Like many reviews mention, this place certainly lives up to the name! It was a great bargain for our one night mud season stay, but if I were paying the prices I see for peak summer & winter, I'd certainly think it could use a renovation. I appreciate the variety of room layouts, great for groups and families, too few hotels offer this. The kitchenette is well stocked and can do all the basics. The pool is nicely heated and the hot tub is huge. Everything was comfortable, even the pullout couch. Location at the very edge of the resort is ok. read more

SUPER COMFORTABLE AND FULL OF AMENITIES! Lodging during ski season is crazy and depending upon where you go, it can get pricey. In my opinion, it's critical to find one that is clean, has comfy beds and good linens. THIS place checks all those boxes. :) Also PET-FRIENDLY!! Bonus!! Our spacious studio had two awesome queen beds, a kitchenette and fireplace, plus being at the end of the hallway, it had 4 windows to see the beautiful mountains better. We really enjoyed our stay here very much. A word to the wise: Friday and Saturday evenings at the hot tub are slammed with hormonal, energetic twenty-something's. Don't expect to have a leisurely soak after a day of skiing. Sadly. There used to be a bar and grill located inside the premises, but it's gone!! Damn Covid and unavailability of people to work no doubt!! Hope they bring it back because I'd love to experience having it actually inside my hotel!! Traipsing down the bucket gondola which stops running at 5:30 pm is a PITA because then one must wait out in the cold for a shuttle to take you back to the hotel. Not enjoyable. read more

I have NO idea how people are rating this place 5 stars. Our experience has been god awful. The 5 stars review right below mine says the amenities are great, but admits there's no food or coffee, pool/hot tubs are unusable and overcrowded, no A/C, not hot water, but yeah, I guess there are windows and a bed. The same amenities you get literally ANYWHERE that's not a dungeon. Nobody working at this hotel is helpful. Nobody cares if you are having difficulties or a hard time. I would liken this experience to staying with an estranged uncle. They are providing you a room, and the attitude is that you should be happy to even be getting that. I know this isn't Vail or Aspen. But being treated worse than you get treated at a Super 8 after we have paid so much just feels like a slap in the face. The fact that you can look at all the negative Google reviews and they don't even care to respond to any of the bad ones should demonstrate a lot about how little they care about your customer experience. read more

Stayed here overnight so we could go into town for the Blues from the top concert and it was good value. Bathroom is a little small and the drain was slow in the tub. The fireplace didn't seem to work nor was there breakfast. That said, cute lodge like. Good location and good sized room with two queen beds and a kitchenette. It's vintage, and it shows. But, wait, there's more. Old isn't necessarily bad at all. Dirty *is* necessarily bad. They don't offer housekeeping, which is probably wonderful for just about everyone. However, I think nobody wants no housekeeping BEFORE they get their room. It's really gross in the bathroom. I'm thinking of requesting a vacuum to suck up all the hair. This hotel can be this gross because it's a ski resort. They know that if you put up two sticks and a tarp, skiers will still pay 300$ a night. read more

