Such a great place to go to for all young ages! We've gone with 1-6 year olds and they have all loved it. Their soft play is perfect for the under two's and they have the section marked off as off limits for the older kids. But the over two's have so many options to choose from: dress up, tree house, sciencey stuff, and crafts! We easily spent half a day here and probably could have stayed longer if there wasn't a nap time to plan for one of them. Something for everyone and as long as it's not too busy, it's relatively easy on the parents to let their kids roam and calmly monitor versus anxiously chasing after! read more

What a fun place for kids! We were here on vacation and used the ACM reciprocal network and entered for free. For our 23 month old his favorite was the bottle rocket activity. You crank to build pressure and see the bottle shoot up! Our 5 y/o's favorite was the craft area. What a great way to use her creativity and imagination! She also enjoyed the mini-golf :) and dressing up as a firefighter. All the people working there were also friendly and asked if we had any questions. They truly loved their jobs! My 3 year old had a blast at this place. Actually, it was probably the longest he's ever played at an indoor playspace/museum (2+ hours and could have played for longer but it was time to eat), AND we didn't even explore the entire area! The space in the museum is quite deceiving--it looks small on the outside and technically isn't super big, but it's densely packed with fun things. There's a lot of pretend play (theater, hospital, ambulance, firetruck, garden/restaurant), some science-y/cause and effect stuff, gross motor stuff, pretty much something for every kid. It's also a smart idea for them to sell a ton of toys at the front, haha. The price is really good (only $10/person for the entire day) and well worth it. The staff are also very nice! read more

PERFECT place for little kids to run around and be creative! I can't believe this children's museum is only $10 per person, kids under 3 are free! My 19 month old had the best time. We needed to kill some time before the long drive home, so we came by here since it was a rainy morning. Wow, he absolutely loved it! They have so many pretend play options for kids. The staff was all very nice, and we felt very safe. My son and I entered first while my husband parked the car. When he came up, they wouldn't let him in because he didn't have a child with him. My wife had a conference nearby and I had both kids for the whole day, what's a dad to do with a 2.5-year-old and a 9-month-old? I considered the Monterey Bay Aquarium but I wanted to spend less and I wanted both kids to appreciate the experience. Fortunately, there was a recommendation to visit the Monterey Youth Museum only a few blocks from the Monterey Conference Center and Marriot Hotel. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us and told us about all the amenities. The most important part to me was the reassurance that the staff helps keep a close eye on our littles so that they don't run out and leave on their own and that there is only one way in and one way out of the play area. The prices were reasonable at $10 per adult and children, free for kids under 2. The best part was the admission lasted all day with in-and-out privileges. The facility had a variety of things for kids to do, the first thing you notice is the big tree house in the middle with connecting slides, a mini golf area, a play hospital with a giant operating table, and a play ambulance in front. For the 3 and under there's a play beach area that has a lot of cushioned areas and mini slides. My son's favorite was the craft area where they provided various materials to cut, glue, color, and then piece together a creative piece of art. I intended to only spend a couple of hours that day, but my boys had so much fun we spent the whole afternoon playing. I recommend and would do this again next time we are in town. read more

Less busy than the aquarium, but make sure to call a head of time to ensure they are not full. From the baby area, to put put golf, play kitchen/house/fire truck, stage to perform shows, and a nice fully stocked craft area there is something for children of all ages. The craft area is super nice because you can do a fun craft project and don't that to setup/gather supplies. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My granddaughter went to a Birthday Party at the museum. She had a wonderful time and did no want to leave when it was over.

The good: They gave free Costco chocolate chip cookies upon exiting! I came here with my 15 month old daughter and she loved it. It was free for her because she's under 2. Adults are $10/each. They had areas for dress up, interactive games like miniature golf, a slide, areas for kids to climb, simulations of an operating room, an ambulance, a food stand, a theater and a firetruck, and much more. The place isn't huge but it's just the right size for a little one around toddler-age. This is a great option for a rainy day activity (like today). The bad: The area in the front with the boat says "shoes off" but there were kids in there with their shoes on. I think it would've been nice for someone to enforce the rules there to keep the area cleaner. They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I think parking is street-only. The golf clubs were pretty sticky. The interesting: Masks aren't required but there were some phlegmy coughing kids in there that definitely should've been masked up. read more

