The Receptionist who checked me in was very sweet and cheerfully caring, and communicated with a clear and organized finesse that made the whole experience feel pleasantly comfortable. Dr. Hu was very nice and mindfully present in explaining to me the lab reports he was preparing for my upcoming blood work tests for my annual physical, and listened politely with considerate compassion when I asked him for assistance in drafting a note to help me get a temporary leave of absence for work to focus on recovering my mental and physical health after years of brutal burnout. The Totalcare Team helped me organize my paperwork neatly and sent them over to me through email quickly just as they promised! I was so impressed by the enthusiastically positive and caring attitudes and terrific Communication etiquette, keep up the good work!

I've been trying to get an ENT authorization for my child, and unfortunately, my experience with…read morethe front desk has been extremely frustrating. I was told that Linda is the only person who handles this type of paperwork and that she is usually available in the mornings. I have called several days in a row, including right after the office opened, but every time I ask for her, I'm told she is busy or unavailable. I have also been told that someone would call me back with an update, but I never received a call. I completely understand that medical offices get busy, and I'm not expecting someone to drop everything for me. However, it shouldn't take days of repeated phone calls just to get a simple update about whether an authorization can be processed. Even a one-minute conversation or a return call would be appreciated. What makes this more disappointing is that the doctors here have been very nice, and I have no complaints about them. My frustration is specifically with the front desk and the lack of communication and follow-through. I feel that the front desk staff could benefit from better training on how to communicate with patients and resolve issues instead of repeatedly telling people to call back. As a working parent, my time matters too. If the clinic cannot handle the authorization or cannot accept my child as a patient, I would rather be told directly so I can find another provider instead of spending days calling and waiting for a response that never comes. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because good doctors deserve a front office that provides the same level of care and professionalism.

The staff also wears gloves when handling bodily fluids or when touching patients. There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This place is open and available with limited capacity. They are sanitizing in between patients. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is behind the building and it is very small. The lot does get full quickly, so you may have to find some street parking, but that shouldn't be an issue. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, small, and organized. They recently moved to a new location, and I love everything except the parking lot because it's so small. A nice upgrade in office space. Yay! Staff: The staff here are very friendly, kind, warm, welcoming, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. Dr. Jen, as always, is very professional, compassionate, empathetic, and knowledgeable. He doesn't rush, and he truly listens to his patients. I love that he isn't dismissive at all. And dare I say it was a very pleasant visit to Dr. Jen's office for the most part... compared to other doctor visits I've been to, going to Dr. Jen definitely won't be daunting compared to others I've been to. My first impression of the place was already a good start, with a very friendly staff and I appreciate that this place seems to keep things in order where I seemed to be the only patient in the office at the time (which is great for the pandemic situation). Dr. Jen was very thorough in my check-up and I specifically came here to also get a pap smear all at once. Very professional throughout, including his female staff member. The pap smear wasn't all that bad (granted my body wasn't cooperating for part of it but that's not his fault) and he made sure I was comfortable the whole time too. Logistics-wise, it was about 3 months out from when I made my appointment call, but I was ok with it since I didn't have an urgent reason. Office itself is in a good location. It's on the 3rd floor and you can find the entrance to the elevators next to the pharmacy. Bonus for the lab being downstairs if you need to get your blood drawn in the future after the doctor's visit, so it's nice that everything you need is in one location. There's free parking around the building and I didn't have trouble snagging a spot on a Friday afternoon.

I am writing regarding an uncomfortable experience during my dental appointment at AltaMed…read more I had several shopping bags with personal belongings and, due to physical limitations, I have difficulty walking or standing for long periods of time. When I first needed to use the restroom, it was very dirty and there was water on the floor, which almost caused me to fall. I came back out, checked in, waited in the lobby, and then waited approximately 5-10 minutes for the restroom to be cleaned again. During that time, I observed an AltaMed staff member whispering with the cleaning lady staff in a way that made me feel uncomfortable. The AltaMed staff member, (a shorter woman with dark black hair whose name I do not know), informed me the restroom was temporarily closed, even though it appeared it would reopen shortly. So I continued waiting. I also felt uncomfortable due to the stares I received from staff and expressed to security that I felt singled out. A female security guard later directed me to another restroom, which I greatly appreciated. I thank her for making me feel comfortable and acknowledged during that moment. I was also told again by the same AltaMed staff member that I could not bring my shopping bags into the restroom. When I politely asked whether there was a policy regarding bags, no clear answer was provided. I respectfully ask not to be approached regarding my personal belongings unless there is a clear policy in place. I also hope staff can show respect, and consideration toward patients, especially those with physical limitations. Overall, I did not feel welcomed during this experience. It took me several days to process everything because I was unsure how to properly address the situation, but I ultimately decided to submit this complaint. I apologize if I caused any disturbance, as that was never my intention.
