Ayres Hotel - 2 Queen Pet Friendly Room

I don't often write reviews, but this stay deserves one. The Ayres Hotel Redlands is genuinely one…read moreof the nicest hotels I've stayed at in a long time -- the lobby is gorgeous, the room was spotless, and the beds were comfortable. I was seriously impressed with how clean and well-kept the whole property was. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, and the location was great too -- close to the Packing District, easy freeway access, and a quick Uber to the nearby casino. We did run into a billing mix-up related to Expedia, but a staff member named Ariana helped sort it out and made sure it was resolved. Really appreciated her help. One small note: our coffee maker didn't have sugar or creamer, but the front lobby had us covered, so no big deal. My only real critique isn't specific to this hotel -- it's more of a hospitality industry thing. Checkout was at 12pm and check-in at 3pm, which means guests never actually get a full 24 hours even though that's essentially what you're paying for. I'd love to see hotels move toward at least a 24-hour stay window, even if that just means pushing checkout to 1pm. Overall though, this hotel is an excellent example of what a hotel brand should be, and I hope their other locations hold to the same standard. Highly recommend.

Staff were kind throughout the process leading onto the date of reservation. The place was nice and clean and ready for our stay. Staff were welcoming and supportive. The bed was comfy and there were extra pillows in the closet. I wish we would have had time to use the swimming pool. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

It was quiet and the temperature in the room adjusted very quickly to what we wanted. I liked that we could charge our car for free! I chose to return to this Marriott property because I was very pleased with the accommodations and service during my previous stay. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was disappointing, particularly my interactions with front desk employee Zaroush, who also identifies herself as "Z" sometimes when answering the phone. During our phone conversations, I found her tone and demeanor to be rude and unprofessional, to the point that I directly addressed my concerns with her. When I requested to speak with a manager, she initially stated that no manager was available and implied that she was the front desk manager handling my concerns. After further questioning, she clarified that she was actually the front desk lead. She assured me that John, the manager, would contact me regarding my experience. However, several days have passed, and I have yet to receive a call. This leaves me questioning whether my concerns were ever communicated to him as promised. As a returning guest who specifically chose this property because of a previous positive experience, I expected a higher standard of professionalism, transparency, and follow-through. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing enough that I chose to book a different property for my next stay rather than return to this Marriott. It is unfortunate that one employee's conduct and the lack of management follow-up have overshadowed what had previously been an excellent impression of this property.

Staff is always kind, and I've had no issues from booking on third-party sites. The rooms have always been clean. Our most recent stay, they gave us tons of towels. I was also able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast, which starts at 7am on the weekends. Full of great options too! Quiet, clean, and a perfect spot for your quick stay.

While not as flavorful as their Starbucks cousins, these egg bites were tender and had a fresh egg flavor. The slight tang from the cheese rounded things out perfectly and made these bites the perfect vessel for some country gravy or ketchup. Sausage Links: 4/5 Again, pretty good! Usually buffet sausage is either super greasy or dry as the Sahara, but this was the perfect middle ground. Maybe it was the hotel vibes talking, but it was great and much better than I expected. Country Gravy: 3/5 I'm pretty sure this is from the can, but it was hot and covered so it was a good texture. While it wasn't exactly good, it definitely was not bad. I enjoyed it with the rest of the food. Ambiance: Typical three-star hotel breakfast buffet. Clean and well-maintained. Service: Food was hot and the staff kept everything clean and well stocked. Parking: Large parking lot.

What I thought would be a short stay at the hospital turned out to be a three week stay. I would ask for a few days extension only to have to come back and ask for another extension. This happened at least four times and each time the staff was gracious and extended my stay. I would like to give a special mention to Adrianna, who helped me on several occasions with the extensions, etc. Adrianna was kind and sympathetic when I shared my difficult experience of having my father in the hospital. She always had kind words and made me feel like she truly cared. Residence Inn is blessed to have someone like her working for them, and I would definitely come back to Residence Inn Loma Linda just because of her kindness and understanding.

I only wish there was a better drainage system so that the shower water would not leak through the shower door onto the bathroom floor. The sofa pullout bed has seen better days and is the type of situation where the middle dips so our son had a rough couple of nights. The small kitchen and dining area was cute and served us well for the ~three days we were there. We would serve ourselves from the breakfast buffet downstairs (that's included in the price of the room) and bring our food to eat in the comfort of our suite's dining room. Each morning they offered a continental breakfast with a few hot items like egg and cheese omelettes, sausage or bacon, hash browns one morning and biscuits and gravy the next morning. They had two waffle makers and their waffles were actually really good. There were a lot of families staying there this past weekend. There were a lot of guests that were there for the graduation ceremonies happening throughout the weekend at Loma Linda University. But either all the guests were fairly quiet and sedate or the hotel walls were nice and thick. The other advantage of this hotel is the proximity to Downtown Redlands, Loma Linda, and many shops and restaurants just a short drive away. The restaurants and shops of the Mountain Grove area are just a short walk from the hotel. And the hotel is sandwiched between a Krispy Kreme and a Dutch Bros. On our last morning before checking out I walked to the Dutch Bros. to try their coffee for the first time. It was pretty good but to be honest, the coffee I put together the prior morning from the hotel's coffee carafe mixed with a Swiss Miss hot cocoa packet they offer at their coffee station with a little half and half and a little bit of sugar was stronger and better tasting than the Dutch Bros. coffee, just saying.

Our group has 4+ rooms booked for the weekend and since we are all a mixed group of busy adults in our 20's, 30's & 40's, we are not often together. We all checked in at various times the night prior. This morning we woke up and everyone came to my room to visit and see each other. We decided to get breakfast, and when we reached the first floor and walked to the breakfast area, one of the employees at the desk started to yell at us, asking if we were room number ### and yelling something to the effect of "didn't you sign a contract when you checked in?! There is no loud music allowed and no partying." She said some other things to my friends but I didn't catch what she said. What I did catch was the tone of voice. There is a certain respect and rapport when talking to guests, and yelling at them from behind the registration desk as they are walking by to get breakfast while other guests are present eating breakfast is not the way. The approach was very aggressive and it honestly brought the mood and atmosphere down for our whole group. It was definitely not the positive start and vibe we wanted to initiate our vacation with. We did have music playing, I will attest to that, but because my room was at the end of the building, a corner room, and only has one neighbor, I did not think our music was playing too loudly. It was 9am in the morning, not in the middle of the night, as we would not play music while people were trying to sleep. At any rate, this will probably be the last time we stay at this Hilton property. There are many around the area that provided a more welcoming and understanding experience.
