We found this pumpkin patch a few years ago and we're so excited because they are one of the few pumpkin patches in the area that sells giant pumpkins. We have been to Spina Farms and Swank farms multiple times and unfortunately, we just never feel like we leave with quality pumpkins. One thing about our family is we love pumpkins we love to paint them we love to carve them. We love to just have them around and growing up in the 90s in 2000s we were able to go to pumpkin farms and pumpkin patches where you didn't have to pay to get in or park and you were able to run through these patches and have fun! This year we weren't looking to be around crowds or really have to deal with all the gimmicks. We wanted to take our family to enjoy a stroll through a farm. Pick out Amazing pumpkins, Take some pictures, and have some fun. Borchard Farms was exactly what we needed and I couldn't remember why we didn't return SOONER! So far all I can see is that they have a lot of additional activities that you pay for at Spjna and Swank but none of that really brings a true pumpkin hunting experience. In fact, I think the crowds actually take away from this experience. As we walked through Borchard farms we were able to pick up over a dozen pumpkins and take over a dozen pictures of our family with our friends and go through the little farm coops where their duck, peacocks, and chickens rest. This really was a highlight because we all really do love birds. As I was walking under the tree, I noticed they had really pretty little mini pumpkins hanging from the tree and I thought to myself what a really great decoration. I asked one of the gentleman who was working the farm where I could find pumpkins the same size, and he directed me towards the front of the exit where they have a little bins full of tons of pumpkins, different sizes and that are small smaller. I kind of fell in love with one that was hanging, and I asked if it was possible for him to take one of them down and at first he said no, but then he came back around and cut it down for me. I can't tell you how cute it is and I was super excited because we are going to be painting pumpkins and it is the perfect size. I was sure that when we were leaving with all of our pumpkins, including one of those giant 50 pound pumpkins that my sister found for our front yard that we were definitely in for a couple of hundred dollars worth of spending we were pleasantly surprised to find out that the large pumpkin we got for decoration in our front yard was only $40 and in total we spent about an additional $23 on pumpkins! We left with 9 pumpkins after picking the ones we wanted for carving versus decor. It was a lovely day and we noted their maze too! I can't recommend this farm enough and everyone writing was kind and helpful. read more

Visiting Borchard farms is by far one of my favorite traditions in fall. My entire family comes every year multiple times a year to enjoy the beauty of the farm and pick our pumpkins! The Borchard family is a joy to see every year and never fails with their customer service. My family and I visited today and one of the Borchard family members went as far as helping a husband with FaceTiming his wife so he could pick up the right pumpkins! It was above and beyond. There will always be a lack of activities to sift through when you live away from the big cities BUT thankfully, here in the peninsula, there are still some rather awesome things to do around this time of the year. Pumpkin patches that are family friendly start showing up this time of the year. Corn mazes which have become even more popular with children are more readily available (regardless of simplicity or lost for hours if without a machete). But the best part? This is always a learning experience for the young ones (and sometimes, for parents without full exposure). Here at Borchard Farms, which has continuously evolved over the years, pumpkins of all sorts and sizes are available. There are bird cages (renovated again) and a simple corn maze that if you loose your bearings often end back up at the entrance rather than the exit. There is the signature stack of pumpkins in the middle and on the wall for pictures with the family. There is just that learning experience for the young ones who didn't know just how many varieties there are and more. Anyways, if you're from the area, come visit. Prices are truly affordable and the people here are super friendly. Not to mention, this may be one of few times you'll get to see pumpkins far BIGGER than you'd ever imagine possible. read more

