Was in Richmond and walked into this Record store. The fella working there was very nice and pointed us in the right direction for good local punk rock music. Recommended and played several local bands. Stand out was 4 Walls Falling and Prisoner lp's. And gave us a heads up on a local punk rock shown later that night which we went and saw 2 killer bands, The Get Off and NoMan. Didn't get his name but what a cool helpful guy. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the store.

I used to shop at Plan 9 in the 80s when I lived on the east coast so headed there during a recent visit w/the in-laws to see what they had. Didn't find anything interesting, so decided to check out Vinyl Conflict after. Wow, so glad I did!! Excellent selection of punk, hardcore, metal records. I had to limited myself b/c I could have easily spent lots more than planned. I've shopped once in-person & a few more times since online - always a good selection & great service.

Diverse collection of vinyls decent pricing for new records I've found some absolute steals on used records. I really love the art and clothing that they sell as well

This was a great record store. They had boxes outside of new arrivals and I already picked up many great albums before stepping into the store. They mostly have punk rock but they have a pretty wide variety. The person at front desk was very nice. To add the albums were slightly pricier than other stores I have been too but nothing too crazy. All in all this is a great stop for record collectors.

Just the kind of record store I like. Packed with hardcore and metal. There is nothing worse than going to a local place that is famous and finding a small one row section of music you like. Plus they were playing Gorilla Biscuits. I didn't find any records that I wanted to buy but it was fun looking through all their stuff. And I did find one of my friend's band's record from Albany, NY that was kinda obscure for $3.

This is a small portion of the stuff I've found at Vinyl Conflict over the past couple of years.

Lots of gems in the New Used section. And the price is extremely fair. Highly recommend for all punk, metal, hardcore, hip hop lovers.

No, I don't need any new additions to my collection but I NEED to keep looking and buying (I bought about 12 or so LPs yesterday at Plan 9). I have a collection of (vinyl) records to rival most - over 15,000 plus almost as many CDs. I have thousands of 7 inch records. I'm 79 years old and I have most of the records I really want, but I love to continue the search. I love the experience of flipping through records. And Plan 9 is the best place (with the possible exception of Memory Lane) to do that. I spent an hour or so there yesterday morning and found things I don't need but like. I collect mostly Rock 'n' Roll, Folk, Jazz, Country, R&B/Soul but I am fascinated with the easy listening LPs of instrumentals and vocal choirs covering 60s and 70s popular music. The kids might call it "Exotica", but I call it easy listening. Plan 9 has it all - inexpensive to ridiculously expensive - Jazz, Easy Listening, Rock, Country, Soul, Hip-Hop/Rap, Folk, Local music. It's a trip and I love every second of it. Thanks, Plan 9 for hanging in there and giving Richmond an iconic record store!

This cool little spot packs a punch with a nice menu, great people and an incredible selection of records. I made an effort to include this shop in my itinerary while I was in the area for a Yelp event. I had 2 goals: get a matcha and pickup some records my dad and I would both enjoy. I succeeded. I ordered the Le Yams as Matcha which was sweet and spiced with a great balance of flavor. I dug through the crates and was able to score some James Brown, Lakeside, George Duke, and Johnny Guitar Watson. I was impressed by the selection. I definitely recommend giving this place a visit and will be back as soon as I can.

After checking in, my friend and I went to the register to redeem and order our drinks. I do not like coffee, but was able to order from the menu despite that. There were so many things I wanted to try, but made a note to return regularly, not just for the drinks, but to view the record collection also. We saw so many oldies in the collection and there were a lot of albums to look through. When sat down once our drinks (The Matcha Spritz and Matcha Mule) were done and had them with vegan breakfast options provided at the event from a different vendor. La Cache Dulcet does not serve food yet, but plan to in the future. There was a DJ and he was top notch. The music wasn't so loud that we could not hear each other talk and we were right next to him. We didn't want to leave because this whole place was a vibe, but we had to get back to the tasks of the day. We purchased another drink (Chai Latte with Cardamom, Pear, and Cinnamon syrup) on the way out and it was hands down, DELICIOUS. They use oatmilk for their drinks so I didn't have to worry about dairy restrictions. This place is not just worth trying. It is worth experiencing. They plan to have events that will be announced on their Instagram page.

I have never personally been to a bigger book selection in my life. Almost worth making the trip…read morejust to come to this place only for the books if you love books. Almost. They even have a decent number of CDs although they are priced higher than many Goodwills. Staff seems to be all volunteer. The staffer I encountered really knew his books like nothing else and he really understood vintage vs newer and how many different categories were integrated with each other. He also understood how some other volunteers might improperly categorize things and where to optimally try to look. He could tell that I had a sense of the different array of things in the store too. I was a bit surprised when he told me that he was here only part time. He was trying to see if he could give me a discount as he could tell I a bit surprised about the CD price. Even told me if I got one more CD or DVD that it would be $1 more. However, it was near closing and I just kept the purchase I had decided on. Two of the three CDs I got turned out not to be a win for me. Lol that is how it goes. He told me he worked here part time. He may've assumed I would come back here regularly. That person can feel free to reach out via private message if he was looking to build something more outside of the store. He was staying professional- and I was starting to get tired from a long trip and didn't want to hold him up from near closing time. He noticed my unique choose your own adventure shirt (with quality choices on the back) stuck out to him as did several other people in public.
