Small town bar and restaurant that looks like they can really pack them in. We set up in the balcony for an early dinner and we had their specialty pizza. The pizza was surprisingly very good. The new rooftop patio was beautiful! It creates a relaxing vibe with a great view of the lake. Service was top-notch all around. Initially we ordered wings since they were on special, and they were delicious. Things took a slight turn when we ordered build-your-own-burgers to-go for some family members, as well as shrimp tacos. 20+ dollars for a burger is absurd, and $3 up charge for fries or tots? My shrimp tacos were literally shrimp and tortillas. Though the shrimp was delicious, I would have appreciated other taco fixings (anything--even just cabbage or pico?). Overall I'd go back as the general experience and food was great. I'd stay away from the BYOB and it's $2 per ingredient charge. read more

Food is awful. The prices on the menu are not what are shown when you pay, and they never tell you. DO NOT GET A MULE. They have very watery ginger beer and will not remake it for you. The atmosphere even on a sub zero temp day was so welcoming. Food was delicious. We had the spinach artichoke dip in a bread bowl and after my son arrived there wasnt a crunb left. Had the most amazing dinner and wine tonight at Vino Etc. Our server took the time to let us try multiple wines while setting us up with the perfect pairing with our dinner. The staff shared with us their amazing wine club and talked us through the history of the restaurant and the wines we tried. It has been a long time since I've had such an amazing dining experience. Can't believe I forgot to post a review after stopping in an enjoying a number of evenings at Vino Etcetera. Had a great time in their lower level tasting wine, bourbons, and beer. We also had a great selection of cheese to taste and enjoy. I was happy when on the main level they had live music. The gentleman playing there this night was perfect for a mixed crowd of young and old. I also enjoyed sitting at the bar as a staff graciously took care of the customers. There's a beautiful municipal parking lot in the back along the lake. The city has done a great job of making this an enjoyable place to visit and walk. read more

Food and service is always wonderful! We love to sit on the roof for dinner, and catch the sunsetting on the lake. The Moscow Mules are so yummy and fresh tasting! The spinach and artichoke dip comes in a perfectly toasted bread bowl!!!! The steak bites are tender and juicy!!! read more

I'm so glad we came across their little sign out front and stopped in here. My mom worked in this building decades ago when it was a clothing store, so it was just fun to go back in! Anyway, enough nostalgia... on to the venue! They've got a huge selection of wine, and lots of comfortable, private seating. If you're looking for a place to bring a date that isn't the typical Oconomowoc bar, I highly encourage you to give Vino Etcetera a try. And, stay calm - if you're not much for wine, they've got plenty of beer to serve up, too. I really can't say enough good things about this place. We came here to redeem a Groupon for a wine cheese and chocolate pairing. There was a very cool atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming. We sat on a couch by the fireplace and she brought us our samples. We got three good sized samples of wine and it was very good. However the cheese and chocolate pairing left much to be desired. We got 3 chocolate samples (some of which I recognized as Aldi brand chocolate) and one massive block of cheese with crackers, not a pairing. Overall I think it was overpriced for what we got, but the atmosphere and the wine was great. read more

So I know Vino Etcetera took over Lakers bar but maybe they should have stuck to just wine. If you are going to have a bar or eatery with a bar you should make sure to hire people that will make your business grow. By putting people in place that think they can do the job but in reality have no clue what it takes to make a bar successful, is a sure fire way to create a unsatisfied customer. Recently during a parade event, busy but so busy, we went in for a simple drink. No big deal, right? Here is the good part. 5 people walking back and forth behind the bar, not one sticking to a section of the bar, walked past myself and 3 others more than a dozen times in the ten minutes we stood there. Others who happen to walk in well after we did, walked right up to the bar, again, telling you they were not so busy as to have two to three people deep, got served because they happened to be right in front of the bartender at that moment. A good bartender will know their bar at any given moment and know by a quick scan who has been served and who has been waiting. Just taking the next patron who happens to be standing in front of you will loose new customers faster than they are coming in. read more

Back in town with my sister and just like a small town establishment, the owner let us in early and served us immediately. It's a beautiful establishment with a large selection of wine and bourbon. I love this place. Great wine, awesome atmosphere. I always make it here when I'm visiting home. They are a little old fashioned in that if they think you are not able to drive they really try to push the Taxi on you like they are making commission or something. The trick to get around that is to park up the street and tell them you got dropped off or are with friends, that way you can get to your car in piece without them hassling you for no reason. read more

I went her for a bridal shower and I was glad to find this place. The accommodations were excellent. I was very happy with the relaxed feel of the place. You can comfortably sit back and enjoy a bottle of wine. This is the only wine shop I have been to that offers a cozy environment. The owner had a wine trivia game for the bridal shower to play and it was awesome, not only did we sample a variety of wine but we learned an array of knowledge too. Overall this is a great place for a first date, night out with your spouse, friends and also to host parties. Side note: if you are not into wine they also serve other liquor upstairs at the bar area. read more

Outstanding place of business. In all honestly - the majority of wine bars I've ever been too, Vino Etcetera tops them all. My first impression was "meh, just another wine bar", but fortunately I was mistaken. It's quite spacious with an upstairs and downstairs area that includes a couple rooms, all to which carry different furniture styles for anyone who enjoys sipping their fine wine in a particular fashion. Normally, I'd say "woah, diva status", but not for this place. For those of you who have been reading my reviews - you'll see that I am a stickler for lighting and ambience, let me say, this wine bar, stretches far beyond my imagination haha. Oh I couldn't possibly forget these important subjects: music, the staff and of course, the wine. So, this place always has such beautiful talent soothing the souls who stop in. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Lastly, all the styles of wine they provide has proved to be magnificent. This place was everything you want out of a wine bar. Intimate setting, live music (on Friday & Saturday nights), great wines, craft beers, & spirits, and outstanding service. Annie was our server and she was absolutely fantastic!!! She walked us through the menu, made suggestions, and brought us tasters. By the end of the night, I purchased a bottle of the wine I had been drinking, the One Hope Cabernet Sauvignon. Beautiful place. Great location downtown Oconomowoc. Unfortunately, one of the owners who served us, was far from being any kind of wine aficionado, and the wine selection here is sub-par. We were also a bit insulted at immediately being told "if" we wanted to sit outside at their tables we'd have to use a plastic cup. Not because there is a city ordinance, but because there have been 'too many accidents'. I sympathize, however, I'm not going to spend $12+ dollars for a plastic cup of wine. If you truly have an appreciation for wine - head down the road to Wine Maniacs. But if you don't mind paying $12+ a glass for sub-par wine then this place is for you. read more

What a find! A cool vintage building, comfy lounge seating and a great bar, amazing wine selection, live music and a generous owner who's more than happy to pour generous tastes while talking the wine talk that we oenophiles love to hear! We loved this wine bar, gift shop, art gallery combo. We were there a couple of months ago. My husband had a great time testing wine while I shopped. They were so nice and the atmosphere was so easy going that I didn't even mind sitting with my husband while he bought a couple of glasses of wine. We even went back the following day to get a couple more items. Loved it! read more
