I'm so glad that I stopped in as I found a rare Tank And The Bangas album that I had never seen before and it was well below the price in Discogs so I had to pick it up ! The overall layout of the shop is different from what I remember and overall the number of new releases available was surprising. Street parking on Lighthouse Ave was easy and didn't require feeding a meter which was nice.

It's a smash burger, super simple, and just insanely good. Brendan is an incredible chef (ever heard of Poppy Hall? ) and you can tell he really knows what he's doing. I went in on a Sunday during the day and a trivia game was being hosted at the time. Majority of the records were used and at reasonable prices. Had a nice chat with Jeremy who was working in the record shop area and he mentioned that the business started out as a record store offering a few drink options and over two years expanded into what it is today. What a unique place to hangout in Pacific Grove ! Will be back when I'm in town again for sure.

Having lived in Monterey some years ago and in town for the jazz festival, I wasn't familiar with the shop and especially in this location as it's a pass through to get on highway one and you could easily pass by it without notice. I didn't see any used records here but there was a large selection of the usual music genres stocked - jazz, r&b, rock, etc.. Having checked out many shops in the area I would say that this shop has the largest selection of new vinyl available on the peninsula.

This place is by far my favorite antique store in the Bay Area, as its 21,000+ sq ft of floor space and two floors are occupied by over 100 different merchants selling everything from modern art and jewelry to old toys and abundant knickknacks. The only issue with this place is the parking situation, which can be a bit of a hassle, especially on weekends. Fortunately, it's a bit removed from the more popular Cannery Row area and on the opposite side of the Aquarium, so while it may be difficult, it's not impossible. Otherwise, come forth and feast your eyes on the treasures to behold. Just make sure you give yourself at least two hours to take it all in, or you're going to miss out on some interesting finds.

Downtown Santa Cruz, definitely needs to keep this store around I know Santa Cruz wants to tear everything down and build apartments everywhere it seems. I always raid their movies section, because I still collect physical media and I'm NOT on board with streaming, I never leave streetlight empty handed. The best part? NONE OF THIS IS CRAZY EXPENSIVE! I left the store with four movies, I could've easily got more but I decided to get the HELL OUT OF THERE before my wallet took a huge dive. I particularly like this record store more than Redwood because of the large variety of music genres. I saw how they had some of my dad's favorite bands like REM and carried older albums of my favorite artists. My boyfriend and I were able to score an old Lil Wayne album as well. Rare to see so many new-to-me international, jazz, prog and reggae records in one place. City pop, Afropop, Brazil, dub, ambient... killer 7 inch and cassette sections. Dozens of records for sale (that took me years to find scouring Bay Area and L.A. stores) and at some of the lowest prices. Easy to make a fine day trip of record shopping, with Redwood Records and Streetlight Records a few blocks away. Highly recommended.

It had a lovely selection of books along with local artist artwork and postcards that you can purchase. The coffee at Bookworks was solid. I really enjoyed the cappuccino and the iced vanilla latte. The overall aesthetic of the coffee shop feels like a scene from "Friends", I was a fan of the deep and comfy leather couches.
