The store was surprisingly big compared to the outside, with tons of variety from blank comic covers for artists to banned graphic novels. When I got there, they had a table of books for $1, mostly kid's books. Once inside, there are books along the wall. I also saw comic books, records and some vintage ads by decades. They have a very tiny kid's section nothing to rave about. My impression is that they had a lot of books, but not a lot of popular books. It was still worth a look. I did see some books about Art and Architecture. I am sure I am missing mentioning more, but that is what I remembered. The books were fairly priced and was glad to find 2 books. You can see my pics to see them. The bookstore seems to have been there a long time. It doesn't look like it's been updated ever. There is an old vibe here, but these are the kinds of bookstore you will find something cool and rare. The old register at the counter is also a classic.

The place is huge (compared to the tiny bookstore at my alma mater) and very well layed out. Plenty of space in between the aisles and retail area. It had a coffee bar as well and it looked like students come here to do work. They have books for school as well as books for fun/gifts/light reading. They had a TON of VCU apparel, knick knacks, and accessories which come in all sizes and for all ages. It is a little pricey so we only picked up a t-shirt and some magnets (total $30) but I am sure I will be back there to pick up a few more gifts for the future!

If you download the My College Bookstore app by B&N you can get 25% off one piece of apparel or something like that. Everything is spaced out so you can get a good look at everything they have to offer. There are also sitting spaces if you decide to stay for a spell. We spent a while in the store looking around and surprisingly no one greeted us nor asked if we needed any help. On our way out the door, I realized the few folks we passed actually worked there as they were behind the checkout area.

They were playing good music there and the decorations were actually so cool. They had cassette tapes, CDs, and vinyl. They had guitar lying around, though I tried to avoid touching them just in case they were for display only. The value for these albums were perfect. They had sections for 5$ records, and some for 1$ records. The most expensive one I got was rubber soul for 20$! They had lots to see. It was awesome. I will definitely be coming back.
