I can see that it would get really busy and with a few different areas and buildings in which to eat I can see why other Yelpers have said to specify which part of the venue you want when making a booking. As it wasn't too busy I just hung out in the garden and only one part of the venue had been reserved on the night. I only tried the chorizo plate and a glass of wine as I'd already eaten down the road at Percy's. The chorizo was dressed in a mustard aioli with honey and coriander had just the right mix of sweet and spicy - definitely recommend it. The staff were happy and really helpful as well.

The venue has an array of seating areas including the cosy bar area with the open fire and magnificent bar; the outdoor garden and the extension garden that is quite open (see photo) and which has open fire pits surrounded by bench seating in the colder weather. We shared a variety of small plates and each of them was noteworthy. If it's on the menu, I find it hard to bypass a scallop, so the seared scallops on the cauliflower puree were music to my eyes and magic on my tongue! We also had the delightfully spicy buffalo wings, the sliders of the day (Cajun chook) and the prawns. They were all delicious. Sis and I had a lychee martini each, which was a perfect offset to the spice in the Cajun and the buffalo wings. B-I-L ordered a wine from the fairly extensive menu by the glass. Showcasing the local wines, naturally, this spot seems to tick a lot of boxes. I was quite surprised by the other reviews as I found the service quite sufficient on the night and the food was certainly value for $ and perfectly presented. Judging by the quantity of prestige 4WD's spinning around town, Orange is a spot for the posh weekend jaunts. Bookings are probably recommended. But please note my additional tip.

EXTREMELY rude and hostile waitress. And to preface, I never write negative reviews…read more My husband and our sleeping infant (in his pram) walked into the almost empty restaurant. The waitress seemed bothered and told us to sit in a small table in a dark corner on the far side of the restaurant. We asked to be seated more comfortably and centrally. Her attitude made it seem like we were greatly inconveniencing her with our tiny travel stroller and fast asleep baby. Deciding to make the best of it we placed our lunch order - which arrived COMPLETELY wrong. Every aspect was incorrect (including my husbands burger which was served WITHOUT THE BURGER PATTY and my cole slaw having ZERO dressing (literally dry cabbage)). I politely asked for dressing for the Cole slaw. She snapped and said "this isn't America, we do things differently here" and angrily walked away. A. I am an Australian citizen. We are here visiting family and visit often. We don't think that expecting basic decency at a restaurant is an exclusively American value. B. From the moment we entered the restaurant she seemed angry and the entire experience was tense and awkward. Aside from the hostile service, the portions were tiny and overpriced. Two sandwiches and two beers cost us $100. We would give zero stars if we could.

But our dinner consisted of overpriced, child-sized proportions with no comfortable seating options. $75 for two is highway robbery. My elbows were sticking to the tables and my shoes were stepping in trash on the floor. It was warmer standing at the rails of the three sisters with wind hitting your face than it was while inside here. Yum, I just love my toes going numb while being forced to listen to someone rap the chorus of Stay With Me while I chew on undercooked chicken whose neck was hacked behind the restaurant 30 mins before. Needless to say, we had to go buy dinner again after this. This place has so much potential being right here at Echo Point but instead it's wasted space.

Hubby and I tried several beers and wines, some better than others, but it was fun to give them a go. We also ordered a pumpkin feta pizza, on the recommendation of Joshua, which was very good. Joshua told us stories about local happenings, and gave recommendations of other places to try, and was generally just a very good barkeep. Because of the location so close to the Lookout, I don't know if I'd want to come here during school holidays, but in the off season it's pretty good.

Hidden in up a laneway off Market Street this is a great place to escape to on a hot day…read more The outdoor dining area is a narrow little area wedged between two old buildings. Grape vines span the space between the two buildings creating a cool, shaded area in between. The place has a real rustic feel to it and its obviously popular with the locals as it fills up every lunchtime. They do a great Reuben sandwich which oozes out what I swear is a homemade version of McDonalds big mac sauce. One of the best I've had for sure. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area with water bowls spread around and a few pooches also enjoying a break from the heat on the day I was there. They're only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday night which is a shame as it would be a great dinner venue during the week.

As we were walking around, exploring Mudgee, I spotted a little cobblestone entrance and saw a courtyard covered in vine leaves. We quickly made a reservation for dinner and were not disappointed. We were seated in the courtyard, underneath the vines and there was even a live band playing some soulful tunes. It was absolutely perfect. For dinner we ordered the baked Brie (yes it was as good as it sounds), pumpkin dip with bread and stuffed mushrooms (plenty of vego options available). The food was excellent and we chose some local wine from Mudgee to match. All in all a great atmosphere, wonderful service and great food!