We were members before COVID-19 and enjoyed the experience for my son from age 1-3. They just reopened for members, by appointment only, and reopen to the public July 1st. For families with children under 12 who are still concerned about Covid safety, we highly recommend MY Museum as a safer option. They are cleaning toys frequently throughout the appointments, asking people to use hand sanitizer as they enter, limiting how many people are in each appointment group, and asking that people continue to practice social distancing and mask wearing for ages 2+. Some families were wearing masks under their noses and ignoring social distancing today, but the vast majority of people were following the guidelines. read more

The facility is an ok place to take your children for a few hours to get some energy out. Prices are decent for admission also! The facility has a lot of interactive stations for the children. Upkeep and maintenance is not a priority for the staff here. There's no signage on how the station(s) may work or the station(s) is just broken(non-maintained). Cleaning is also NOT a priority there! The bath rooms are cleaner than the stations! Definitely washed hands and changed my child's clothes after! Saw some tourist there to get an American experience. I have to say, I'm a bit embarrassed that they experienced this and will probably be talked about when they get home. It would be nice to see staff walking around ever so often cleaning the stations and the stations properly maintained in working conditions! read more

The perfect place to bring your little. I took my 16 month old here and she had such a great time that we signed up for a membership and go weekly now. The staff is wonderful and kind. The thought that went into the play areas is amazing because you can tell it helps there cognitive and motor skills . She loves playing with the wall of colors, playing dress up on stage and driving the fire truck. My 2 y/o son really loves this place. There's so much to do and explore and he's always happy to come and check all the things out. It seems clean enough... there's plenty of kids making messes and employees are often walking around picking up after them. I imagine they do a fair bit of deep cleaning after hours too. My only qualm is that we have been members for a while now and not a single thing that was broken months ago has been fixed. I totally get regular wear and tear but the ambulance truck would be a much bigger hit if the buttons worked, or if all the theater sounds/buttons worked, or even inside the house on fire if those buttons/sounds worked. Simple things too to fix, like the kinect person in the hospital station. Since our last visit someone did fix the bottle rocket station so I know someone comes for maintenance, but it would be cooler if all the things worked too, especially when considering the cost of walk ins and memberships (Which is totally reasonable). I just mean with the amount of people coming and going it seems there should be plenty of money to fix all the things. read more

This was such a great surprise. We live in SAnta Cruz and usually go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium when visiting Monterey. I'm glad we decided to try MY Museum, my 5yo loved it. The museum has great exhibits, staff is super friendly. And the place is really clean. You will see employees cleaning up and organizing things pretty often. That alone is awesome. The place is very open and has a great flow. A lot of interesting options to keep kids busy and engaged. The creation station was definitely a highlight. They have plenty of good craft materials for kids to let their creativity flow. There's also a 3 and under area for little ones. And compared to other activities in the area and considering the place looks great, price is fair. read more

We had an amazing time at My Museum today! My 2year old ran around for an hour. We will go back and recommend it to others! My only concern was an exhibit needed some attention-- the golf course. There was a metal piece, sticking out of a wall that I believe was a steering wheel prior. It's very low and could injure a child. Some of the golf course area is deteriorating and my child kept tripping over it today. As well the noises on the fire truck in the ambulance were not working. The entry fee was very reasonable ($10) and the staff was extremely friendly!! read more

Not very big but extremely fun for my grandkids ages 1 and 3.5 yrs old. With it being smaller, they were able to run freely around. There was a wonderful craft area available at all times. There was climbing equipment appropriate for all ages and lots of make believe props to be used in a stage. Parking was easy but the city does give parking tickets, so move your car if need be. There's even a nice little bakery and sandwich place perfect for kids across the street which is convenient as no food is allowed in the MY Museum. This was probably one of the best looking play places imo. All of the different sections were fully built out, they looked like real stores and such, not just someone throwing something together. The theater was particularly impressive. My only negatives is the fire engine lights and sounds are cool but a little harsh on the senses, the place can get quite crowded and there isn't a lot of space to sit or put down your stuff. My little is only 1.5 years old, so it's nice to find a venue that caters to kids that young, usually it's hard to manage with the bigger kids and afraid they will trample over the little one, but with the segregated areas of this place and how big it is, it was not bad at all. There was a whole space for 3 year olds and under, some people didn't listen to that sign, but it was only 2 so that wasn't bad, and the exposure they get from all the science projects, and tubes and ambulance and tree house, the fields, the construction site and play stage, I mean there are soo many things to play and get into and explore. I had never been to this place and I am so glad we came, and I will totally go again when he is a little older, it was just such a blast. read more

