Delicious food and great service. Came here as part of a food tour and enjoyed it so much that we came back again the last night of our trip. They were very understanding and easily accommodated for my vegetarian diet. My partner loved their ox tail and squid spaghetti, as well. Forgot to take pictures of everything since we were too busy eating. Everything was amazing!

A wine bar and tapas bar located in the Santa Cruz neighborhood of Seville. We actually ended up eating here twice-once as a part of a food tour then a couple of days later on our own. On our second visit they seemed to be a touch understaffed with one English speaking guy doing his best to take care of almost all the tables on the nice patio out front. As with all tapas bars, the kitchen decides what food you get when. We tried quite a few items including fried chicken (not much flavor), arugula salad with tomatoes & buratta (yummy), broccoli and couscous salad (lite and healthy), Argentina's beef (a bit fatty but tasty) and some cheese. With a bottle of Rose wine it was only about 45€-a pretty great value.

    Huevos rotos, over cooked egg

We came to this restaurant for lunch with high expectations especially in regards to their wines. I must say we expected more. The menu seemed in my opinion geared too much to tourists. The quality of the food was not on par with other restaurants we had dined at in the region. There were a few items worth mentioning such as the sweetbreads with mashed potatoes which were tasty and the huevos rotos with ham which was good overall, except one of the eggs was way overcooked.

Squid ink spaghetti with garlic, pesto and grilled scallops (€4.20): great dish for those who always crave some carbs for dinner

Deeply satisfying tapas with a rare combination of great portions and great variety. I was studying Spanish in Seville for a month and my close friend was visiting from the States. We had just watched the sun set over the beautiful Plaza de España and hankered for some traditional tapas. We came across this restaurant on our way back into city center. We put our name down and were told the wait would be half an hour. Although it was well past 9pm, we were completely immersed in the Spanish life of eating late and letting things be, so wait we did. Luckily we did not wander far. In five minutes, several tables opened up, and we were promptly seated in the restaurant. We sat next to the glass wine cellar. Twenty, maybe twenty-five, customers shared the cozy amber hue. Most of the customers were tourists, but there were a few larger tables of locals. The décor was unabashedly quaint. As customary, the waiter took our drinks order first - a tinto de verano (red wine with spritzer) and a clara (beer with lemonade). Both were refreshing reprieves from the 40 degree heat outside. Then we looked at their extensive menus (printed in both Spanish and English) and went to town. Most dishes were offered in tapa, medium, and large. As everything we ordered was tapa-sized and more substantial expected, we can only fathom the absurdity of a "large" portion. = Food = Starters: - Homemade fois gras mi cuit with vanilla oil and caramelized peanuts (€5.20): more of a terrine texture, but still great flavor without being too heavy. Absolutely loved the caramelized peanuts - crunchy, honeyed, and light! It was a great start to the dinner. - King prawn carpaccio with sesame seeds and soy reduction (€4.50): my first time trying prawn carpaccio. Not a fan of prawns generally, and this dish did not change that. But my friend enjoyed the dish and it tasted fresh. Main courses: - Squid ink spaghetti with garlic, pesto and grilled scallops (€4.20): only one scallop for the tapa size, which is to be expected. Unlike other squid ink pasta that tastes solely of squid ink, the garlic and pesto flavors complements and elevates the briny squid ink. Great dish for those who always crave a small portion of carbs for dinner, without ordering an entire plate of pasta. - Grilled "Pluma Ibérica" (Pork) with curry oil pumpkin and fried rocket (€4.70): my favorite dish of the night. The pork was cooked to perfection - tender, moist, and flavorful. I'm not sure I've had better pork before - and I've had a lot of pork growing up in Hong Kong. The curry oil was a surprising addition to the traditional garlic-centric Spanish flavor. I would definitely order this again! - Grilled Argentinian beef fillet with a sweet mustard sauce (€4.70): solid steak, cooked perfectly to medium rare as we ordered. Well salted, but otherwise a standard steak. Stewed oxtail in crispy filo pastry (€4.90): I love oxtail, so I had high hopes for this dish. But I was disappointed. For me, oxtail is still best served on the bone, with the tendons. However, the sauce and the pastry were great. If you've never had oxtail, and are not willing to work your mouth through an oxtail bone, this could be a good dish. Dessert: The dessert dishes were mostly cakes and torts, displayed in a cart by the door. Nothing jumped out at us, so we were content to nurse our food babies with a second round of drinks. At the end of the meal, our waitress forgot our coffee. After we followed up, she apologized and quickly shuffled to the bar to make the coffee herself. She also left the coffee off the bill, and told us it was on the house. = Verdict = I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Seville. Authentic Spanish tapas without being traditionally heavy on olive oil. Both my friend and I had a wonderful night, and left very satisfied.