Back to the Future. Built in 1986 and aside of "new" flat screen TVs and a USB adapter not much has changed since this place was built. Stayed here August 20-22, 2021 in room 308. SO, FIRST THE GOOD: Location is right of the highway and within walking distance or short shuttle ride to the Winter Park skis slopes, restaurants and activities. There is ample parking that was free, but due to the many pay stations may require a fee during the winter (that may be for non-hotel guests, not sure). The cabriolet gondola that takes you from the hotel directly to the ski area was closed for repairs, but there was a shuttle bus every 20 minutes. We stayed in a studio suite which was a bit larger with a kitchen, seating area and dining area. Everything you need was there. They allow pets for a $35 fee for the stay, give you extra sheets to cover the furniture and a tag for your door so housekeeping is aware there is a dog. There is however no housekeeping during your stay if you have a dog. Seen some previous comments here on the rudeness of the staff. The people checking us in and every other interaction with hotel staff was great for us. The guys at the front desk were friendly, and each time I had a question, it was answered with a smile. During our stay - based on the parking lot the hotel seemed rather full - we never heard neighbors or someone above or under us. We did hear kids in the pool being quite loud each night but that ended at 8:00 p.m. so not too bad. Also, stellar views of the surrounding mountains. About a 5 or so mile drive to the nearest Safeway in Frazer. NOW THE NOT SO GOOD. The hotel was built in 1986 and it shows. I don't think there have been any updates to the hotel since it was built, aside of the "new" flat screen TVs and the USB adapter. Although it appeared clean, our room really showed its age with frayed carpet, damaged walls, and not enough plugs for the modern traveler. The carpet in the room started as maroon by the entry and slowly faded into green carpet where the sun had bleached it over the years. There was carpet in part of the bathroom (yuk) and it was frayed.. Part of the carpet by the bed had been torn or removed and was covered up by a carpet runner. Damage to the wall in the kitchen and by the fireplace (which incidentally didn't work). There is no AC and facing the afternoon sun or room was quite uncomfortable upon arrival (and the blinds were closed). The hotel does provide a fan for circulation. Even with the windows open at night and 40F, the room never really cooled off. Even though the hotel has a very strict non-smoking or pot policy, the lobby smelled like pot all of Saturday afternoon through late at night. IN WRAP UP Great location, needs a refresh badly, but perhaps when you stay here, you don't come for the hotel, but for the outdoor activities both in summer or winter. read more

If I could give this hotel a zero, I would. It was est. in 1986 and it hasn't been updated since 1986. No room service of any kind during the stay. The place smelled like old and air freshener. Very disappointing for close to $300/night. Would definitely not recommend. Winter park resort was great though. read more

Clean, beds were comfortable, staff were helpful and friendly. However, at 6am the sun shines directly in the window arch, which has no shade. The position of the sun shines directly in the window at the head of the bed. Impossible for kids to sleep in and I just applied sunscreen as my face melts into my pillow. If you're staying on a east facing room, bring in the sun shade from your car and cover the window. As a business offer a solution so I'm not tempted to nail towels to the trim boards. read more

Hubby and I came up for the Labor Day weekend, to ride our ATVs, enjoy the long weekend out of the heat of Denver (it was 96 degrees this weekend, in the city) and explore summer in Winter Park. We chose the Vintage because of great rates on Booking.com, and also for the convenience of parking our truck with the atv trailer. We are super happy with staying here, we like being outside of town, but close enough to get around easily. We can take the gondola over to the village, or there is a shuttle that can take us to the new downtown... there is also a bus provided by the city to help us navigate and get around.... Super nice to park and then enjoy this cool mountain town The staff are really nice and accommodating, the beds are super comfortable, we stayed in a room with a loft and little kitchenette which was perfect for us. The pool and hot tub are great and very convenient . The only reason for 4 stars, the property is a little run down and dated... that said, it's super clean and we are very pleased read more

Great place for the value. The vintage hotel is the first hotel when you turn from the interstate into Winter Park. They have free parking for their guests, and they give you a pass when you check in for the duration of your stay.This is a great location conveniently located right across walking distance from the Cabriolet and the Coca Cola tubing hill. The cabriolet when open takes you to the base of the village there's a town shuttle to when the cabriolet is closed. They also have a heated outdoor pool and a big rectangular hot tub too, the jets are awesome and the temp is good. They don't have a gym or a restaurant but the village and the slopes are a 2.5 minute cabriolet ride away. The rooms are spacious all equipped with a nice size mini fridge and a microwave but if you get a suite or anything other than the hotel room you get a kitchenette. The town of Frazer is 10 minute drive away and they've a Safeway so save some money and make your meals. It worked out great for our trip. This is a very family friendly hotel and resort. P.S If you're wanting a quick elevator ride then avoid elevator B lol. Otherwise the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to enjoy winter park or nearby grand lake! read more

The only downfall to this hotel is that the walls are very thin, so you can hear conversations out in the hallway and in other rooms. I would give negative starts if Yelp would allow. Spent a night, woke up with bed bugs bite all over. Initially I thought it was some sort of reaction or rash, so went to urgent care to find out that they were likely bedbug bites! Honestly I have no complaints about the Vintage Hotel. It's convenient location at the base of the mountain near Winter Park makes it the prime stay for skiing and the resort. The lift is literally 2 minutes with a great view and you're in the Village! Our room had a fireplace that we took advantage of and our room had a view of the tubing mountain. This is one of the lesser costly places to stay in winter park and for what it is, I'd recommend staying here. Yes the style is dated but it's comfortable. Our kitchenette was also stocked appropriately. The staff is really friendly here and with Covid precautions you don't even need to stop at the front desk. This was my first skiing experience and the Vintage Hotel is a big part of the reason I found it so enjoyable. read more