Covid/2020 Procedure Update: 1. CDC guidelines posted 2. Separate enterance and exit 3. 6ft apart signage everywhere 4. Masks required 5. Temperature checks at the entrance 6. Hand sanitizer stations throughout Everything was spread out this year in the field you would normally see vendors and bouncy houses. I appreciated this because not only was it cuter, but it gave you opportunity to dig through them a little better (while social distancing of course) The face painting, bounce houses, food, craft and Independent consulting vendors are all gone this year. They did have a single food truck stationed in front of the barn with the rusty tool decor. Prices were cheaper this year as well. Last year they were getting up there, but we did a pretty large haul and only spent $52. The giant burpee's were on sale 1 for $15, 2 for $2, or 5 for $40. It was cool. The road to get out there is a bit rough if your in a car. A truck or SUV will do just fine. It's more for the little ones. They did a ford job with the display. This is a quaint farm with a charming area full of photo opportunities, let the kids look at the different animals, pick out pumpkins, and a complimentary corn maze. I was able to meet the owner who was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Ended up purchasing 2 baby pumpkins for $1 or 2 each for the reception desk and I loved them so much that I added Santa hat wine toppers to keep them around for the rest of the year. Today was our first time here. We came from Fremont to meet our daughter and 8 year old grandson. We all had so much fun looking at the wide variety of colorful pumpkins and squashes, bigger-than-life moving, talking decorations, 5 acre corn Maze, and a display of gorgeous pheasants, peacocks, and other birds. A special thank you to Mark, one of the owners, for giving our grandson a pumpkin because he wasn't allowed in an "Employees Only" area. What a cute pumpkin farm! A hidden gem! The staff was so friendly! They shared things had to be scaled back due to COVID which is a bummer. No bounce houses, no food for sale, no haunted house. But there were temperature checks & plenty of hand sanitizer & so many gorgeous gourds & pretty pumpkins! A neighbor told us about the place & I'm so thankful they did. I'd love to come back every year & let the kids pick out their pumpkins for carving. Prices are sooo reasonable. You could make a lovely autumnal display. Perfect for your Halloween decorations or your Thanksgiving table! It would make lovely gifts to family or friends to present an array of pumpkins and gourds! They come in so many different sizes. No entry fee and FREE CORN MAZE! Very narrow road when arriving to the location. Ironically, they have the largest pumpkins I've ever seen, but location wise it wasn't the biggest pumpkin patch I've been to. Pumpkins were pretty nice. They had a "scary" haunted walk- through and a place to look at some animals. We also got some food: Baked potato ($8): tasty, but wait time was a bit long. From the Flying Artichoke food truck: Hot dog ($5): decent hot dog. Got a big soggy and messy with the ketchup, mustard, and relish though. Asada fries ($8?): fries were crunchy (almost burnt), but tbh I like all fries in any form so it was tasty to me. Prime rib sandwich ($12?): the most popular choice and definitely did not regret this purchase. It was the favorite of all 3. Gives me a bit of Philly Cheesesteak vibes. P.S! We have been going to Borchard Farms every year for the past 6 years. They have a corn maze, a haunted barn, and a small bouncy house for kids under 7. In the past you could just buy tickets for the parts you wanted to visit. Now you have to buy a $10 wrist band to go into 1 or all 3 of the attractions and the parents have to pay as well. You can no longer pay for just one thing. So we paid $40 for 4 of us to go through a boring corn maze and my 2 children to bounce. We decided not to buy any pumpkins or buy any food from their new vendors. Unfortunately we won't be going back. They have lost our business. read more

What a hidden gem! Nestled deep in the Salinas agriculture fields is where you will find this place. The narrow bumpy dirt road kept going and going setting up the suspense. The parking lot is huge and next to it is the beautiful corn maze and sunflowers. Free parking, free entry. In the entrance you can grab a wagon to wheel around and grab pumpkins if you'd like. That was a nice touch!! There were big Halloween displays of: hello kitty, Jack from nightmare before Christmas, a wolf I believe it was, and others. A great amount of displays of different types of pumpkins are all over the area. A small hay maze is found in the middle of the pumpkin patch. A tractor is also there. Farm lights set up across the patch. Once you make your way around the patch and start heading to the exit area you will find a chicken coop where there's quite a few different types of birds, chickens, ducks, peacocks, hanging around. That was cool to see. The icing on the cake for this wonderful experience was the great customer service we received at the checkout. I don't know if this place gets busy on the weekends. We went on a weekday early and there were some people but not busy. That gave us a lot of space to enjoy Borchard Farms. read more

I take my dog everywhere with me and he is well behaved. As soon as I got to the pumpkin patch I was approached by a lady & got kicked out for having my dog on a leash because they have a "no dog policy on the "ranch." There was no signs saying so and my dog & I didn't cause any problems so I was shocked we were asked to leave. I even let a kid take a picture with my dog because he's so friendly. I left upset but the photo I got with my little guy is worth more than wasting my money there. Totally rude. read more
