In no way is this place close to me, but as soon as I saw it pop up on my news feed a couple weeks ago, there was no way I wasn't checking it out. Italian deli with giant subs? Check. Fresh cannolis? Check. The checklist is short of what makes me happy, but it took a little convincing on my part to get my friends to make the trek with me. They're glad they did, and the one that didn't is now incredibly jealous. The worst part about this place is that it's tucked into one of the worst, most congested strip malls in Columbus at the corner of Sawmill and 161. I don't know if it's because of the holiday season, but that parking lot is a mess. As soon as we stepped into Vincenzo's, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. Fresh bread, calzones, and stromboli being made right then. We all ordered the Italian sub, since I had hyped it up so much. It costs $10.99, but it's at least two meals, or you could split it with a friend. I'm talking this sub is probably 12" long, 6" tall, and 6" wide. It's massive. The calzones looked pretty amazing too, so I'm planning on saving those for another day. I also ordered a cannoli, which was dipped in chocolate and had chocolate chips at both ends. The ricotta was awesome and rich, but I could have probably put down a few of them had it not been for that sub. Back to the sub. They use great homemade Italian bread (one loaf) as well as an assortment of meats, and their Italian dressing. It's pretty tasty, and I struggled to get one half down it was so big. I heated the second half up in the oven the next day, and it kept very well. On top of the subs and cannolis, they have all sorts of meats, cheeses, and pre-made dishes that looked like they would be great for takeout. They also have a big Italian wine selection with some pretty pricey bottles (I know nothing about wine, so I don't know if any of them were good or not). The place isn't open on Sundays, so if you decide to make the trip, and you work during the week, Saturday is the best time to go. Everyone working there was super nice and helpful, and I would not hesitate to go back even if it does take me forever to make the round trip. read more

We have gotten food from here twice. The first time we went for sandwiches Saturday afternoon, but they were out of bread. I recommend going before noon if you want a sandwich on a Saturday. We got lasagna and chocolate cannoli instead, and both were delicious. Lasagna was as good as better Italian restaurants. The second time we went, I got a meatball sandwich, and my spouse got an Italian sandwich. Sandwiches were huge and quality was excellent. Hubby ranks Italian sandwich as one of the best he has ever had. I finished my sandwich the next day, and the bread held up pretty well. We will definitely get food there again. read more

This place is authentically Italian with a great variety of breads, wines, pastas, and olives! We ended up getting a couple of bottles of wine since their variety was pretty great compared to other local wine shops. Not a huge selection but nice to see some rare whites from Italy. From their olive bar I ended up getting some gorgonzola stuffed olives which were pretty pricy in my opinion. The flavor was spot on but you got a lot of oil in the container which added to the price. We also got about 5 inches of the sausage bread which was also shockingly pricy and $16. The flavor was really good and the bread was cooke perfectly. I would have loved to have gotten a whole roll but I would probably pass out from the price! The best part of the location was the lady at the entrance making fresh pasta, that's how you know it's authentic! We will definitely be coming back for their rare wines but will probably pass on the food. read more

The bread here is simply wonderful. The top layer--which is crusty, brushed with olive oil, and depending on your loaf, also brushed w sea salt and/or herbs--is perfect, while the middle is very doughy. It might be a little better with a dash of added salt to the dough, but otherwise the texture inside makes it perfect for dipping in olive oil and spices, or just adding some butter. It's warm, fresh, and made with love! The other offerings here are just as good. I've had the eggplant which I'd rate a 6/10. The Chicken Parm was some of the best chicken I've ever tasted and would give that a solid 8/10.. and the red gravy here tastes homemade. However they make it, it's delicious. When the weather is warm on a weekend, take advantage of their grilled sausage that they make right outside or just take some home and enjoy it however you like. This place is definitely a little higher-priced, but I haven't found bread this tasty or fresh any place else around Columbus. read more

Quality is great. However prices are crazy. Bought two slices of lasagna this week. Didn't realize I was charged $27.00 until I got home. Gouging a long time customer is not cool. Should have have gotten the whole tray for that price. Glad Carfagna's is moving to the north end. Sad thing is the owner is clueless to this. read more