First you need to know that check in is at 4 Pm and check out 10 AM. So if you're going for one night you don't get a lot of time in the room. We asked for a let check out, noon to be exact, and were denied. Since the lift at the hotel stops operating at 6 we were informed that the shuttle comes by every 20 minutes. We had dinner reservations at the top of the mountain and were trying to figure out the time we needed to leave. The front desk has no idea when it would be coming and seemed to careless when asked. We ended up having to walk both ways which was a bit of an issue with my husband having a bad knee. The room itself was spacious however a bit outdated. We were put next the elevator and ice machine, however that didn't end up being an issue. The bed was comfy as were the pillows. If you're facing the lift in the parking lot that gets a bit noisy when they start and stop it. Apparently it's a pet friendly hotel as there are signs posting that as well as dog treats on the counter. Due to our short stay we did not get to use the other amenities. read more

The property is fine. The rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette and fireplace. There is a nice hot tub area outside. There used to be a restaurant and bar, however, it is now closed. The Cabriolet lift, which takes guests to the Winter Park Resort (restaurants, shops, etc.) closes at 5:30pm, so plan transportation if you go to the resort village for dinner. The shuttle does not appear to run Monday - Wednesday. It is not a far walk, but it's uphill and usually over an ice/snow surface. read more

Hotel staff is some of rudest people/staff we have ever came across. We play 15-20 tournaments all over Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. This is by far the worst hotel we have stayed in to date. Motel 6 woulf has more amenities and nicer staff I would think. read more

We are currently staying at this hotel. We've been here since New Years weekend. Our reservation was until next Sunday. We intend to check out early tomorrow since the experience is so awful. In fact, so awful that I have felt motivated to write a review. CON: - NOISE, NOISE, NOISE, NOISE. We understood the noise during New Year's Eve and wee hours of New Year's day but it has been non-stop all hours of the day. They must bus in hundreds of teenagers and college kids every night. It is a weekday (Wednesday night) and it sounds like a party going on in the pool/jacuzzi area and a 100m race in the hallway. We've had no less than 3-4 people knock on our door and laugh in our face when we open it. I've open it up twice to them pushing luggage carts down the hallway. - Hit-or-miss concierge and customer service. Night crew is OK, day crew is not the least bit accommodating. We used the laundry services. Two machines broke and the other two over-charged us. Essentially, we were told "whatever, can't help you, we don't own them". - Old furnishings and old rug floor that haven't been deep cleaned in a few years. Our wall has scratch marks (see photos) all over the place. PRO: - TV turns on - Ski locker on first floor - Internet is free but spotty - Fridge works well - 2.5 min lift to village and slopes - Parking is plenty and free - Cleaning crew must work hard to clean up after these brats We understand the value and great location of this hotel but how can you enjoy either of those when you can't sleep! read more

Hotel is old, very few outlets, could use some updating, not that conveniently located to ski slopes or restaurants at Winter Park. However, if you're looking for a dog friendly, reasonably priced hotel, somewhat close to the action, this is a good place. Go in with low expectations & you'll be pleasantly surprised. Mostly friendly staff. When we checked in there was one rude staff member that left a bad start to our weekend. However, we had a sense of relief when we woke up and there was a new staff member, who was very friendly. This hotel is very convenient to Winter Park. It's not exactly ski in/out, but you can be on the mountain with a 10 min walk/lift ride. Compared to the other options available, it's close. For our family, there were a few negatives. The beds were great but, for an unknown reason, they went very cheap on the pillows. I mean I'd be surprised if the pillows were more than $5 ea. Bring your own pillow. Our suite was definitely NOT child-friendly! One interior door was very heavy and could literally sever a finger. Everything squeaked like WD-40 had never seen this place. Our suite was next to the elevator and it chimes loudly when it arrives at a floor. I don't understand that. Do people press the call button and head back to their room and wait. Why would it need to be so loud? While we're talking about the elevator, it's one of those noticeably slow moving elevators that just grates on you like when you get the slow gas pump and the experience lasts three times longer than necessary. There is no ability to lock the door from the inside. The handle unlocks the deadbolt automatically and there's no override to lock the deadbolt. This is a dangerous situation when you have a toddler. This makes the room impossible to have a toddler in. I ran into one nice staff member who smiled and responded when addressed but, for the most part, the staff completely ignore you on your way in and out. I'm not that picky but I'm used to hearing something when I walk by a hotel desk on the way in or out. They just stare down at their computers while you walk by. I'm the visitor; you're supposed to make me feel welcome, not the other way around. All in all, I would avoid this place if you have children. If not, it's not terrible and it is very convenient to Winter Park Resort. read more

