Outstanding! Vintage Salad - perfect, no notes. Pecan Chicken - YUM! And the sauces! So so good. Service was attentive and friendly. The place is small and really nice, especially the outside seating. A highlight of my time in Ketchum! read more

No bar. Wine by the bottle only, no glasses. Limited menu. Everyone's chicken was good, but I got a rubbery piece. They didn't want to split the check Even though we were traveling individually for work. The atmosphere and outside vibe is what attracted me in, but sadly it was disappointing. read more

As a chef myself I'm hard to impress. Our experience at Vintage was so amazing it made me want to meet and thank the chef personally. His dishes are creative, inventive, and so delicious. Everything exceeded our expectations. The Vintage will be on our recommendation list for sure! Thanks Chef! P.S. be sure to try the escargots! OMG dish delish!! read more

Very few restaurants offer what Vintage has in our area. The chef is top notch and every plate is decorated like a painting and of course so so delicious. For sure on the high end in pricing but certainly we'll worth it especially for special occasions. Enjoy this gem in our backyard. read more

The food, ambiance, and service here were all good, but the price tag was not especially for those "normal" people who don't typically spend over $100 on their dinner. Always be sure to ask for prices on the wine or you may be unexpectedly hit with a very hefty bill. read more

A beautiful ambience for sure. However, our service was slow and unresponsive. I wouldn't expect that with this type of restaurant. The food was delicious, I recommend the tamale appetizer. The only dissatisfaction was that it took over an hour to have our dinner prepared and served. And our server barely came to check on us during this time. I believe they may be short on staff. Sadly, That is the case in many establishments. I still recommend this restaurant, just be aware of the wait. Or maybe it was just this night. read more

On the positive side they have a lovely outdoor courtyard. The menu is very limited so there should be no excuse for not executing on what they do offer. The salads were bland with virtually no taste. The steaks were over cooked ruining what appeared to be a nice piece of meet. Sides on steak were good but for $75 you have to get it right. Duck also overcooked and plating was bizarre. Avoid! read more

Great ambiance in the garden outside seating. We had large group of 9. Service and food flawless. It's been two years since I wrote my original review. Just went back last week with the same group and had an even more incredible experience. I've become one of those odd ducks who only eats whole foods that are plant-based so basically vegan but more so. We called ahead since there was nothing on the menu that I could eat and the chef prepared a meal for me. It was one of the best dinners I've had in my life. The flavors exploded. The textures were varied and sublime. when the chef came out to see how our meal was I couldn't be more effusive in my praise. read more

The wine here was amazing. (Given it's name, you'd expect it to be! Didn't disappoint on that score.) For food.... given the prices I expected EXCELLENCE. That is not what we got. The special avocado gazpacho was indeed excellent - one of the best dishes I have had in the past year. However the special watermelon salad was lacking... and then for our main course we split the house special of roasted duck.... it was - horrors!! - over cooked! And we were charged $7 to split it. Whatever to the charge but overcooked to boot? No thank you. Dessert of flourless chocolate cake (how can you go wrong?) was excellent (but teeny). Giving four stars instead of three because the service was excellent, the location with the outdoor patio is romantic and most appealing, and I'm thinking I will err on the side of the kitchen having had a bad night on a Tuesday. But seriously hoping they read this and never ever over-cook the duck again. It's a travesty. read more

Terrible service. First of all, when the hostess led us to our table, my husband's seat was wet. The hostess said,"oh it's just water." In other words, feel free to sit in a puddle of water at dinner. Had to ask for bread three times while the people arrived after us had been served them. Server said it was the kitchen's fault we did not get our bread. (Hm.) Wanted to order wine with dinner, but no one came by to ask if we would like to order wine with dinner. (A revenue opportunity lost.) Complained to the manager, which he said he was too busy for us. No apologies or anything. We have had many meals at high end restaurants. This was by far the worst service. The chef/manager yelled at us and in the end said, "go ahead, don't pay for it." So we didn't. (Complete revenue opportunity loss for the restaurant.) Here is the question: if you want to serve people meals as a for-profit business, why make customers angry and end up serving them for free? What is the business sense in this? read more

