Looked up the reviews of the locals and this place came up. It is away from the heart of downtown, inside a pub on a quiet street. The server was friendly and the service fuss free. The pizza and fillings tasted great, the dough also soft.

Side order of Sidemeat.....Yummy!

My first time here. Went here with 2 coworkers on a recommendation to eat breakfast here. It's a few blocks out of downtown. Easy parking out front or across the street. Cozy. Great menu. Great prices. Great service. Great portions. And the Sidemeat was outstanding. Let the server tell you about it before you order it. So yummy I am going back again soon. I also saw they have lunch specials so I will be trying one of those too.

The real deal. A neighborhood bar that is open all day & night. Drinks are fabulously simple and food is remarkably good! Wing 6 ways with all local sauces, and meat all from local purveyors. But Bobby Hahn, proprietor is also their greatest patron! Go NOW.

I do love their pastas I did take also my mom's friends but they stayed so short in Galena for a two and a half hour drive. Anyways this is memorial Day and I don't have family anymore and I decided to go to Galena Illinois it's very quaint and feels like Gettysburg this restaurant that I went to I really love their Italian food was very busy regards to the ambience but I like how there's different floors and it has that old civil war 1860s feel. Other than that do come here again and try to explore Galena and all the other antique shops and one of a kind small shops for specialties

Children are welcome and there is a limited menu for them as well. But, when you are paying these prices, you expect a little bit more than what VV's has to offer. First, the toasted ravioli's are clearly mass-produced and just heated at the restaurant. Then, people must love the idea of salad and garlic bread (like the OG), but this is not a great offering. The bread is like that you would get at a pizza place with your order of pasta and the salad is literally swamped in onions and dressing. The pasta is house made, and fine, but that was about all that was okay. The veal marsala is just odd. The sauce is the consistency of a thick, brown gravy and it just serves to disguise the over-cooked meat. At over $100 for one adult and two kids, you'd be better-off elsewhere. Extra star for the wonderful service from Gracie.

I felt compelled to leave this review because exceptional service like hers deserves to be recognized. From the moment we sat down, Lexi was attentive, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. She had an answer to every single question we asked -- not just about the menu, but about the business itself. She knew so much about Bread & Vine that I genuinely thought she might be the owner. That level of pride and understanding is rare and speaks volumes about her professionalism. What really stood out was how accommodating and engaging she was. She made thoughtful recommendations, not only for food and drinks, but also for other places to visit and things to do around Galena. It truly elevated our entire experience. Because of her suggestions and the way she described everything so well, we ended up ordering (and purchasing) more than we originally planned -- simply because we trusted her recommendations. Lexi is the kind of employee every business hopes to have. She represents Bread & Vine with confidence, warmth, and expertise. She absolutely deserves recognition -- and in my opinion, a raise -- for the way she goes above and beyond for guests. I hope she sees this and I hope this reaches someone as important as her. We'll definitely be back, and a big reason why is Lexi.

We loved everything about our meals and we got to start with delicious focaccia and slightly spicy olive oil provided as a starter by the restaurant. We had a great server named Logan and the food was served in a perfectly spaced manner. We started with calamari that had some nice spice to it and served with asparagus and sun dried tomatoes. We also shared a margarita pizza which had perfectly spread basil on top and a crispy crust. I shared the eggplant parmigiana meal with my friend and splitting the eggplant still gave us plenty to eat. Our meal came with a very large salad big enough for the whole table to share. It was perfectly dressed and we ate every last bit of it. We ended with tiramisu, a cannoli and carrot cake, that was a HUGE slice. The desserts were good but not as impressive as our meals. We really loved this place and felt so fortunate to have picked it as our dinner destination!

The prices are okay for the quality and quantity. Bigger place inside than it looks. It's got the main dining room as well as a bar area so there's a choice for the environment you can go to. The menu is pretty big and has more than just sushi or whatever. A lot of the familiar items. There's also some pretty great drinks too. It's about $9 for a pina colada. This is a pretty big one with a cherry and pineapple slice. It's got a few lunch combos. We got the one with 3 rolls. It's about $17 to get your choices. We got it with the avocado, oshinko, and vegetable rolls. Quite filling. The rest of the menu has great stuff. Has to be the best Asian restaurant around here. It's closed Tuesdays. There's a few things for vegetarians.

Our bartender knew where all the beer came from, told us about its history. Her shift was over and she sat next to us and we talked with her. She was the bright spot of this place. She may have been slower than some, but she kicked ass and all I ever ask is people to be knowledgeable and try. She was one of the bright spots of the place Cleanliness was ok. One of the urinals were clogged and spilled on the floor when you flushed. Men's bathroom was kind of dirty. However, the bar itself was pretty clean but it was in the afternoon The food in my opinion was nothing spectacular. It was just ok. We just got a couple of appetizers. Wings and potato skins were fine but again, nothing to go on for. Liquor prices seem to be cheep in my opinion. I believe for this spot in galena it's on the cheeper side. 66 dollars for the food, 4 beers, Bloody Mary and a whiskey on the rocks. You won't beat that in most spots. So would I come back? Absolutely. Yes the men's bathroom is a huge thing in my honest opinion. However, the bartender recommended certain items that we didn't try because we wanted to not eat a ton. The liquor prices seemed quite cheep and the bartender who I believe was Linda did an amazing job.