The Vintage Hotel in Winter Park, Colorado is ideally located for the best possible mountain experience. Rooms are nice, peaceful, tubing and hot tubes on site are both a great way to relax after a fun day skiing. 5 min gondola ride takes you to the village where there are amazing restaurants and many great things to do if not skiing. We originally reserved a pet friendly room at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge but they were the rudest hotel employees I've ever encountered that I had to cancel my reservation. I then booked a room at The Vintage and I should have booked a room here to begin with! It was great to experience friendly front desk employees. Erica was professional and friendly and even let us check-in early without us having to ask for early check-in! She was kind enough to explain where we could walk our dog and pointed us to a nearby trail. Thank you for hiring a friendly staff! We even decided to extend our stay and booked one more night! The room was better than what we expected. It was a great value for the price with plenty of room and a small kitchen. read more

The vintage hotel lives up to it's name. Everything inside is VINTAGE. From the faded carpet, to the beat up furniture, to the 80's TVs - vintage, vintage, vintage. Thankfully, the beds were reasonably comfortable and provided a decent nights sleep. The hot tub outside was pretty nice, and extra large. It was a nice way to relax after skiing. There were other minor inconveniences: - No late checkout offered. - The bar/restaurant in the hotel can't charge to the room. - The provided shower gel smells like a salad. Seriously, it's gross. It might be from the 80s. Overall, if you're staying here it's for convenience. You couldn't beat a short walk to the cabriolet which took you right to the base village. read more

Day 2, a guy was playing loud music at the pool, just below our window. Phone call to desk. We'll take care of it. They didn't. Husband calls, more forceful. No result. I call again. Desk person says he can't ask guy to turn music off. I say well just tell him to use headphones. He says well then he can't hear music in pool. He says, pool closes at 10. It is 6. He actually says well we could close the pool, would you like that? Oh yes. But, really, you can close the pool but you cannot ask people to quiet their music. And so 10 people at hotel could go to pool, put their music on right under your window, and hotel cannot do a darned thing. If you want to stay here and enjoy the peace of the mountains, get a room that is not on the half of the hotel above the pool. read more

My husband and family drove up to Winter Park for the jazz festival. Great show. The Vintage is a compete dump. On the surface it looks ok but OMG. The bed feels like it has rock through out the mattress. We all didn't sleep much and felt like some one beat the cramp out of us. Lord please help them to get new beds soon.....clean some of those nasty stains off the furniture. By all means fix the microwave and stove. I guess you know we won't be coming back.. This was a nice place to stay in June, even though you could basically see tumbleweeds go by (AKA, it was a ghost town). Also, the heat was on WAY too high in the hallways - so much so that it affected the temperature of our room. We had to sleep with the sliding glass door open so as not to suffocate. But between having the door/window open and using the box fan that was in the closet, we managed to make it quite comfortable. Also, the room was clean and spacious, and the front desk and housekeeping staff members were very friendly. And the hotel is VERY dog friendly, which is great. You can take the complimentary gondola down to Old Town Winter Park for food, skiing, mountain biking, and other activities. Downtown Winter Park (not to be confused with Old Town - lol) is about 5 miles away, and there's less expensive food there (and a couple of grocery stores, if you get a room with a kitchenette). The only other bad thing was that some of the windows have an arched window on top that can't be covered with anything, so the 5:30 (!!!) sunrise comes and attacks your face (if you're on the front side of the building). Thankfully my MacGuyver of a fiance stuffed pillows and a couple of articles of clothing up there so we could sleep to a decent hour. And when we were outside, we could see that we weren't the only ones who had done that. I thought the bed was SUPER comfy, and the kitchenette was well stocked with kitchen things. (No oven, though, in case you were wondering.) But the wi-fi was WHOLLY unreliable, working for LITERALLY 30 seconds at a time (at best). I could load 1 page, then I had to wait 60 seconds to load the next. Summary: I'll definitely stay here again if the price is right. Oh, but P.S. I would recommend bringing your own shower gel, unless you like smelling like Pimp Juice. Theirs is NASTY smelling. read more