How this place can have anything less than 5 stars is just crazy to me! If you want authentic Italian, by a local family, at great prices that tastes AMAZING - then this is your spot! Walking in makes you feel like "home". They go out of the way to make you happy and help with wine selection. I showed up right before Christmas Day and they "found" a bread loaf for me even though I didn't preorder. I am in heaven knowing that this place in our town! I had heard great things about Vincenzo's from multiple people, but it took me over a year to find myself there. Now I am kicking myself for not making it happen sooner. It is tucked in near Trader Joe's off of Sawmill Road and 161, blink and you will miss it. I stopped in for lunch. When I walked in I felt like I was in a wine shop, but I made way to the back. There are two counters tucked in the back both with lots of food options. The first had choices such as chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, fresh made pasta, italian pasta salad, potato salad, and sauteed mushrooms. The next counter had two huge calzones ready to be cut to your liking. The choices that day were pepperoni and cheese, or chicken pesto. I went with the chicken pesto. They weigh your food to determine what you owe. The three of us having calzones for lunch totaled a little over $20. Once I took one bite, I knew my chicken pesto calzone was worth every penny. Another patron sitting next to us had ordered the italian sub, when it arrived at his seat I couldn't believe how huge it was. I wish I could have snapped a picture, but I didn't want to be weird seeing I did not know the gentleman. What was even more amazing is he finished the entire sub himself. I have already planned my next visit to Vincenzo's, my fiance and I will be splitting that italian sub and I can't wait. The last thing I will say, is Vincenzo's definitely comes off as a Mom & Pop establishment and I love that. Everyone working was extremely friendly. They have 3 high top tables inside to sit at. And a couple of outdoor patio tables. My guess is most people stop in to get food, wine, or bread to go. Try it out for yourself. You will fall in love. read more

Vincencio's is a place that you want to try if you your truly searching for great Italian food, quality and service. This is a must try. We 1st visited in 1987 and I have now been there many, many times. The breads, Stromboli's, red sauces and prepared dishes are an example of showing sincere respect for quality ingredients. You can buy gianormous subs that will feed two, or get calzones by the pound. So one guy in the office walks in with a stromboli. Forget 28 days later, by the next day half the office is schlepping across town. Their calzones are outstanding. The stromboli is dripping in grease (that's a virtue), but doesn't make the bread soggy. The sea salt, herb and olive oil baguettes are as good as they sound, and reasonably priced. It was a special night. We had to feed eight adults and three kids for my niece's baptism, including our priest. My sister had flown from L.A. with her 10-day-old baby, so my ailing dad could participate. My wife suggested an Italian dinner, and remember Vincenzo's. She ordered both eggplant and chicken parmesan, pasta, bread and salad. Standing at the counter, I thought I was peering into someone's Italian kitchen. Whom I believed to be the owner was finishing up the preparations, and ensured that we liked the looks of food. Everyone was so friendly in ringing us up and helping load the food into the car. I was looking for an Italian market to buy a nice loaf of bread and cannolis to a friends house for dinner. Vincenzo's is located in the Trader Joe's plaza in Dublin at the end of the plaza. The space is small and cozy and is stocked with everything you could possibly want from an Italian market. Wine, fresh loaves of bread, pepperoni rolls, calzones, prepared foods! Also, when I asked where the cannolis where they said they make them fresh to order! I was excited to see them make them in front of me. The staff was friendly and helped me with my order. This place is one of the rare independent Italian deli's in Columbus. Enjoy it! Stop in for lunch and grab an Italian sub. They are huge and delicious. This review is based on the 2 breads that we ate at dinner last night. First one a boule lightly rolled in olive oil and salted and I don't know these were added after the bread was baked or if the bread was baked with the olive oil and salt...either way FANTASTIC. Same response for the large flat italian bread, olive olil, salt, garlic FANTASTIC. Outside of the boule crusty - and best part - inside soft and moist. On a whim, a friend and I decided to try this store/restaurant/wine shop/take out place located in a strip mall on Sawmill. I am glad we happened into the place. The calzone I had was excellent and fresh tasting. The owner told us they make as much of their food from scratch as they can. He even pointed out his mother in the back of the store; she was making pasta. The atmosphere was intimate and friendly. There is a small patio and about three or four tables squeezed among the merchandise. It felt like I was a friend who just stopped by for a visit. My friend and I both bought prepared food to take home for dinner, too. I will be going back. read more

Called in advance to see if their full lunch menu would be available a bit later in the afternoon and was assured it would be by the rep who answered the phone. When we got there, we were told that it was not possible to get any of the sandwiches because their toasters were off due to the heat. We were guided to their already prepared case of food and ended up getting eggplant Parmesan and veal Parmesan. We also got sides of the tortellini pasta. The eggplant was semi-cooked (we were told it was 100% cooked and only required heating) and had nothing on it (no breading or cheese etc) and was not very good. Ended up throwing most of it out. The veal was decent, but not great. The tortellini was very good. In general, it was not worth the $40 we spent and we were frustrated we had been told that sandwiches would be available, when in fact they weren't. Had we not been in a rush, we would have gone elsewhere. We briefly looked at their wine selection. The reds available were very good. The selection of whites much less so. read more

