew and very dry, but the sauce was good. The washrooms were dirty, super cold, and the sinks looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in a while. Service was mediocre and one waitress seemed as if she really didn't want to be there. Halfway through our meal the management apparently received a 'call' of people coming in and switched off the music and put on the ball game, which I found a bit odd but didn't mind. In the end we were told to pay separate bills we had to go up to the cash, and there we were told we could only pay with one credit card per table, and had to pay cash for the rest of the 2 transactions. Never have I had a place do this, unless you have a huge party and you will be told beforehand, not afterwards. No ATM in sight either. In the end, checked the receipt and found that we were charged $0.10 for extra ketchup that was brought in a tiny container!! I have never been charged for ketchup before. Needless to say, we all agreed once we saw what the food looked like that we will not be coming back here to eat. read more

Ended up at the VIP Billiard Club after eating at Burrito Boyz and watching the Jays game. Showed up just for a few drinks and to visit some friends. Walking downtown, it is kind of hard to spot with all the lights from the multitude of strip clubs surrounding the place, but once you enter it is a surprisingly big for the small entrance. You walk down some stairs and there is a seating area and a bar for anyone that does not want to play pool. To your left there is an entire space dedicated for pool and table tennis. I was immediately greeted by a server when I walked in and saw my friends. I asked for a pitcher of Canadian and it showed up a fair amount of minutes later, but nothing terrible. Had the beer and asked for the tab to be separate from my friends. At the end of the night, and a few drinks later, the bill was brought to us, but the bill was not separated. Nothing terrible, but just a small annoyance. The server was probably swamped anyways. The service was fair, the area was fun, and a good experience all around. I wouldn't specifically go downtown for VIP Billiard Club, but it was fun to go to for a change. read more
