When Mario was alive he said he would rather raise prices than change quality or quantity of the food. Mario's has been known for their super thick and tasty sauce with a lot of depth. No longer. Now it is like a watery enchilada red sauce. It definitely takes away from their signature dish the panzerotti. . Hadthe ham as usual. It used to be that there was plenty of ham. Now you hardly notice it. Husband had the cavatini supremo The only meat in that is pepperoni. He was halfway through and said he only found a part of a piece of pepperoni. Again he also commented immediately on the thin tasteless sauce. Thomas gave us great service! He even provided us with a complimentary cannoli. We had not told him if our disappointment in the quality of the food.

An Absolutely Incredible Experience!…read more WOW! Some places serve great food, but L. May delivers an entire experience! From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, everything was exceptional. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic--attentive, personable, and genuinely wonderful. And the FOOD?! Hands down, some of the best we've ever had. Every bite was incredible! We ended our evening sitting at the bar, chatting with the owner, and honestly, that was the icing on the cake. What an amazing human! You can tell when someone pours their heart into a business, and that passion shines through in every part of L. May. If you haven't been to L. May, you are seriously missing out! This is the kind of place you want to tell everyone about--not just because the food is phenomenal, but because the people make it unforgettable. We will absolutely be back, and we'll be bringing friends!

We usually splurge on a special bottle of wine and look forward to it all year. Unfortunately, after ordering, we were told it was unavailable. Disappointed, we selected another option, only to have the bar manager/buyer come to our table a few minutes later to let us know that choice was also unavailable. She apologized and explained they were in the process of changing and downsizing their wine selection while still using the old menu, and she suggested a comparable alternative. Reluctantly, we agreed. While the wine was delicious, it simply didn't compare to our usual. Although we were thoroughly disappointed, the team went above and beyond to make things right and ensure we still had a wonderful dining experience--they even treated us to dessert. Thank you, Michelle, for always being so lovely.

But the interior was very cool and the area was very pretty. They have a nice outdoor patio, inside bar and table seating. Plus they have several arcade games and sweet merchandise. Service was friendly and everything was clean. They had quite a few beers on tap so I opted for a flight. I sampled the cramden bike-fruited sour, Punchy the clown-sour, Bangers-Strawberry Rhubarb Piehole-gluten free sour, and I Gotta Have My Hops-imperial ipa. They were all really good but my favorite was the strawberry rhubarb. It wasn't overly sour but was more sweet and was just a nice, light, summery drink. For dinner I had the Cuban B-smoked pulled pork, ham, pickle chips, honey mustard, and Swiss cheese on a hoagie roll. It came with a side of fries. The Cuban was delicious. The flavor was Smokey and sweet with a little acidity. It was really well balanced and was very tasty. Highly recommend. The fries were crispy and crunchy and not overly salted. I'd definitely order them again. Highly recommend that you stop in if you're in the area. If we end up around here again, we'll definitely stop in again.

Located right off the Mississippi where…read morethe boats are docked to shore, this is a great place to cast your anchor and hang out for a night and watch some music! When entering the bar you might think you are in a different land, and in a different time! It feels kinda like an Irish pub in a dungeon! But there's a pool table so you know your safe! There are two long bars one on the side room where the music is and one in the main room! I have been here numerous times of the past 10 years and the bar tenders always seem to be the same. And they are great! Prices are great too, you can get your fancy whisky or craft brews, but they also carry cans of PBR, and Old Mil for us on a budget! The music room is great, it has great sound, and Aaron H. who has booked here for years brings in great stuff, a totally curated room of music! The locals just come here cause there is live music and they usually leave satisfied in their choice cause Aaron has great taste! I have been lucky enough to play here a few times and every time I have had a great time! They have a great back patio as well, but like I said they are right off the Mississippi so it might get kinda buggy sometimes! This is a total gem if you find yourself in Dubuque!
