The Ayres Hotel Redlands is genuinely one…read moreof the nicest hotels I've stayed at in a long time -- the lobby is gorgeous, the room was spotless, and the beds were comfortable. I was seriously impressed with how clean and well-kept the whole property was. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, and the location was great too -- close to the Packing District, easy freeway access, and a quick Uber to the nearby casino. We did run into a billing mix-up related to Expedia, but a staff member named Ariana helped sort it out and made sure it was resolved. Really appreciated her help. One small note: our coffee maker didn't have sugar or creamer, but the front lobby had us covered, so no big deal. My only real critique isn't specific to this hotel -- it's more of a hospitality industry thing. Checkout was at 12pm and check-in at 3pm, which means guests never actually get a full 24 hours even though that's essentially what you're paying for. I'd love to see hotels move toward at least a 24-hour stay window, even if that just means pushing checkout to 1pm. Overall though, this hotel is an excellent example of what a hotel brand should be, and I hope their other locations hold to the same standard. Highly recommend.

I recommend requesting the dark roast if you like your coffee strong, their dark roast is amazing! Tifanie was very helpful during check-in and check-out and was extremely friendly. Unfortunately, I do have a few complaints, which are a bigger deal for me since I had little ones with me. I requested an extra pillow and blankets for the room, but there was no staff available to bring them up, so I had to go down to the front desk to pick them up myself. Another time, when I was bathing my daughter, I noticed the conditioner was empty. I called and asked if they could refill it or bring a travel-size bottle, but again I was told I would need to come to the front desk to get it. This is the first hotel I've stayed at where I had to leave my room to get items that either weren't properly stocked or were simple requests. I also noticed one of the towels in the bathroom was dirty, and the floor near the bed was wet when we arrived. While the staff was friendly and the hotel had a nice vibe, the housekeeping team definitely needs some improvement.

I specifically chose and paid for this property expecting my confirmed reservation to be honored. When I arrived on September 5, I was told the hotel had overbooked and did not have a room for me. I was sent to Citrus Suites, a significantly less expensive property that was a downgrade from the hotel I had booked. When I arrived at Citrus Suites, I was told they were completely sold out and could not accommodate me. I then had to drive back to SpringHill Suites and explain the situation all over again. The manager on duty, Silvino Diaz, apologized and ultimately had his team locate a room at their sister property, Aloft in Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga--approximately 24 minutes away from the hotel I had originally booked and paid for. Fortunately, the Aloft staff was accommodating and I was finally able to get a room. However, I should never have had to go through three hotels to find somewhere to stay when I had a confirmed, prepaid reservation. I spoke with General Manager John Maciel on September 8. While he apologized, he could not explain how the hotel became overbooked and offered no meaningful resolution beyond an apology. The biggest issue is accountability. A hotel should not accept and confirm payment for a reservation if it cannot honor that reservation. Sending a paying guest from one hotel to another--only to discover the second hotel is also sold out--is completely unacceptable. I chose this Marriott property based on its location, accommodations, and price point. Instead, I was given a downgrade, sent to a second hotel that had no availability, and ultimately relocated more than 20 minutes away. I will not be staying at this property again, and I will be escalating this experience to Marriott Corporate. I strongly encourage management to review its reservation and overbooking procedures so that other guests with confirmed reservations do not experience the same situation. A confirmed reservation should mean exactly that--confirmed.

While not as flavorful as their Starbucks cousins, these egg bites were tender and had a fresh egg flavor. The slight tang from the cheese rounded things out perfectly and made these bites the perfect vessel for some country gravy or ketchup. Sausage Links: 4/5 Again, pretty good! Usually buffet sausage is either super greasy or dry as the Sahara, but this was the perfect middle ground. Maybe it was the hotel vibes talking, but it was great and much better than I expected. Country Gravy: 3/5 I'm pretty sure this is from the can, but it was hot and covered so it was a good texture. While it wasn't exactly good, it definitely was not bad. I enjoyed it with the rest of the food. Ambiance: Typical three-star hotel breakfast buffet. Clean and well-maintained. Service: Food was hot and the staff kept everything clean and well stocked. Parking: Large parking lot.

