I first discovered Vines Art Glass in 2012 on a road trip from LA to Canada. I actually just wanted to get out of the car and stretch my legs for a while, but I was so impressed with the pieces the gallery owner creates on site that I ended up filling any space in my trunk that wasn't already full of luggage. I bought several gorgeous vases to gift to friends and family, in Canada and back here in LA, all of whom were delighted with the beautiful pieces. I gave the blue bouquet vase in one of the photos to my friend's mother on that 2012 trip. She was thrilled with how it looked when sunlight shining through it brought the colors to life. While there, I noticed she had a copper tea set on display so, on a 2013 road trip redux, I bought the brown flat vase for her. Both vases eventually came back to me in her will and are now cherished heirlooms. I bought a lot of beautifully unique glass ornaments on those two road trips, mostly to give to nieces and nephews. Everything was received enthusiastically, especially the vortex marbles. Kids are fascinated by the whirling vortex inside when they spin the marble like a top. (Actually, I am too!) They've become so popular amongst my extended family that I've now had to buy more lest I disappoint the younger kids who are approaching the age where I think they're ready for something like that. The photo shows the 24 marbles I received via courier today, plus the clear glass w/glitter marble that I bought in 2012. I made sure I bought enough so I can keep a few for myself! I hope to make it back to Bandon to visit the gallery again soon. The glass is uniquely beautiful, and the gallery owners are a pleasure to work with!

Beautifully designed blown glass vases, ornaments, marbles and sculpture.

Owner and artist, Bryce Dimitruk, has a lovely gallery space filled with museum quality glass pieces. He creates these amazing pieces in his studio right on the same property behind the gallery. Very helpful staff and a beautiful space to pick up that special gift. Prices range from $35. to $1,000.

We enjoyed talking to Bryce, who was friendly and conversational, but not overbearing or trying to upsell us.

We visit whenever we're in Southern Oregon and are never disappointed. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of visiting is that this is a working studio. Glass is blown almost every day and it's an engaging activity to watch. Perusing the gallery or watching new items being created is a great way to start to understand what you might like (or imagine broader possibilities than you might have walking in). If you're new to blown glass or merely curious, an entry point is their Orbs - which are amazing upgrades to any Christmas trees. Their amazing range of colors and gorgeous swirled patterns are spellbinding in the way they catch the lights on your tree. And that's only the beginning. If that's not your holiday, they have pumpkins, snowpeople and a range of other entertaining options. Beyond the holiday wares, they have a diversity of glassware ranging from beautiful wine stems and champagne flutes to chunkier highballs, daily tableware and a vast array of other vessels of every shape/size/color/pattern/wow. And then there's the artwork. This is where things get truly impressive. They have an array of vases and bowls in different shape/size/color/pattern/wow and a wider variety of broader glass artwork too diverse to describe here. These make unique, exceptional gifts that to lean into when your recipient deserves something which transcends what you might find in our homogenous world of online shopping. Custom artwork is not inexpensive, but we find the prices very reasonable for the quality of the products offered. Concerned about the treasure you find not making it home in your plane/train/automobile? In addition to being master craftsmen of glassblowing, they are ninja packagers of their wares. We have trusted them to ship our treasures home several times (including this trip) and have never been disappointed. The Glass Forge is an experience. The master craftsmen working there are gifted. Their products are works of art. Visiting is an opportunity not to be missed.

There were a variety of color choices and for me the best part was loads of glass to look at to get a visual idea. We go back and we have Keegan as our instructor. He's amazing. he's very patient super knowledgeable, and parting knowledge while giving instruction. When you select your item to make be aware that some items are former complex and others. One of the members in our group made the paperweight. It was a fascinating process to watch however, it was a lot of work. I did a pumpkin and it turned out so much better than I could've ever imagined. I would definitely come back here again

HIGHLY recommend the Minestrone Soup. It was piping hot, super chunky (full of chopped veggies), and a good portion size for the price ($7). Also highly recommend the pizza (I only tried the pepperoni and sausage, but I'm sure they are all good)! Thin crust that was super crispy, it had a good cheese pull, plenty of toppings, and really yummy, tangy red sauce. The Chicken Parmesan entree was good BUT it came out lukewarm (the chicken & the pasta/sauce). The entire dish would have benefited from a few minutes under the broiler. In addition to great food our server Julie was also awesome! She handled some odd requests from me (like no Parmesan cheese on my pizza) and everything came out perfectly! I really appreciate her attention to detail when putting our order in :) the entire staff (inc. the buses and food runners) had good hustle and attention to detail; our table was cleared promptly when we finished a dish, drinks refilled, etc. Just FYI the ambiance in the bar was pretty casual (we went straight to dinner after using the spa at The Lodge). Two big TVs were playing college football. It was dark by the time we got there, so I didn't get to see the view, But it sounds like it's pretty beautiful. I might go back this weekend for breakfast or lunch!

Rayvon was our waiter and he was excellent! His pace was perfect. We asked about favorite meals and we chose 3 of his 3 suggestions and were exceptionally pleased. Chicken parm, chicken piccata and bolognese were so good. Since there were 4 of us and only three suggestions (and I have a rule that no one can order the same thing) I chose the rigatoni pompadour. We shared all of our meals so everyone could have a bite to taste. The homemade pasta was so good. The taste, presentation, and portions were perfect We started with the meatballs and focaccia bread. Again, so good. Four meatballs, 4 pieces of bread, 4 people, perfect starters. We finished with the cookie skillet. Again, Rayvon came through with the suggestion of an extra scoop of ice cream which was exactly what we needed as we split the dessert. Our experience and food was so good it ended up being our fav place.

Redfish LOFT - Enjoy the romantic open floor plan with huge ocean views (even from the bath tub!)

Being such a nice room, it has an absolutely incredible ocean view -- as good as they get! But wait, there's more: EVERYONE, from restaurant staff to the owners, is as nice and helpful/REAL as people get. I LOVE this place, and, BTW, it has the best restaurant on the Oregon Coast downstairs. And, we were there on a very quiet, romantic night. It was fun pretending we could afford it all! Love and thanks to everyone there, Bill and Donna

At the time of this writing, it's only a little over a year old. Very upscale looking and classy, with works of art throughout the loft. You'll find a bamboo floor and a large, comfy couch. At your disposal, you have a flat screen television with cable, mini-fridge, coffee maker (fresh coffee, tea, cider, nuts, etc are provided), iPod dock, free Wifi, king-sized bed, gas fireplace, walk-in, stone shower, large soaking tub, and one of the most gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean on the coast. You can have wine and food delivered to the Loft from the restaurant below or go down for a bite. The only downside is that you may find music soaking through the floor of the Loft from the restaurant below. Also, I would have liked a microwave in the room. Port Orford is a small town with an over-priced grocery store (Ray's Foods) and restaurants that tend to open and close at a whim. Nice place for an Oregon coast stay.
