I think I've written, collectively, maybe five reviews in my whole life and they've all been five…read morestars. People can have a bad day, and I never want to cast negative light on a small business, but this experience warrants a review. I ran into the store quickly with my 3 year old for some raw products and side dishes for dinner ...a super quick $100. When I got home 15 min later, I realized one of the items I had been carrying around the store was not in my bag. Since I had gone there particularly for that item, and specifically remember taking it out of the refrigerator when I first got there, I wanted to call and make sure they could put it aside for me if I had been charged for it OR that I hadn't accidentally left it out in the store not refrigerated and unnoticed. Since I wasn't provided with a receipt, I didn't know, but I did know that I took it out of the refrigerator and placed a few things on another table near the register as to not block anyone while still grabbing and dashing! Charged or not, I felt I had left it out somewhere and wanted to make sure it got back to refrigeration and didn't go to waste! You'd think this would be a simple conversation with the store owner. So I called the store to let them know. I tried to explain that I'd gone up to the counter with raw creamer, but it didn't make its way into the bag, so I wasn't sure if I was charged for it or not but it should be somewhere around the cash register area regardless! The owner curtly interjected while I was mid sentence that she did not charge me for creamer. I tried to explain again that I had taken it out of the refrigerator and she might want to check on the table with the soup containers bc I had placed things there before getting to the register. I wasn't trying to argue that I had paid for it. Her response was, "we did not charge you for creamer. Do you understand that??" I am not exaggerating, she said it just like this! To a customer!! Very shocked at her response and tone, thinking there must be some huge miscommunication, I tried explaining again that I was positive I had left it in the store, out of the fridge, regardless of being charged. And told her where I thought she should l check. I thought for sure this would resolve the conversation and it could end on a good note. I was not being confrontational at all b/c there was nothing to argue about! She then accosted me again and told me I did not "get charged for creamer" and then HUNG up on me!! The OWNER!! Acted like this!!! Over a customer trying to tell her she left the creamer out! Such a disappointment as the store was a great resource for me. I absolutely love supporting small businesses and local farmers, but can improvise elsewhere after this experience.

When in Rome... er, I mean Sun Valley…read more This was our first visit to the Sun Valley area, so we figured we had to try the famous Ram Restaurant. Historically, I'm not one to seek out French-inspired dining. I have a hard time getting excited about paying a lot of money for a tiny portion of food artistically placed in the middle of a very large plate. But hey, when in Sun Valley... And I have to give credit where credit is due -- we had a great dinner. We had the lamb and the Hungarian goulash, and both were very good. But surprisingly, one of the stars of the night was the Caesar salad. It was exceptional -- possibly the best Caesar I've had, or at least the best in a very long time. We split it, by the way, which is why the portion in the photo looks so small. For once, the tiny portion wasn't the restaurant's fault. Then came the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was ridiculously good. So good, in fact, that my wife -- who specifically announced that she "wasn't hungry for dessert" -- proceeded to eat practically the entire thing while I sat there starving, watching my dessert disappear one bite at a time. Marriage is about sacrifice, apparently. Evan was our waiter and was awesome -- friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The entire Sun Valley resort is beautiful. Between the architecture, mountains and village atmosphere, you could almost forget you're in Idaho and think you've somehow wandered into Deutschland. Overall, a great first experience at The Ram and definitely something you should try at least once. Next time, though, we may skip everything else and just order Caesar salad and TWO Sticky Toffee Puddings!

The website is down (and has been for a while, and still is as I post this review 10 days later), which is always a drag because I like to preview the menu and cross reference with Yelp photos. Instead, I received the meatball sandwich in place of the roast beef. Honestly, I was fine with it, but the lady doubled down and insisted I had ordered the meatball one. Spoiler alert, I did not. The ham and apple had barely a whisper of apple, so the meatball ended up being the winner of the two. The real stars here though are the cookies. Yes, they are overpriced, but they are delicious. The peanut butter based ones are the champions in my book.

Meat and creamy cheese everywhere, slop all over my fingers. It was like feeding branches to a wood chipper. I mean, I did DAMAGE, for God and Country. The elk chili was fantastic. Great taste and large portion size. We managed to finish it off between two of us. By the time it was over, the table was pure CARNAGE. Chili bowl looked like it survived a zombie onslaught and there was meat, cheese and unidentifiable goodness everywhere near the nachos plate. I cleaned it up the best I could and AWESOME waitress BOBBIE C came and finished clearing the murder scene. Like that wasn't enough, we split a chocolate toffee mousse dessert. The taters I ordered were over fried in old oil, it didn't taste right. The peachy salad with the $7 add on for shrimp was a rip off, there were 5 total shrimp! $25 for this salad. Maybe 1/2 a peach. Wife described the shrimp as overcooked and rubbery. Shrimp should be slightly orange just past translucent and juicy. See photo. The mini cheeseburgers were mini but the kids liked them. Daughter liked the potato soup, and an order of chicken fingers had all fries the size of about a 1/2 in. It was weird, not sure if it was intentional as it was a kids meal. The other kids meal had normal sized fries. Overall it was disappointing. Also, I don't like restaurants who calculate the tip for the after tax amount...tip should be on the cost of the actual food, not also the tax. Come on people. Not worth it, I wouldn't stop here again.
