Oh look all the records are labeled great for pricing everything to get the most money but for the customer all is imminent damage to the cover art as you try to take it off. There grading system is good but having record album covers damage with this system is a non starter for me. I am not going to get a blow dryer and try and get it off that is not the hobby I signed up for.. A second off putting point on this store is the sign for all sales are final, really you are selling used vinyl most of this stuff is unplayable if you have good equipment and it's no way to keep good customers as much as I wanted to like this place and it has some gems it just does not seem customer friendly. They have a sign asking for reviews, not sure this is what they had in mind. I can forgive the credit card fees some of the networks are killing small business but the no exchanges when your are buying supposedly mint vinyl and the labels are a no go for me. On some of the premium stuff it's sealed and the labels are on the outside but you can't tell what you got or if it will play well with your system, I guess it's too easy to abuse and that's why it's there but I may still go but now I will look a lot closer at everything I buy. read more

Been going to record stores around the island for over 30 years the positive things about this place it looks impressive great selection and was greeted by a chipper young lady. The negative things the prices are OUTLANDISH! i know theirs overhead but geez! not priced to move like the other stores around here even more expensive then i see on ebay or discogs. Cool place, great selection of vintage vinyl, however they are way overpriced! Most are in the $20 - $30 range, and their bargain bins are $8! There are many more places in the Island that sell at a reasonable price. read more

Great amount of records and all music paraphernalia! Amazing metal and rock sections. Prices pretty high though compared to discogs prices. And an extra charge for credit cards which I've never seen except for in a restaurant. Also, the girl working was masked up and behind a plastic barrier still in March of 2023. Nice selection, but prices are not realistic. I bought one LP rated by the store as VG++ at a price higher than I felt it was worth even at VG++. Got the record home to find it visibly scratched and noisy playing. The record is at best VG- if I'm being generous. Unfortunately, the lighting in the store is too dim to look over records before buying. Recommended only if you're willing to pay a premium to buy locally local and if you confirm the record grading before you buy. read more

They have everything you'll ever need for an obsessive vinyl collector. Best part - excellent prices and they grade all of their product (on the plastic vinyl covers !!). The main problem I have with this place other than high prices is the rating given to LPs'. I just purchased two with "MINT" ratings. One had a very visible scratch running over 3 tracks ( the click is audible ) and the other also rated "MINT" had pops and clicks on a few tracks. I you are going to charge premium prices for used LP media then have accurate ratings please. read more

Found this hidden gem today! Right when I walked in I was welcomed. The employees were very nice & helped me find what I was looking for. I loved how well organized everything was! I spent almost an hour looking through bins, surprised to find so many awesome rarities! All the vinyl are labeled by condition which is so convenient. There's a large selection to browse though and lots of decently priced sealed records!! I bought 4 records but I'll definitely be back for record day to buy more! Amazing variety, great atmosphere and very helpful staff. Needed to pick up an album but the one on the floor was a bit yellowed. Awesome record shop in a pretty cool industrial park! The employees were all super helpful and I was able to pick up a few harder to find items as well as some less expensive finds. I'd highly recommend this place if you're on the hunt for some deep cuts, or if you've got several hours to browse. They have so many records it's going to take some time. read more

Nothing is priced to move. They look up every record on line and then way overprice them. If they had a 50% off sale, they would still have most of their records sitting there. Much of the same stock was there since last year when I first gave it a try. Put it this way, every 12" is $7 or more, even the ones that are sealed for 25 cents on discogs and there are 65 copies for sale. On another note, they were not rude but certainly not friendly. I asked a question and got a three word response. That's when I left. Also worth a mention was that they were blasting music to the point that it was very uncomfortable to browse. Two visits a year a part and I still walked out with nothing. Mom and pop music stores should be aware of the enormous market that eBay and discogs have and should try to undercut that. Many stores do and it's a pleasure but my experience here has not been very good. read more

Came here about a week ago on record store day. It was my last day working out of New York before heading back to my home in Los Angeles and I couldn't resist indulging in some crate digging on every record collectors favorite holiday. One of my audiophile friends told me about this place so we figured we'd check it out. I must admit, being from Long Island I was a little skeptical about a vinyl store operating out of Plainview being that I spent my life frequenting the best record shops in the world from NYC to LA to Amsterdam. However, to my surprise the facility was very well put together and the record selection was pretty good. After spending about 40 minutes flipping through some bread and butter I purchased about 10 albums. Some expensive, some fairly priced. Yesterday I finally got around to listening to the albums I bought from Vinyl Bay 777. While listening to the mint vintage copy of Frank Zappa's Hot Rats that I purchased I discovered a nasty skip right in the middle of the record on Side 1. Being that I paid $60 for the album and the audio was labeled as Near Mint I was pretty bummed. Today I called the place to inquire about returning the album for a refund. Ultimately, I spoke to one of the owners and he basically told me that they do not accept returns because they listen though every album multiple times to make sure there are no pops or skips. Clearly, that is crap... I've been an avid record collector for over 20 years and this guy just insinuated that I was responsible for the skip on the record.. He literally spoke to me like I was a 12 year old kid walking into Sam Goody asking if they had a copy of Michael Jackson's Thriller. What does he think I did? Take the record out of the sleeve and jab at it with a steak knife? What a racket these guys have going on. This is horrible customer service! In conclusion, I pretty much own a record that is worthless. Yeah, I'm pretty pissed off. read more

One of the nicest record stores you'll find in the Northeast. Good and large selections in VG or better conditions. Very odd hours though. Just be sure to know your prices though; while a good portion is current market price, you'll also run across releases that are massively overpriced. This is a great record store. They have a huge inventory and it's well organized. All the records are clearly marked as to what they are and many albums have accurate pressing information which is important to collectors like me. I found the staff to be friendly as well, which is not necessarily common in record shops. Here's where they lose points; The records are graded very liberally in my opinion. Anything considered VG++ should not have excessive visible surface marks. A grade of near mint should be only used on albums which retain a shine to the vinyl and look like they've been played under ten times. If I agreed with the grades assigned to the albums I looked at, the prices still would have been on the high side but still reasonable. There were a couple of records that have been on my want list for a while, but because of condition and price I left without them. I have no doubt that most of the albums will get sold to people who will be very happy with what they get and what they paid, but those of us who are more discerning should be advised; check condition carefully before you purchase. That being said, Vinyl Bay 777 is definitely worth a visit. read more

Organized in a way that allows easy browsing for your favorite records, even the 7" records are organized when they usually are not in other stores. They've got quite a selection of records too, from rock to rap and jazz. The only downside is that I think they are overpriced. A lot of their used records are double or even triple of what I've seen in other record places. Unfortunately, I drove quite a distance to go there so I ended up leaving with only one $8 record that I know I could have probably gotten for less elsewhere. I would visit again if I were in the area. The store looks great and their selection is still worth digging through! read more
