CAS has been extremely difficult to work with. My lab has been forced to use them for the past…read moreseveral years and their customer service is constantly below par. Everyone in our lab jokes and makes fun of their inconsistent results and shoddy customer service. No one I have worked with thinks highly of them, but we use them because that's what everybody always does when they need a transparency printed. They make errors translating files, blame the error on us, and then charge for the extra time to retranslate the files. These "set-up" fees have been increasing over time to the point that they are outrageous. The problem is that they have a Purchase Order agreement with my university's purchasing department and so we have all been stuck shelling out way too much money for their services. But I have had it, my coworkers have had it, and we are lobbying our purchasing department to use their competitors instead.

I would not recommend them at all. They have suspect business practices when it comes to these…read moreextra translation fees. Their customer service is way below average. They at times appear rude and unprofessional in their correspondences. For example, they went ahead and processed an order without an approval from us. I have had a number of discussions from many of my colleagues on email and social sites about their poor service. Some customer testimonials date back as far as 2010. Here are a few from my colleagues: 1) They messed up my proofs too, then they charged me for doing it again, they are terrible. 2) so we print transparency masks for our microfab instead of using chrome ones. unfortunately there is kind of a monopoly on the market for doing so, and this company seems to find new ways to annoy us every time we send an order (which is probably once a month). they assess charges for file translation (i.e. opening the files we send on their computer and then hitting 'print') and we can't get a straight answer as to what type of files they will accept. the first file you send them is always wrong and it usually takes about 10 emails back and forth to get a transparency sheet printed with your design 3)This whole time I thought it was my fault. I have literally sent them the exact same file with a few changes and the parts that remain unchanged end up being messed up in the translation! I have asked them so many times how to avoid it and they never give me a straight answer either 4)Can't believe I have left almost four years and the CAD /ART drama is still going on! 5)we use them too... i hate how they charge us for "translation fees" even when we have already converted the files for them... ughhhhh! i agree, these guys are terrible 6) I used CAD/Art for the first time and it was not inspiring 7)you'd think that if you claimed to support a standard like postscript or DXF that's been around for literally more years than i have been alive, you would actually have tools that actually and correctly understood those standards, but that is because you are evidently not CAD/Art. 8) We all know their customer service is really bad and random. As Forrest Gump would say: Sending a mask to CadArt is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.
