Such a great find! Amazing two story antique shop. They have everything from clothing to furniture to Knick Knacks. It it surprising well organized for the amount of stuff they had. We ended up leaving with some vintage magazine ads and a vintage cook book. Everything felt pretty reasonable priced there if definitely something for everyone there. What's New? Located in a 1927-era building that once housed the "Carmel Canning Company warehouse #2," and was granted "Historic Structure" status by the City of Monterey in 1994, one year before the Antique Mall opened in June '95. This place is by far my favorite antique store in the Bay Area, as its 21,000+ sq ft of floor space and two floors are occupied by over 100 different merchants selling everything from modern art and jewelry to old toys and abundant knickknacks. The only issue with this place is the parking situation, which can be a bit of a hassle, especially on weekends. Fortunately, it's a bit removed from the more popular Cannery Row area and on the opposite side of the Aquarium, so while it may be difficult, it's not impossible. Otherwise, come forth and feast your eyes on the treasures to behold. Just make sure you give yourself at least two hours to take it all in, or you're going to miss out on some interesting finds. read more

I had some time to kill today while my husband was in a conference and I saw this antique mall when we were walking to dinner last night. It's not unlike any other antique mall across the US, small stalls, probably owned by individuals that pay rent to have their merchandise seen. I spent about 20 minutes in there and saw everything on both levels. Found a few things that were priced decently. The people ringing customers up or friendly and efficient. Parking is street parking and it is metered. Tax is higher than I anticipated. My total was $45 before tax and over $49 in the end. read more

I want to be fair, so I will stick to exactly what happened. A few months ago I saw a large painting at Cannery Row Antiques, dealer booth 719, listed at $1800. Yesterday I called the shop before making the trip. I spoke with Joe, described the painting, and mentioned the $1800 price. Joe did not guess at a number. He told me he spoke with the vendor herself, and that she quoted $680 for that specific painting. So this was not one employee misreading a tag. I was given a price that came, through the store's own staff, from the dealer who owns the piece. At $680 the trip made sense. I live several hours away, so I took time off work and rented a larger vehicle because the painting would not fit in my car. Gas, rental, a missed day of work. I did all of it because a price had been confirmed for me one day earlier. When I arrived, the painting was still marked $1800. Joe was not in. Chris, who helped me, was genuinely kind and I want to credit him for that. But he could not get anywhere near the quoted price, and the vendor would not honor the number I was told she herself gave the day before. Nobody disputed that the call happened. The answer was simply that the quote no longer counted. And here is the part that sits worst with me. Standing there after hours of driving, with money already spent on a rental and gas, the pressure to just pay the higher price was very real. I am not claiming anyone planned it, but the effect was identical to a bait and switch. A low confirmed price gets you in the door after a long trip, and once you are invested, the real price appears and you are expected to swallow it. A store is responsible for what its staff tells customers, and a dealer is responsible for prices quoted on her behalf. When a quote turns out to be wrong for a buyer who made clear he was driving hours to pick the item up, "nothing we can do" is not an acceptable answer. Honoring the quote, splitting the difference, covering the rental, any of those would have shown good faith. None were offered. If you are traveling any distance for an item here, get the price in writing with a name and a date before you leave your house. A confirmed phone quote from this shop cost me a full day and real money, and nobody there felt responsible for it. Owner stated in my review on google they reached out to me. Located in the heart of Cannery Row is this massive antique mall. There are two floors here and both are packed to the gills with items. Vintage toys, furniture, old nautical items, and plenty of unique artwork for your walls. I did find a few items I wanted, but all of them were on the pricey side. I will say, a lot of the items here were priced on the high side, but we are in Monterey. This antique mall is set up by sectioned off booth areas. With each booth area being owned by a different vendor. Since the vendors are not actually on site, it makes it tough to get any help with the items. I did have some pricing questions about a few pieces of artwork, but couldn't find anybody to help me out. Still, if you're in Monterey Bay, specifically the Cannery Row area this is a great place to find a unique piece and kill sometime. read more