I don't want to hurt their star rating as they look lovely, but i have to post a warning for people before booking. When we made a reservation for some girlfriends at Vintage, they acted like they just needed to charge a hold. When some important things came up and we needed to cancel about 7 hours after we made the reservation, and still 4 hours before the reservation- they said they would charge us $300! I've never heard of anything like that for a place that isn't more like hundreds minimum/person (eg michelin). Then, they said they would charge even if some of us came to fulfill the reservation but not the same total number of people. I respect their right to do that, of course, but i wish for my friend's sake that it was more obvious they would do that since it's no small amount of money. By the way, i love "stags leap", but having it (either stag's leap or stags' leap and yes they are different things) on the menu is no amazing feat like the other reviewer implies (unless they have certain years) and it makes me think that other aspects are over hyped. Because i couldn't join after all i did not eat the food. read more

We are on our honeymoon and stumbled on this gem. Best food we've had so far on this trip. Everything was outstanding. We spent the day mountain biking so we were starving! We had the shrimp tamale, fig and burrata salad, corn soup with vanilla bean (sounds weird but honestly was amazing), petrale sole and a ribeye steak. Everything was delicious!! My husband had the bread pudding for dessert and said it was outstanding. I had the pannacotta. Mine was good, but have had better. The server was wonderful and sitting outside on the deck was just beautiful. Wonderful experience and would go back in a heartbeat. read more

I have had few occasions to write a 5-star review, but Vintage has earned it. I came here once on New Years Eve, and again on a quiet snowy Tuesday in April. On both visits, the food was exemplary: from the menu, to the presentation, to the close-your-eyes-and-moan-it's-so-good first bites. The restaurant seats 18, and is housed in a cozy pioneer era cabin. The wine list is decadent, featuring names like Chateau n'Yquem and Stags Leap. My most recent meal included Boston clam chowder, with clams so big and fresh they must harvest them in Wood River. The lamb rack was perfectly cooked, the potatoes given life with fennel and cream. Our dessert was the best flourless chocolate cake I have ever eaten, with a pecan crust and homemade coffee ice cream. My experience on NYE was similar-despite a fully booked house, no detail was spared. I could go on, but will instead insist that you make a reservation and try for yourself. Immediately. (But I'm serious about the reservation.) read more

They simply could do nothing wrong! We were here for a week and asked for reservations at the best places in town. Vintage won hands down. This place was able to surprise us a lot. We sat down in a small, almost like what used to be a cabin, but the scene was set nicely and it is a nicer place. The food was amazing and over there was great service. Coming there with picky pre teens we were able to see how the cook was able to make them pasta off-menu. read more

The service was lovely and the restaurant is beautiful but the food definitely reflects the name. The food is outdated and extremely overpriced. I paid 100 bucks for a salad, the entree photographed and 1 glass of wine. It was basically salmon with some curry sauce on top for 50 bucks. If you like bland food and just have too much money go for this place. read more

Amazing food! The ambiance is wonderful day and night. Great wine selection. It's a wonderful place.

Great food, service not so much, after we were seated and served our soup we were asked to move to another table to accommodate another party, from that point we were forgotten , we had to ask for water , we were asked if we wanted bread and butter and said yes but that never showed up, had to ask to have the wine put in a chiller. Food was good but for the money the service did not live up to the expectations . read more

Incredible food, atmosphere, service and overall experience. We made a last minute reservation at Vintage for romantic birthday dinner on vacation to Ketchum. From start to finish we were very impressed. To eat, we had the shrimp tamale, crusted chicken and crispy duck. The tamales are possibly the best I've ever had, and came at the very strong recommendation by the owner. The duck was phenomenal and both dishes were large portions. We chose to sit outside which I would highly recommend if the weather permits. Great private tables with twinkle lights makes you feel in the middle of your own garden for a delicious meal. read more

