John said that person's IQ [who's item I inquired about] was so low, completely disparaging her, he couldn't stop his vitriol ... He said that he was a Democrat, and continued to rant and rage... I said, that I was glad I called before visiting, and would definitely not patronize his shop, nor recommend his hatred and anger to any unsuspecting visitor. Very sad and disappointing...

They had a great selection of wonderful items. They also helped me with a vintage radio I had been looking to acquire for months. This one was in good condition and matched the look I was going for. Everyone was nothing but friendly. I read some of the other reviews, and my experience was the polar opposite of the negative ones.

We had a wonderful experience at Robertson's Antiques in Carmel-by-the-Sea…read more We were interested in a beautiful antique leaded glass lamp, and the senior manager spent a lot of time explaining the lamp to my wife and answering our questions. She was very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful, and she also worked with us on the price. When we came back, the owner, Nick Robertson, personally took the time to tell us more about the lamp, including its approximate age, the unsigned shade, and the Art Nouveau spelter base. What really impressed us was that he was willing to write his assessment directly on the original receipt, sign it, and confirm that, as far as he could tell, the shade and base were original to each other. This lamp was especially meaningful to us because I chose it as a gift for my wife to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. She was so happy to receive it. We wanted to find something with history and character--something we could enjoy in our home now and hopefully pass down through our family one day. This beautiful lamp felt perfect for that. We also purchased a 1909 ten-volume Guy de Maupassant book set, which made our visit even more memorable. We truly appreciated the time, knowledge, patience, and personal attention we received from everyone at Robertson's Antiques. For us, this was more than just buying an antique. We came home with a beautiful piece of history, a special anniversary memory, and something we hope will stay in our family for generations. I haven't been able to visit pg as often as i'd like anymore but i will definately donate again... service was always kindness all volunteers worked here amazing humans giving of their time... so i say this thank you for all the years of service and last i was in the shop, my daughters little ballerina stand that was at the door opening still sits in the store... she is now IN college getting her PHD i miss my thrifting with her but i'll definately be in again one day... regards, Corina L.

It actually has some very nice collectibles in there, but the prices are outrageous. There is ample parking in front of the store, especially on a weekday. When I walked in, I definitely got the sticker shock. They had two hand woven wicker, Mexican children's chairs. That they were asking $85 each. These may have been vintage, but they were sure beat up. And $85 seems a little bit high. They use a tiered descending pricing which decreases the price once every month until it gets down to 50%. Oddly though I didn't see any prices that were lowered on my trip today. It's a very nice store as far as the things they have in there some lovely old pieces some very nice clocks and other collectibles. The clothing is again right in the middle of the store and it makes it a little difficult to navigate for someone who uses a cane like I do. I have used the Alliance on aging myself and I know they're a good group so I do wish them every success with their store but I think the prices are still pretty high. Also, the staff could be a little more friendly when you come in, the two ladies that were working completely ignored the entire time.

They have a tag system where some things are 20% off all the way down to $1.50 and I managed to score quite a few few things at the dollar 50 price including some new tags Eileen Fisher pieces! This is a great cause as well as a cute store with really nice people. The Larger store which is farther down towards Pacific Grove has lots of housewares as well. The smaller store which is just up the block from the Goodwill is more boutique awesome place to go Do Not not miss this on your Thrift trip to Monterey.

I don't know why this is, but is extremely obvious that they are overdoing it. Very dated used garments way over priced. I understand some are good brands but some vests & dresses are priced @ i50$ or more even though they are frayed & worn. I honestly hope they reconsider bc most of my local friends that used to rave about this store, no longer recommend it. Someone in there who is responsible for this very obvious price hikes need to stop it back, you are certainly overdoing it; even with your 50% off days, ITS OVER PRICED!!!!!!!!!