Aside from the collectible cards everything seems very legit except for the assistant manager with very poor people skills, who was very accusatory and unapologetically rude when I came back with my credit card to buy new jewelry had already decided upon. We visited this place over the passed Monday and as a Hispanic person, I felt very offended by this white Women weaponizing her racism on to my little boy, this lady was chasing him around checking on everything he touched, this was at the second floor. My son was carrying a set of poke-mom cards he had previously request from a glass counter and paid for himself at the first floor, and for whatever reason this lady felt the need to harass my 12 year old just trying to enjoy his acquisition, just ridiculous. This is one of the best antique shops I've been to, a giant warehouse, two floors, with separate vendor spaces selling endless merchandise and rarities of all kinds, including vintage clothing, furniture, toys, disney items, bobbleheads, figurines, artwork, kitchenware, glassware, animal themed items, records, cassette tapes, music related merchandise, sports memorabilia, various signs, and more than enough to bring a feeling of nostalgia and wonder while browsing through the aisles and individual vendor spaces. Note, even though these spaces belong to different vendors (similar to a flea market or antique faire), the vendors for each are not actually present. You simply pay at the front counter register, like shopping at a regular store, as all items are clearly marked and tagged. I was amused by the many interesting clown-themed items I saw, as well as bunnies! I found a vintage tin tray with colorful clowns and animal circus performers that was just too cool to not take home, a little worn, but at a good price. You can quite literally spend hours here if you wanted to. This is an extremely huge antique store with 2 floors that literally has anything and everything you could think of. So many cool things from the past. Has 2 private bathrooms. Honestly, I would've had a much better time here and spent longer browsing everything, but I was extremely nauseous, which has nothing to do with the actual store. I ended up buying two hot wheels as little gifts and souvenirs for my brother who has a huge collection of hot wheels. I would definitely come back. Check this place out! read more

I love this antique mall in Monterey! It's a short walk up from the waterfront and Cannery Row and is always packed full of interesting items to browse. It's a two floor layout and laid out nicely where the vendors aren't overly packed together. They have a few sections of crystals, some vintage posters and some vendors dedicated entirely to vintage toys. It's a great compliment to any trip to Monterey and way more interesting to browse than any of the other shops near Cannery Row. They also have a restroom, which is a huge plus-nice and clean and a good amenity to have after driving 2 hours to the area. Super large multi floor antique mall with many different venders and areas. If you're looking for something specific might be best to ask since they have a lot to go through. We were here on a warm day and it was pretty toasty in here, especially upstairs, so I wasn't apt to shop too long. There's a lot to see at this antique store. I would say it's the highlight of Cannery Row, even though it's on the edge of CR. Certain things do feel like they're pricier than they should be, it'll require some digging to find good stuff. The store is mainly organized by categories and there are individual spaces for people to consign their items. Hoarding and collecting have a very slim difference, so beware of that as you go through the whole store. There were some cool things like old cameras, whole collection of vintage Playboy, then there would be some weird antique dolls that could pass for horror movies. Some of the aisles are hard to get around, so be careful as you twist and turn. read more

I was visiting Monterey and looked forward to coming back to check out this giant antique store. I spent a good hour going through the store and found several items to buy. I told the person who was checking me out twice that one of the Christmas items I was purchasing was 50% off. I got the total and he took my credit card. He did not read off the items and purchase price ( which he should have). When I was given the receipt I saw he did not remove the 50% off. I was told by the manager that they could only give me a store credit because sold was sold. I commented that it was not my mistake but the store's. I didn't understand that reasoning. I did nothing wrong. She again stated she would only govern me credit. I said I didn't live here. She didn't care. She was not willing to rectify their mistake. So, this is a reminder to ask them to let you know before final sale is rung up the actual prices or you could be overcharged. read more

They have jewelry, crystals, home decor, art prints, memorabilia, dolls, pottery, glass, silverware, clothing, toys, pins, antique artifacts, vintage photos etc. I come here for vintage/antique jewelry, Native American jewelry, and crystals. I have found amazing pieces here. I easily spend 2+ hours browsing. It's easy to forget time. Their prices are reasonable, but it honestly depends on what you are looking for. I also love how everyone decorates their vendor spaces! (Definitely some interior designers in the building). It's a two story building so don't forget to visit the upstairs space. Worst antiquing experience! I've been antiquing all around Texas and California, and New York. I've experienced antique shopping in the smallest, and more rural areas in the DFW area to small towns in Lake Elsinore but never have I experienced the racism and unpleasant staff that encountered here at Cannery Row Antiques. It's sad to say that a lot of my furniture and decor pieces that I've collected while living in this area came from this antique mall. The ladies seem to hover over me every visit. Making my shopping experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. There is one lady that has been exceptionally nicer than the all the other employees, she's the one who wears glasses and normally wears her hair up. She deserves a praise for having to work with a group of people with bad bedside manners and regularly racially profiles people. This lady was the only reason why I ever returned to this place. She is very welcoming and tries to make up for the other staffs shortcomings. If you live in the Monterey Bay Area, I would drive to Downtown Gilroy for cute vintage finds! While riding our bikes along the coastal trail we happened upon this cool antique store. Very nice two story filled with nice inventory. We collect antique wine openers and while we saw a number of them we didn't find any we don't already have. Still fun searching for our treasures! I love buying practical keepsakes from my vacations, so I bought a vintage yellow pyrex bowl for $12 bucks that I now use weekly while cooking.