Here's the good: free parking. Now for the rest. Starting with security--or the lack of it. The only visible security was a guy in a security uniform wandering around the "bistro" during breakfast and staring at guests. Other than that, anyone can walk into the lobby, onto the patio, into the bar, up the elevators, and onto the guest floors. No key access is required anywhere. The Wi-Fi situation is also concerning. There's a guest network, but there are also several suspicious room-linked networks showing up. Whether they're legitimate or not, it certainly doesn't inspire confidence. The lobby bistro was disappointing. The food was bland, watery, and overcooked. When I ordered tea, it arrived in a teapot with a broken handle. Not exactly the level of hospitality you'd hope for. The elevator didn't inspire confidence either. The doors began opening before the elevator had fully stopped at the floor, which felt more alarming than convenient. The room itself was pretty janky. A decorative scarf tossed across the bed seemed to be doing a lot of heavy lifting in the design department. The bathroom sink was missing the drain cover, the bed squeaked and creaked with every movement, and the walls were paper thin. We could clearly hear the TV from the neighboring room. There's only a few tv stations and no streaming options. The second floor was noisy overall, with parking lot sounds carrying late into the night and starting up again early in the morning. If you're hoping for a good night's sleep, lower your expectations. The pool and spa area were equally disappointing. The hot tub had food and something dark floating on the surface, and children were using it unsupervised. The view from the pool isn't relaxing either--unless freeway signs are your idea of scenic. What bothered me most was how misleading the photos are. The pool looks lovely online. The room photos show bathrobes that don't actually exist. The food photos displayed throughout the hotel look appetizing and polished, while the actual meals that arrive bear little resemblance to what's advertised. Overall, the photos sell a completely different experience than the one you'll actually get. Aside from free parking, I struggled to find much to recommend here.

I would like to give a special mention to Adrianna, who helped me on several occasions with the extensions, etc. Adrianna was kind and sympathetic when I shared my difficult experience of having my father in the hospital. She always had kind words and made me feel like she truly cared. I only wish there was a better drainage system so that the shower water would not leak through the shower door onto the bathroom floor. The sofa pullout bed has seen better days and is the type of situation where the middle dips so our son had a rough couple of nights. The small kitchen and dining area was cute and served us well for the ~three days we were there. We would serve ourselves from the breakfast buffet downstairs (that's included in the price of the room) and bring our food to eat in the comfort of our suite's dining room. Each morning they offered a continental breakfast with a few hot items like egg and cheese omelettes, sausage or bacon, hash browns one morning and biscuits and gravy the next morning. They had two waffle makers and their waffles were actually really good. There were a lot of families staying there this past weekend. There were a lot of guests that were there for the graduation ceremonies happening throughout the weekend at Loma Linda University. But either all the guests were fairly quiet and sedate or the hotel walls were nice and thick. The other advantage of this hotel is the proximity to Downtown Redlands, Loma Linda, and many shops and restaurants just a short drive away. The restaurants and shops of the Mountain Grove area are just a short walk from the hotel. And the hotel is sandwiched between a Krispy Kreme and a Dutch Bros. On our last morning before checking out I walked to the Dutch Bros. to try their coffee for the first time. It was pretty good but to be honest, the coffee I put together the prior morning from the hotel's coffee carafe mixed with a Swiss Miss hot cocoa packet they offer at their coffee station with a little half and half and a little bit of sugar was stronger and better tasting than the Dutch Bros. coffee, just saying.

Our group has 4+ rooms booked for the weekend and since we are all a mixed group of busy adults in our 20's, 30's & 40's, we are not often together. We all checked in at various times the night prior. This morning we woke up and everyone came to my room to visit and see each other. We decided to get breakfast, and when we reached the first floor and walked to the breakfast area, one of the employees at the desk started to yell at us, asking if we were room number ### and yelling something to the effect of "didn't you sign a contract when you checked in?! There is no loud music allowed and no partying." She said some other things to my friends but I didn't catch what she said. What I did catch was the tone of voice. There is a certain respect and rapport when talking to guests, and yelling at them from behind the registration desk as they are walking by to get breakfast while other guests are present eating breakfast is not the way. The approach was very aggressive and it honestly brought the mood and atmosphere down for our whole group. It was definitely not the positive start and vibe we wanted to initiate our vacation with. We did have music playing, I will attest to that, but because my room was at the end of the building, a corner room, and only has one neighbor, I did not think our music was playing too loudly. It was 9am in the morning, not in the middle of the night, as we would not play music while people were trying to sleep. At any rate, this will probably be the last time we stay at this Hilton property. There are many around the area that provided a more welcoming and understanding experience.
