The service from the time we arrived till the end of dinner was perfect. Rob, our server was attentive and polite. The ambiance was lovely as well. I love a restaurant with white tablecloths and lights on the table. We were seated at a window with a view of the lake. The wine list was extensive. As was the cocktail menu. My martini was perfect. As was my husband's Manhattan. We ordered the meatballs as a anti-pasta starter. That's where things started to go wrong.. the meatball was to be made of short ribs, peas, and rice. There was a tiny speck of short rib. One. Tiny. Speck. It was all rice. My husbands dish was amazing. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan. It was probably the worst I've ever had. Rubbery and lacking flavor. I normally love eggplant Parmesan. How can you screw this up? They knew we were there for our anniversary. Not one person mentioned it, until we did. Rob did bring us a complimentary dessert, which was very sweet. Overall, I would not return. Maybe for a lunch, but not for dinner.

You get a card that's attached to your method of payment, and then you just insert it into the dispenser of the wine you'd like to try. All the prices are displayed for each pour you could choose, which I much appreciated. I want to know the damage before I get the check. Hubby stuck with whiskey cocktails; that and the wine were terrific. We did a little build your own charcuterie which was very reasonably priced and presented so damn cute. They have a cheese shop for tourists like us to load up on WI cheese to take big ass charcuterie spreads back to the hotel (and home). The staff were so friendly. We had an absolute blast here and would go out of our way to come back if ever in the area.

Yes, downtown Waukesha can be difficult to drive and find parking but there really is plenty of parking. Cheers!

We had reservations at 6:00 on a Saturday night. (It was cold, a little drizzly, and windy out.) The front entrance has several steep steps, and when you walk through, you are literally at the host station. They were going to seat us right behind the host station, but we knew it was going to be a problem as people went in and out. We asked to be seated a little farther from the door, and after a bit of discussion (it sounded like this was going to be a little issue), they were able to find a table for two in the parlor. So glad! Got settled in right away with menus and waters. Our server did a good job of getting us up to speed on the menu, the service, and the cocktails. They did a very good job throughout the evening (thanks, Roberto). We settled on the Window Seat (Beef Tallow and Rosemary Washed Vodka, crazy but true) and the Night Clubbing (with espresso-infused Campari). Both were very good choices. We decided that we wanted to start with three dishes and then regroup if we needed more. These included the Bok Choy Salad, Cumin and Cinnamon Braised Pork Shoulder, and Venison Tartare (Dijon Ice Cream?). The Bok Choy Salad was a real surprise, with the entire collection being so bright and flavorful. The dates had a meaty quality. The dressing with Nuoc Cham was savory with just a bit of heat. We both decided that we could have made an entire meal of that. The Pork Shoulder came next and was a good portion, with the meat tender and flavorful. The Quinoa Polenta was interesting, but I can't say that it was something I would seek out. I have had Beef Tartare before, but this was a first for Venison Tartare, so of course I just had to order it. What struck me first was that the entire thing (not just the Dijon Ice Cream) was very cold, almost frozen. I tried a couple of bites, and it was so cold that unless you let it sit in your mouth to thaw out, it was somewhat tasteless. I spread it around the plate to thaw out, and it was a big improvement. It's a good-sized portion, and even after loading up on the three pieces of bread, there was still plenty left (maybe a couple more pieces of bread?). There were a couple of desserts that we would have loved to try, but we were full and had a performance to attend. So we will have to wait until next time. Really enjoyed our first dinner. Loved the inventiveness of the menu. The staff all seem to really care about the business and the diners. With the placement of the front door and the draftiness of the dining room, we will likely book our next dinner when the weather turns warmer.

I also tried a mocktail version of La Pucelle, it wasn't explicitly listed in the mocktails section so you can order a mocktail version of some the alcoholic cocktails. For dessert I tried the Panna Cotta, it was my first time ever trying it and tho go get it was really good. It had a pomegranate sorbet scoop on top sprinkled with frankincense laid on a bed of shaved ice with the creamy base at the bottom of the bowl. It was refreshing! Their front patio is very welcoming and has plenty of seating. We opted for inside however, as it was a tad chilly during our visit. The inside is welcoming too though: rustic like bar area, big dining room, and an open kitchen. Shout out Scott for taking care of us- what and friendly guy, with attentive service. Not to mention he knew everything on that menu like the back of his hand. Big fan of both my gin martini, and my blackened grouper entree. And let me tell ya it was a tough pick because there are tons of delicious-sounding options here. But in the end, that grouper was perfect. It came atop of multigrain rice, roasted red peppers, spinach, black beans, and mushrooms. Plus the roasted red pepper cream sauce was chefs kiss. Everyone else at the table also cleared their plates: thin crust pizza, short ribs, and sea scallop risotto. Clearly you can't go wrong here. Definitely a bit on the pricey side in my opinion, but I suppose you do get what you pay for!

I was impressed by the variety I believe Uncorkt has something for everyone to indulge in. They also have a nice selection of snacks. I was a little underwhelmed with the customer service. There were two employees working and a couple of customers enjoying a bottle of wine when we arrived. None of the staff made eye contact with us or said hello. We browsed around a bit and when I picked a beverage I took it to the counter to ask about their process....do we pay then find a seat, do we start a tab, etc. The person that I spoke with informed me I had to pay for my beverage, and was very short with me when I asked clarification questions - I couldn't get a smile or laugh out of her. I'm sure masks make it hard to understand each other, but the whole interaction felt awkward and not very welcoming. Later a local family that this employee knew came in, and she was very nice warm to them, so I guess she just didn't want to warm up to me. My husband said the other employee was helpful & friendly.
