They allowed us to bring our own 'cheese' from home to accommodate vegan diet. Crust is airy and delicious. One of my favorites. If we drive 20 miles one way to eat there when the hours on the website said they are open 11AM to 9 and they are closed, we are unhappy. Great view and food taste good. Couple things that stood out to me for improvement: specialty pizza is $5 more than single topping yet there are barely any toppings on the specialty. We got a supreme and I think I saw one onion and green pepper and 3 mushrooms but the single topping was loaded with meat which was great. Recommend saving the money getting single-topping. Understand ordering at the counter but not for just beers. Used to go to Town Clock when I was a kid. Imagine it's been 40+ years ago. Was back in town for the holidays and decided to check out the new spot. Pizza was delicious!! Cheesy, meaty, soft dough with crispy crust edge. My son ordered the pretzel, and it was great too. Only thing that wasn't great was the noise level from the crowd at the bar and then having a bunch of rear ends so close to our meal. I'd suggest sitting in the front room (or patio if open). I grew up in the area and we would eat at the old location during the 70's at least once a month. The food was great then. A deep dish pan pizza came in the pan and was extra thick with lots of toppings and cheese. The crust was awesome. I was back in the area and decided to check it out and found out they had moved. I made the trek out to the new location and was very disappointed in the pan pizza. The pizza was at least half the height as I remember from my last visit at the old location about 10 years ago. Very little sauce and toppings. The crust didn't taste like the old days and was actually blan and was not even crisp. I've had better crust from frozen pizzas. read more

This is the 3rd time we've ordered pizza to-go from them that there's been issues- we try to stay local and loyal to places we like but with the issues that have cost us money I'm not sure we'll be back. There was no discount or options to correct the mistake only the option to make a new pizza and wait another 30 minutes for it to be ready. It was the wrong size, missing items, and I had even asked the person to repeat the order back to me which she did correctly. The person I picked up from said there was no way to know who took the order, which, everything is on computer so I'm not sure how much I believe that. We went on December 5th 2017. There were six of us and we all ordered somthing different. The good: * the pizza: we ordered a large chicken bacon ranch and a family size half hawkeye and half all meat. The pizzas were delicious cheese was gooey while the crust was crispy. * the appetizers: we ordered two combo baskets and cheesey garlic bread they were good but nothing special , just like any other fried appetizer basket. * the price: with everything we orderedplus drinks it was less than 100 dollars. The bad: * our server: She seemed under the influence of something, she was loud, running into things, bumping into people at the table. When we were done eating it took 45 minutes to get our check and another 10 minutes to her to take the payment. Worst patty melt I have ever seen in my life. It was nothing more than a burger on a BUN with one slice of American cheese and sliced but not grilled. onion. We called back when we got the food home and asked the difference between a cheeseburger and a patty melt. The manager wouldn't answer the question or defend the food in any manner. I was wavering between a 3 and a 4 for Town Clock Inn. Is the pizza spectacular? No. But it was good, solid pizza. It was one of the few downtown restaurants open for dinner on a weeknight so I was happy to find it. It's kid-friendly and vegetarian friendly. The service was friendly and helpful. In spite of the food being good, I still think this place only gets one star. I have quite a story here. So I was there with my mom and aunt, and we decided to come here for lunch because the pizza is good. My aunt asked for a request, and a man, a jerk said, "We can't do that, but thank you for asking." The "thank you for asking" part was sarcasm, according to the only nice person in there, our waitress. We then asked when they stop making pizzas, whether it was 1:15, the time when the buffet closed, or a certain time before 1:15. The jerky man said they closed at 1:15, but never did we get a proper response. So we spoke to the manager, and Mom complains about the service (you're glad Dad wasn't there) to that B, using words not OK for this site, and the manager never kindly responds with an "I'm sorry for that" or bothers to make the situation better, all she does is to quit yelling. The manager needs to take it like a woman and toughen up, all she does is tell her that she needs to lighten up on the language. Pizza was good, and we then tell the waitress that she was kind in comparison to that man in the kitchen and that B manager (I don't want to spell out the word). The Town Clock Inn's clock is broken for me. Basically what I am saying is never come here. I will stay away from here forever and I recommend you take your time, money, and appetite to Happy Joe's, conveniently located by Kennedy Mall. The Town Clock Inn is an old Dubuque pizza joint which has been around seemingly forever. It's short on atmosphere, although I love the fact that it's located in the basement of an office building! It gives the place an air of mystery - or at least, it did when I was younger. In fact, most of my memories are from fifteen to twenty years ago, when I was in high school and Ms. Pac Man was the queen of the arcade. But I went back recently, and I'm happy to report that the pizza is still quite good and VERY reasonably priced. My mother and I are from out of town. When I was googling places to eat I wanted something unique and not a chain restaurant. Found this place and wanted to give it a try. I did not have the buffet so I can't say much for that but we got a pizza and it was The Most Delicious Pizza I've had!! The first thing that I have to say is that it was the best pizza I've had in a while, but with that said, going to this place was a very odd experience for me. My date and I had saw a local commercial on TV and decided to try this place out. We walked down the stairs into the restaurant which looked like a normal pizza and bar setup on the inside, and stood there... And stood there... And then some more standing... No one came to help us, and even when we decided to just go and sit down at a table, no one still came for like 5 more minutes, and the place didn't seem to be that busy (there were 5 tables with people at them I believe). This waiting felt like it took about 15 - 20 minutes from when we first entered the building, until a waitress finally came over to our table. My date kinda wanted to just order to go, probably because of the service so far, but we decided to stay, and ordered a medium pizza. We got our drinks and waited for the pizza which came in about the usual time you get pizzas at restaurants. The pizza was really good! But after I started eating the waitress never came back to refill our drinks until my date finally asked her to. Be careful when ordering pizza, a medium usually fills my date and I with a little bit left over at a normal restaurant, but here it seemed to be a little smaller and we needed to snack afterword. The pizza is relatively inexpensive though, so it's worth just getting a large or family size (which was huge, the people sitting next to us had gotten one). A large probably would have been perfect for us with a little left over. read more
