Wow these strawberries look so good

Me and my gf tried to go to pinnacles this morning to hike to the caves but unfortunately upon our arrival there was a five hour wait to get into the park! So we ended up abandoning the line and headed back home. On our way back I suggested we look for local strawberries because my mom told me that Watsonville has good strawberries. Originally we went to gizbach ranch for strawberries and pie. The pie was great! We couldn't find produce so asked this lady who works there and she told me "look around, do you see any fruits on these trees? It is not fruit season!" So we left gizbach feeling very underwhelmed and a little devastated that there was no strawberries. Then we started moseying around the city and ended up on a hunt for pickles. We stopped at Vallarta, no pickles, then lob hill market and found some pickles! We picked two jars that we hadn't tried before and they fixed the pickle craving. Now on our way back home for real, we started passing up so many produce stands on the highway. With every passing stand, I was like, omg, here's all the freaking strawberries. Then, as we approached thistle hut, I was like bro, and then my gf pulled over before we passed it. We walked up and there was some very good looking strawberries, and even a basket to taste test. We taste tested and the strawberries were delicious. I wanted to ask the worker where these strawberries are from, but my gf said not to. So we walked around thistle hut for a bit and found that they even had PICKLES. so we purchased our third jar of pickles for this day and a basket of strawberries. The lady worker was VERY nice and very sweet, she seemed like she was in a great mood. She even gave us a free mango!! After I was like, omg I don't have a mango knife for these mangos, she gave us a super soft one and I was like omg I can totally peel this mango with my hands. This trip to thistle hurt really redeemed a lot of the day for us after the lowkey negative experience I was having in Watsonville because of that lady from the gizbach antique store. Great shop to stop at, thistle hut, would come back again and again.

Stopped here while driving along highway 1. Saw the strawberries and they looked really fresh. We ended up with 2 baskets of strawberries, a bag of snack mix, divinity and pecan roll for $16. The guy managing the stand was super nice. They had many produce options, including snacks. I saw brussel sprouts, avocados, artichokes, tomatoes, peppers, apples, bananas, nectarines and more. Would definitely recommend.

In addition to their produce, they sell really delicious tamales (including a vegetarian option), and the people working there were extremely kind and friendly. We definitely recommend stopping here and supporting awesome sellers!

I stopped here after stoping at another produce stand that seemed too commercial. I got six artichokes and three baskets of strawberries. The berries are so disappointing. The lack flavor and sweetness. To top it off the berries on the top of my baskets were beautiful (but flavorless) and the bottom layer look awful! I haven't tried an artichoke yet.

BEST STAWBERRIES EVER Great local produce at a reasonable price. We were going to stop at one of the other stands like we had in the past but were always disappointed with their crapy quality of produce. Though the building is a little unassuming we decided to stop.. So glad we did! Very impressed! Great service and we will be returning!

I immediately had my husband take that exit and check it out. When I saw artichokes artichokes and more artichokes,, I was sold. I went there to look and see what they had. We found so many amazing items! We purchased pasta sauce, artichoke salsa, artichoke focaccia, bread, artichoke bread, artichoke sweet bread, like banana bread, but with artichokes, we bought actual artichokes, artichoke pizza, and mushroom pizza, frozen deep-fried artichokes, a Japanese black watermelon, a cactus plant, artichoke raviolis, and some amazing soft English muffins. Very unique. I know it was a lot, but we don't live close by so we wanted to stock up. What I really like about this place is the friendly people there especially Sara and there was another gal that unfortunately I didn't get her name and the fact that all the artichoke items are from the artichoke fields there and they support local/family bakers and businesses. We also went to the "Choke Coach" it was recommended by Sara. It was on the premises and it was a food truck that primarily sold artichoke related items. I ordered the three artichoke tacos, which were amazing and the grilled artichokes with a lime cilantro dip. Very yummy! My husband ordered a bratwurst sandwich. The people working there, Maria and Bety we're very friendly and great cooks and customer service I was so glad we made that turn off the freeway! This place is a true gem. They also have cornhole to play while you're waiting for your food or just want to enjoy some fun for a minute. There was a cute, big chair for a Kodak moment

Cute spot but talk about highway robbery no pun intended…read more I would have walked away satisfied if I was held at gunpoint and my wallet was taken instead of paying $11 for 5 fried artichokes the size of quarters. I will continue to stop at Pezzini to drop my loads but skip the food truck in the lot. Some of the worst fried artichokes in the central coast

Yesterday I went to the CSM Farmers Market in San Mateo. Green canopy and green banner sign. I thought it was odd they didn't have the usual "Albion" strawberries I buy since they're sweeter than the non-Albion. I asked the guy and he insisted they were Albion even though the signage did not state this. 3 baskets/$18. I asked him if they're the same as the San Carlos vendor and he said they were. He was misleading if not an outright liar. Today I went to the San Carlos Farmers Market. BLUE Canopy and not a green sign. The guy there told me there are at least two different "Rodriguez Farms." The one in San Carlos has Albion for 3 baskets/$20 and is sweeter than the regular. TLDR: get them at the San Carlos Farmers Market on Sundays. Don't get them at the CSM Farmers Market on Saturdays.

In March 2024, I received an email saying that they needed to clear out their bulk storage, and I had the option of receiving all of my salmon at once, or with each regular delivery until it's all gone. I was to reply within a week or the remainder of my supply would be donated. I replied saying sure, send some of it with each regular delivery, to which they replied: "Unfortunately, the season has been closed since last year but, we can definitely send Sockeye or Coho salmon instead." Turns out even though I paid for king salmon AND they claimed that they still had it and needed to clear out storage, they actually didn't have the amount all of their members had pre-purchased in storage, due to "quality concerns" beyond a certain period. Which they NEVER gave me any heads up about until this point. So when their email went out, the first handful of people to reply got the rest of the king salmon, and they wanted me to accept a different variety instead. A couple of months and over a dozen emails later, I finally received a refund for the rest of the salmon I thought I had bought. I'm very disappointed in how this situation was handled. While I see that they now explain the terms more clearly for their bulk sales, with the prioritization of ad-hoc sales over regular subscriptions for product variety and quality, I don't see the value of this service anymore compared to buying fish from my local farmer's market.
