He casually and invitingly asks "Do you want a haircut?" I paused in my tracks.. thought to myself how I actually do need one.. and said "Sure, let's do it!" Now I had no previous knowledge of Razor MD or of George, so naturally I was a little nervous getting a haircut without checking what my fellow Yelpers had to say.. but his confidence really put me at ease. They are a family shop, his uncle and nephew also own the place. George commutes every day from Flushing so you have to commend that kind of dedication. Not only is he super skilled with a pair of scissors, razor, and buzzers, but he is both super efficient and very funny. He reminds of my grandpa's barber, who still cuts to this day over in Queens. Old school, charming, and laid back. We both talked about life, our backgrounds, relationships, you name it. To top it off, he even styled my hair better than I ever could! I had a work dinner to attend to later that evening and to be honest, I didn't even go home to shower as I didn't want to ruin it (plus there was no need as he did a great job cleaning any loose hairs up). I'm brand new to the area, having just moved to nearby Baldwin Harbor, so it feels good to have gotten so lucky, so fast. Thank you George for coming out of your store to invite in me. You weren't kidding, you are indeed amongst the best of the best barbers! While slightly steeper than what I'm used to, for $50 (included both beard trim, haircut, fade and line-up), I walked out feeling like a million.

The worker was transparent immediately about being appointment based. However he stated if I could possibly give him a few minutes to reach the shop he will take me immediately since I am only getting an undercut done. I would've been fine with just accepting that they're appointment based for the day off the simple fact that when I called someone answered!! He was patient with my request and not dismissive because I didn't have an appointment. The vibe is definitely simple and straight to the point which I like. No sheep in wolves clothing. I waited no longer than the time he asked me to wait and got my cut by a professional who made sure to clean his hands and equipment before event seeing me, with great customer service and to be honest the same amount of talent as the barbers at "the groomsmen of Long Island". So if you ask me, I would rather spend my hard earned money here than anywhere I have to worry about a barber lacking customer service and also becoming threatening to a female. Barber was Alejandro, I genuinely appreciated your overall cut and the service presented was genuine and patient. Will be coming back with referrals.

It's not cheap, but not too expensive: but hey, you get what you pay for. They take care of you. To be honest, every time I go to Jonny's I walk in looking homeless, and I come out lookin like a stud muffin beast. This place tbh should get wayyyyyyy more clout. Good sh*t Jonny, good shi*. Also they sell ICE. Never bought one bc I'm broke all the time but hey, while Jon is cutting that beautiful hair, feel free to look at the chains out of the corner of your eye. Also, for all your liberal kids, this guy is very sanitary too. Employees all wear masks but the customer chooses. F*ck Cuomo. Also, it's not your everyday casual barbershop lol. This place maddd bougee. Plus apparently a few celebs get their hair cut there. That probably means something . Keep doing what y'all r doing. Nice job Jon. If I could change one thing, I'd probably change the spelling to Johnny bc it bothers me, but hey.. it's your name not mine. All the best - Johnson (Pictures below show a very dramatic difference between homeless and 20 minutes after Jonny's). All y'all barbershop competitors watch the f*ck out. Jonny shooting, and y'all got no vest. Make room. We got a big one.

There was a line but Johnny, who I believe is the owner was quick and friendly to his other patrons. I have a cranky 2 year old and a rambunctious 5 year old but he was able to give them quick, effective short cuts. Without even going into detail, he just asked them if I wanted it short and he went straight to work. $25/each for a kids cut for less than 30 minutes is not bad. Previous barbers are afraid to go very short which makes me need to go in every 2 weeks. He went exactly the amount I was looking for and we won't be back for another 3 weeks. FYI you don't come here for the ambiance. You come for a straight shooter, great service and skills. The price is not bad either. I'll be coming back with my boys.

Amigos is a big barber shop with 10 chairs; I've never had to wait to get my hair cut. Although i have never used it, they boast that they have wi-fi, again i've never used it, but that's because i've never had opportunity to because i've never had to wait for a barber. It's a fun atmosphere with spanish music playing in the background and guys shooting the breeze as they work. What most attracted me to the shop though is that all the barbers are excellent. I've never had a bad experience or a bad cut there. It's as though they assembled the best barbers around and stuck them all in one shop. The only thing i don't care much for is the price. A regular cut will run you $15. In comparison you don't have to look far to get a cut for $10 somewhere else and even $7 on a tuesday or wednesday at a nearby competitor. Still for the quality of cut I don't mind paying a little extra.