This places knows, there wines,cheese,fine deli meats. I'm a huge fan of this place and prefer to go here over any other grocery store for these kind of items. Everything, in there food cases is very tasty as well and made from scratch. If you want a truly home cooked Italian food come here. You feel like you are apart of the family. Vincenzo's is Italian done right. So good, so fresh. When I used to work in the Sawmill / 270 area Vincenzo's was the weekly lunch spot that I looked forward to the most. Vincenzo's is primarily a carry-out joint with little-to-no tales inside - which leaves the entire staff available to concentrate on the scrumptious fares you'll be taking with you. Most of my experience here involves a calzone or something similar for a one person lunch but, as Will mentioned, the carry-out pasta for the whole family is the specialty of this small ristorante. Be sure to check out the wine section when you walk through on the way to the counter. For the food being so authentically Italian the wine section should follow more of the same path, in my opinion - there seems to be more from California than the old country but some rare Italian finds (Masi Amarone!) slightly make up for the lack of quantity of good Italian wines. read more

Fantastic place to pick up some of the best take home Italian food. Most foods in the case are sold by the pound so you can get as little or as much as you like. I have had the lasagna multiple times and I do request extra sauce. Today I picked up an Italian sub for lunch. The sub can be purchased uncooked with toppings on the side or they will cook it up for you. I chose to have them heat mine up and put the toppings on after. The sub could have easily served 3 people, but I'm going to be selfish and keep the left overs for myself. yum yum! The sub was a little over $10, but it will easily serve 2-3 people so I call that a great deal. While waiting for the sub to be heated I looked through their wine selection and was tempted by a Berola that I will have with the lasagna tonight. Most of the wines have great descriptions posted, so it is easy to find something you will like. Prices on the wines are very reasonable ($10- $$$) I also saw and picked up an olive oil and sea salt loaf that has a crusty exterior and soft interior. Great stuff!!! read more

Top notch made from scratch Italian. One of our two "go-to" Italian eateries in town. The owner, Louis, is a class act and runs a fantastic business. Outstanding customer service for everybody. Their chicken parm, lasagna, calzones and strromboli are excellent... sauce is delicious and overall recipe is very well balanced... not an overload of cheese. Bread is outstanding... their garlic bread is our favorite. Wine selection is very good... several hard-to-find bottles and wide variety of Italian, French and American, all price points. They are great with recommendations. The store has several other items/delicacies/etc that allow you to put together an interesting meal across the board. A few tables to sit at for lunch, but best for carryout. They are popular and they sell out, so best to call ahead by an hour or more and place an order if you are looking to feed a large group. They are very accommodating with special requests/orders. Fantastic option for business lunches, and a wonderful meal for family gatherings, holiday parties, etc. Highly recommend... excellent place. read more

My family moved down from Cleveland a few years ago and finally we found Italian food as good as what we used to have from Little Italy and Mayfield area. I have had the meat and cheeses before and they're delicious. However, this time I was horrified to see that the employees were slicing meat and cheese with their bare hands (no gloves!!!!!) AND, then the kid even handed us samples of cheese WITH HIS BARE HANDS! handing us cheese to put in our mouths, and he didn't have gloves on! Louis is a purveyor of the finest foods and wine. He and his staff are friendly and hard working. It is a true 'neighborhood' gem. It is my go to place for parties. When I don't have time - I know I can count on Vincenzo's to take a meal to a friend or family in need and it will be of the highest quality and taste delicious. My Cincinnati family LOVES the chicken salad and it is my standing duty to bring Vincenzo's whenever we gather. The breads, calzones, and stromboli are also fantastic. okay, first off: this place wins all the things b/c there's an elderly woman who wanders the store back and forth from the pasta maker and the deli case. she wears her hair in a bun and has glasses and she was just adorable. well done, old lady. this is an independent Italian deli in a strip mall in the land of strip malls. a light in the darkness and a beacon that good taste is still alive. if you like wine you should come her b/c they have a lot of it. I don't know anything about wine but I know they have a lot of it and it looked very fancy and in cool wood boxes. they also have their own house made sausage on a charcoal grill on the side walk. I didn't get it but I will next time b/c it looked like a a good thing. they have two big deli cases filled with prepared for for take out and the. another case of cheeses and meats. oye. my friend and I split an Italian sub which was very good on a enormous baguette. the half sub was as big as my head. great little place with lots of weird interesting Italian peppers and groceries to look at! yay 161 and sawmill for not being a cultural wasteland! read more

i love this place. the breads are amazing - specifically the sea salt and herb baguette and the mozz bread. but man is it expensive ($7 for a baguette). the selection of wine and dried pastas are good and affordable. i totally recommend going here, but be prepared to spend! read more