One night get away. Absolutely loved this hotel. Booking was a breeze on Hotels.com, check in took about 1 minute, and our room was perfect! It was clean, spacious, comfortable and well furnished. We had a king bed, fireplace, living area, and kitchenette. The Five Mountains restaurant was the perfect spot for relaxing after a day of work and then travel. I was pleasantly surprised with the Vintage Hotel. Having stayed at some over-priced mountain resorts previously, I found this place to be surprisingly cozy and inviting. True to its name, the decor is not overly modern or trendy, but perfectly acceptable after a long day on the slopes. The beds are so comfortable! Probably the most updated part of the hotel. The moment I climbed in, I did not want to leave! The hot tub and pool were also nice, particularly given the fact that it was about 20 degrees outside yet both were relaxing and warm to sit in at night. This hotel is well-located and just far enough from the Village of Winter Park to not be directly in it, but a short walk or lift ride away. Parking is free for hotel guests and others, and the Village is easily accessed by the lift (cabriolet) which takes about 2 minutes and drops you into the Village. Busses are also available from the parking lot. While still expensive in the winter months, this is the cheaper of a few options if you want to stay close to the slopes. Also, the hot cider in the afternoon is a very nice touch to welcome you in after a long day in the snow. read more

Cute hotel right by the resort. We found an amazing price on hotels.com and decided to stay the night. They had a little gondola ride from the parking lot to town, which the kids loved. The hotel was in off season so the restaurant was closed but there were a lot of places nearby and walking distance. The front desk guy was very nice, as was the other gal who let us borrow a charger for our phone for the night. The only bad part were the rooms are insanely hot, there is no air conditioning and we were literally right next to the pool so if we opened our window we heard the 30 kids who were there for some event screaming and yelling until 10pm. Don't ever get a room by the pool!! The front desk were really nice and offered to bring us more fans or switch rooms which we didn't as the kids finally fell asleep, and as you know you let kids sleep! If you have a dog (we don't) you can bring them. read more

Stayed in the lobby after getting my tubing pass which is situated at the first floor of the hotel. Hotel guests have their own lockers for their ski equipment. The bathroom is very nice, well maintained and scented, also there is a tray for sanitary napkins & tampon for free, that is sufficient. Lobby wasn't large, there just enough space for the check-in counter and a couch, The front desk is very sufficient and would check in & check out guests quickly. I will consider staying here if I will ski consecutive days. Also they allow pets. read more

I very much enjoyed my stay here! The hotel has everything you need and is in close proximity to the Winter Park resort where you can ski, snow tube or mountain bike in the summer. The hotel has a free gondola ride that takes you to the ski area (2.5 minutes round trip). The gondola has no seats and is down when there is variable weather. The hotel lobby isn't impressive but they do have a snack area where you can buy milk, cereal or muffins. This place is dog friendly but you can easily request rooms that don't allow pets if you have allergies or a preference for such. My hotel room had a view of the trees and pool/hot tub. Hot tub and pool opens until 10 PM. I appreciated this because it got pretty loud out there. The pool and tub are pretty standard looking. My room had a kitchenette and a fireplace. There is a restaurant downstairs by the lobby but I can't make any remarks about it because I did not try it. It looked pretty empty when I was here. There is plenty of parking but you will need a parking slip from the lobby folks. The hallways are warm and toasty and the hotel rooms give you a travel makeup wipe! read more