Cute little place. Service not all that good. Finally got wine after 30-40 mins and it wasn't even remotely dry as we had asked for and apparently getting a taste wasn't possible. Entre was disappointingly flavorless and dry. And the bill sky high. Highly unlikely to return. read more

The food was just so-so. Not worth the expense. My dinner- the polenta was served cold and the veggies were half cooked. Not enough sauce. Although the lamb was perfect. Brussel sprout salad- used the tough outer layers not the inner tender layers. Felt like being forced to eat a months worth of roughage. Oyster appetizer- great sauce with four medium sized oysters that were obviously out of a jar. Desert- Two scoops of walnut rolled commercial ice cream with a half a cap of brandy with a shake of espresso powder doesn't equal $ 10.00 a serving. Wine- fabulous selection priced at 150% above what you can by at the local market. I feel taken... High note- the Orange vinaigrette Pear Gorgonzola salad was the amazing and a high mark of the meal. Waitstaff was also outstanding. At $ 275 (tip not included) for two you can get two or three grate meals anywhere else in Sun Valley. Must be missed... Honestly walk away read more

Fan-Tastic! You will be greeted by a cozy log cabin environment tucked away off the bustling Main Street and feels like more of a local hangout rather than the tourist spot. We were vacationing with another couple and everyone raves about their meals, off the charts delicious although the lobster bisque was a bit bland. The staff is friendly and prompt. Highly recommend The Vintage. read more

On a pleasant summer evening the abiance of Vintage's outdoor garden seating is perhaps the nicest in the Sun Valley area. The menu has a somewhat limited range of offerings, a feature I generally find encouraging as it generally means these are the strongest offerings from this kitchen. The evening we dined the menu was augmented with quite a few specialties of the day. One of these we tried was 'smoked tomato with burrata'. The tomatoes were excellent, some of the sweetest and tastiest I've had in quite a while. The 'smoke' was a nice touch but was only really apparent on the red tomato. The yellow tomatoes were still very fine. And the burrata was a lucious creamy topping. The 'shouldn't-miss' items were reported to us by our server as the tamale starter, the duck and the chicken. We ordered all three. The tamale was presented as this huge corn husk package with shrimp 'exploding' from the top. The shrimp are seasoned with a tangy sauce and the whole tamale sits in a similar broth. The duck was nicely prepared, the meat being tender and flavorful. The shortcoming was the paucity of sauce. It was very nice, sweet but still savory fruit sauce. There was just not enough to pair with the amount of duck meat served. As for the chicken, it is nicely crusted (pecan I believe). My chicken was slightly overcooked, making it a tad dry. But the accompanying potatoes were outstanding. The wine list offers a nice selection of half bottles which I often find ideal for a dining couple. Our service was congenial and efficient. The grilled peach dessert would have been very fine had the white peach itself been sweet. But when serving fresh fruit, it can be a roll of the dice. read more

Outstanding meal and great service! I would not hesitate to recommend Vintage to anyone seeking a special night out.

Restaurant made us wait 45 min for a table. We were there 30 min early and returned at our time and still had to wait 15 min for our table when there was the same table available ( for someone better) both times. Our friends from out of town came in 45 min later right after we were finally seated and they gave them that table! Then I ordered the corn tamale, but they never mentioned it was spicy, but said don't eat it until you get the bread. I asked for the bread twice. It only came after I finished the tamale, but we had no knife for the butter. We had to ask for knives. No one ever checked to make sure all was ok. We came for the halibut in the previous yelp reviews and no halibut! Very disappointed. Main meal was good, but not why we came. When we move here, we will not be back. read more

This place has so much ambience! And the food is absolutely top of the line! We had the butternut (with coconut milk and peanut butter) soup, the pecan chicken, the oysters, and the pistachio grouper. All were fabulous! We ordered panacotta for dessert and they brought us the chocolate torte. Both were wonderful but the torte was just plain amazing! So good. We also had a red blend from Italy that was super good too. The server and owner/chef Rodrigo were so nice too. This is going on my favorites and we will be back! read more