Just had lunch here - sitting outside in the sun which was lovely! It's a Sunday and it was really busy and not enough staff on so service was a bit slow and brusque. However 3 of our 4 tapas were excellent. The king prawn carpaccio was delish as was the prawn tempura with zucchini and the squid ink pasta. The broccoli couscous not so good. Nice atmosphere sitting outside and on another day if not so busy the service might be better. We will return and see!! Would be 4 star if service was better. Price was very reasonable.

This restaurant will remained forever bookmarked within my Yelp mobile app even after I review it - just to be sure I'll find it again. We walked in quite soggy after battling the elements during a 20-minute walk, armed with only a flimsy umbrella... I'm happy to report that our first meal in Sevilla was one I'd happily repeat again! After selecting a table in the quaint restaurant, we were greeted by a woman who in that moment could have doubled as God - she kindly brought us an extensive wine list so we could get started straight away. While sipping our vibrant Tempranillo blend, we perused the menu and settled on a mix of cold and warm tapas. In a moment, the world had turned from cold to right. The must-trys: - The Moroccan pastry! At the intersection of sweet and savory lies the heart of everything you could ever desire in a dish. Chicken, golden raisins, onions, cinnamon (along with some ingredients I couldn't place) all carefully wrapped in a delicate envelope of warm pastry. - Potato salad with mayonnaise, prawns and tuna. Might sound bizarre to some, but I say it's delicious. - King prawn carpaccio with toasted sesame seeds and soy sauce. As good as it sounds! - Fried San Telmo potatoes and yucca chips served with three savory sauces - Warm red cabbage salad with mascarpone, gorgonzola, raisins, pine nuts and a reduction of balsamic vinegar One glass of wine leisurely turned into a vacation bottle, and soon we were sufficiently warmed with bellies full, ready to take on the world. Well-done, Vinería San Telmo!

I lived in Sevilla for 6 weeks and this is the best restaurant I found in the city. It was also rather affordable, especially considering how good the quality of the food was. Every tapa we ordered was perfectly-sized, delicious, and presented wonderfully. I recommend the duck and the solomillo with jamon iberico de bellota (best ham this world makes). The service was the best we experienced in Sevilla and everyone on the staff speaks English. My girlfriend and I ordered wine, beer, 3 tapas, and dessert and it came out to 22 Euros. Make reservations or you will wait, even on weekdays.

This was one of the best meal we had when we were in Spain this summer. Better get reservation, otherwise, you will be waiting for a long time. Waiters are friendly (but remember that this is a busy place) and you can select to sit inside or outside (we did outside). We had around 10 tapas for 4 people and we were stuffed to the top. Sangria is good also.

    Iberian ham tapa
    Laura P.

Our tour guide recommended this place, and it was solid. Not tourist food at all. We had Iberian ham, manchego with onions, ham-wrapped swordfish with rice, and steak with chips. The last two we got as media-racion. Honestly, for two people, this was too much food! Portions were large. I didn't care for the ham (personal preference! jamon is sacred in Spain, I know) but the cheese and onions were good. Swordfish was a little dry, and the ham didn't work for me. The food wasn't super-delicious, but I think that was due to our palates and what we ordered. The menu looked very promising and a touch upscale. There were locals eating here, and it was very busy.

Dynamic evening group setting with indoor and out options. Great cheese and wine selection with tapas diversity truly enticing for even the most diverse palate. I was really impressed with the tenderloin with mustard sauce, croquettes with ham, and the shrimp. Well, the gazpacho was pretty impressive too. Oh, great quotes everywhere and an upbeat vibe all around.

Tapas should be a thing for most meals, if not all. Though I've been to Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville (all culinary standouts in their own right), I had the best tapas here at Castizo. Their take on the dishes is more innovative and creative, without losing sight of the traditional recipe. Fearing that I would miss out on a table if I didn't have a reservation, I made my way here a few minutes before they opened at 1 pm. There were a few other diners waiting to be one of the first to be seated for lunch, so I felt like this restaurant is quickly growing in popularity. The thoughtful, tastefully trendy decor helps -- the bright blue awning stands out on the side street when you approach, and I got to admire the beautiful tiles by the front door while I waited. It was hard not to over-order, as everyone on the menu sounded tantalizing, but we narrowed it down to some seafood tapas that called out to us. (I had heard that the main dishes here are hit or miss.) We went for the zamburiñas, grilled scallops with spicy chorizo sauce, as I had loved them so much in Barcelona and was intrigued by how Castizo's spicier version would taste. We also got the grilled squid with spicy tomato sauce and lemon mayo, the cod fritters (which I believe came with some black ink sauce on top), the toasted brioche with stewed meat and escabeche mussel, and last but not least, the potato salad with fried baby shrimps. The design of the tile exterior I had admired earlier made yet another appearance later once our dishes arrived -- I appreciated the attention to detail on the literal plates themselves, in a nice callout to Seville's home in the Andalusia region. Everything was delicious and I didn't find the service slow, though after perusing the other reviews here, that might be because I opted for lunch, not dinner.