Definitely a kids museum that is geared towards the older ones probably 3+ years old. Even the under 3 year old section isn't designed for kids under 2 (giant slide and boat they can't even use) plus they aren't good at regulating all the older kids from going in there and using the slide or boat so it is kind of pointless. Some sections and equipment of the museum are pretty beat up and they just use color tape to "fix". The potential is there but compared to our kids museum from where we are from this one doesn't even compare to the creativity and kid imagination of other museums. Glad I didn't have to pay full price because my 21 month old child was done within an hour. Besides the children's museum near our home we have also been to two others in the area that are much more learning and engaging then this one unfortunately. read more

Wonderful children's museum for a 2 year old!! So many activities to play with and seriously wonderful staff. They actively played with kiddos when they were nearby, and if there was an injury (my kiddo bonked heads with another kiddo) they were there immediately to offer an ice pack, gives stamps and stickers, and console. The only improvement I can recommend is having small toilets for the potty training kiddos- at least one if possible. read more

There is something magical about this place for a walking toddler with an appetite to explore as each "section" contains various activities that allow young children of different ages to directly interact and sate their curiosity. But for a young parent as myself, it is the ability to see their curious minds at work that makes the drive, the tab, the time and everything all that comes with it worth it. You see...it's laid out in such a cool way that exploring minds are put to work. Each section so different from the last one that for a young mind, it is truly spectacular. It is also streamlined so no time is ever wasted in the process. You could watch your child, the love of your life, explore and giggle with joy at each section as he for the first time in his little life realize that he can actually process things and show his growth beyond his physical limits. And when your child actually showed you he loves you by figuring a "way to jailbreak" you when you stood at the plastic dome below the golfing area, or "tried" to do so with a golf club and had a "Eureka" moment that was captured on video...you know that it is places like this that foster mental growth and social understanding (with dance classes and learning how to share spots with other kids) that makes that $100 annual worth every single penny. Just celebrated my sons birthday at My Museum. Couldn't of picked a better place. Super fun,stress free and the staff was so helpful and super friendly. Convenient and private party room with plenty of room for pizza boxes, cake, drinks and food trays. Best part they decorate tables, provide cute goodie bags for all guests and clean up after party. Did I go to the same place that these other reviewers visited? After reading reviews I decided to take my girls for a visit on $2 Tuesday. We arrived and immediately questioned whether we should even enter. The place just smells DIRTY. Kids running around screaming and parents staring at their iPhones. The staff was very friendly, but beyond that, I can't say I was thrilled with much else. The exhibits were worn (to say the least) with missing accessories and broken pieces. Don't even get me started on the dingy costumes. This place needs a serious facelift. The craft area was decent, but not enough to make me return. The museum as a whole is definitely suited for 18 mos. to 4 years old. My 6 year old was bored out of her mind. There are too many well maintained parks in the area that provide a more enjoyable time for the kids. The normal price is $8/person and it certainly does not justify it in its current condition. read more

I previously left a negative review after being approached aggressively by an employee as I was trying to put some of my kid's art into our car. We were parked right in front of the front door to the museum so I didn't think it would be an issue to put the art in the car (my kids always do art first and in the past it has been thrown away before they finished playing which I understand if it's been there a while). After speaking with the executive director, who was very gracious, I understand the reasoning behind not allowing parents to leave if they kids are in there (even if it's literally less than 10 seconds you are outside). I also now understand why the worker was so intense/animated about it as well. I feel like you learn a lot about a place when you are not happy and that is the case here (which turned a negative into a positive). One recommendation, tell this to parents when they come in. I have done this several times previously without issue. read more
