The food was excellent! I don't live in Nashville but I will be back for these flavors. The shop is nice and cute inside, with a cozy atmosphere. our waiter was perfect and made sure everything was taken care of.

So so happy we found this place! Very authentic!! Got the meatball pho and it was clean and very flavorful! We also got the egg rolls and spring rolls, both good! Service was great!

Pitiful amount of bean sprouts and 2 small branches of not-so-fresh basil.

I dined at Vinh-Long on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 1 pm. I had a less than ideal experience here. Even though the menu offers a good variety of mostly Vietnamese and some Japanese dishes at affordable prices, I felt that there was a lot to be desired in the quality.... To the point that I'd rather pay more for better quality bowl of pho. Walking into the small establishment, it felt very tight and almost claustrophobic. The tables were close together so you're almost sharing a table with everyone seated around you. The restaurant also smelled musty as soon as I walked in. My bowl of pho was below average. The broth was very cloudy, which is a sign that the impurities were not properly removed. At the end of the meal, the cloudiness had separated and settled to the bottom, which was off putting. The broth tasted like it looked, imbalanced and under-seasoned. I had only 3 small meatballs in my medium size bowl, and I thought that was stingy. 3 larger size beef balls would have sufficed. The beef balls were soft in texture, which I guess that is the cheaper type of beef balls. The sliced flank tasted fine. The tray of bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeño to supplement the pho was pitiful. I had to ask for more and I got a second plate of the same quantity. All the basil leaves had black spots on it. As this establishment is cash only, I think that would be a slight inconvenience for some folks. Also, it can get busy during peak hours, so expect some wait. The establishment seems to have a fast turnover so, I would not expect to wait long. Overall, I think if you want some place cheap with a variety of average food, this place is for you.

    Spring rolls, tempura squid

The Pho Tái is very savory and delicious! I always eat it with Spring rolls and Tempura Squid which are ALSO very good. Such a good healthy meal especially if you go to the gym! Love me some Vinh-Long every Sunday :) The family is so nice they always welcome you and they give you a timer when it's busy! It's very relaxing and nice to eat at - looking forward to eating here in the winter.

I haven't been here in years just cause my schedule doesn't workout with their hours. They close pretty early and it's closed on Mondays. As we walked in, I noticed they did some upgrades but I definitely feel like there's more they can do, like get a new kitchen door. It looked like it's been kicked to death and I didn't want to use their restroom. I always go for the beef stew, the meat wasn't as tender, but the stew was still good. Got the pork chop plate togo. The pork chop was thin but it had good flavor to it. I still hate that it's cash only but, hey it works for them. I'm glad they're still around since 2002!

    Chicken pho, gyoza, thai tea

OMG I can't stop coming to this spot!! The pho is flavorful, the rice was delicious, and this was some of the best gyoza I've had to date. I didn't care for the thai tea but to each their own! The hours are a bit funny, and you do need cash to order but it's so worth it. The servers are always so kind and helpful, and you get a true family feel while you're inside. If you do have to wait for a table, I'd suggest going to do a lil quick shopping at the shop next door!

Some of the best pho in the city!!! This little restaurant is so good. I went during lunch and it was crowded for a to go order. The wait was pretty sick but because of the size of the restaurant they gave me a pager and told me to wait outside in my car. Once I got home with my food everything was packaged perfectly. The pho itself was well seasoned and tasted amazing!!!! The egg rolls were average. But they so be my new neighborhood pho restaurant

    Drip coffee

My go to spot for pho. It can get pretty packed here. I don't think there was ever a time where I went and it wasn't packed. I think the people here are pretty nice, also. I like it here because they're the only ones I know that still actually do the drip coffee. (Iced coffee) Pretty much, you wait til the coffee drips, stir it with the condensed milk, then add it to your cup of ice. I don't think I've ever tried anything here that I didn't like. As far as their pho goes, it's pretty good. The broth has a good flavor going and I think from the noodles to meats, it's a pretty good amount in your bowl. When you're done, just walk up to the counter and pay! :)

We…read morehad made reservations, but when we arrived, the place was completely empty, so reservations didn't seem necessary. We were seated right away and quickly decided what we wanted to order. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. There were two staff members present: one behind the bar and one in the dining are. After being seated, no one acknowledged us. We waited about 15 minutes without anyone offering water, taking our order, or even checking in. What made it more frustrating was when another guest came in and was immediately greeted and served water, while we were still being ignored. At that point, it became clear we weren't going to receive service, so we decided to leave. As we walked out, the staff watched us go without saying a word or attempting to address the situation. We ended up going to The Smiling Elephant, where we had a completely different experience--friendly service and great food. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Wasted Soup dumplings are so damn cool. It's also either an engineering marvel or some sort of biblical miracle. How is the soup born inside the little dumpling?? So many questions!! I had some here and they were sure tasty!! I also had some killer crispy fried pork belly and some kick ass twice fried Korean wings!! Pork belly had tremendous umami flavors and was sticky sweet and yummy all at once! Loved it! But then came the Star.... I love chicken wings as much as I love life! That my friend, is a whole fucking lot!! I am more full of myself than you could possibly imagine. I loved these particular chicken wings a little more than life. The ambience is bright and energetic, with fun neon signs and decor. The space feels open and spacious with plenty of seating. We started our night with the Pork Belly Bao Buns, but since they were out of pork belly, we tried the Chinese BBQ Pork instead. I wasn't upset because they were phenomenal. The Soup Dumplings were just as amazing, but the Roti Canai (Malaysian flatbreads with curry sauce) stole the show. The curry was rich with the perfect amount of spice. You're missing out if you skip the appetizers here. For my entrée, I ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Noodle Soup, and all I can say is wow. The broth and tender wontons were the perfect combination. My boyfriend loved his Pad Thai as well, and the only downside was the portion size for the price. I want to give a huge shoutout to our server, Jaylen, for making the experience top-notch. He was incredibly attentive, patient, and offered great recommendations through the night. Hawkers is on my list for date nights, ladies' nights, or a casual evening out (especially for drinks and appetizers!)
