When we first discovered Vin de Matrix Winery, it felt like an unexpected find. Now, after several return visits, I can honestly say it has become one of those places we intentionally build into our Saturday adventures. What keeps bringing us back is not just the wine, although there is certainly plenty to enjoy there. This visit included a flight, a glass of Starlight White, another newer red offering, and the small bites that have become one of my favorite parts of the experience. Fresh bread, cheeses, olives, dipping sauces, hummus, and even a couple of truffles create the kind of simple but thoughtful pairing that encourages you to slow down and stay awhile. What stands out most, though, is the authenticity of the place. During this visit we once again had the opportunity to spend some time with Lee, whose warmth and hospitality seem to reflect everything this winery is about. Nothing feels rushed, overly commercial, or manufactured. It feels genuine. On this particular Saturday, we sat outside overlooking the grounds of Kings Mountain Golf Course, enjoying a break from the routine and watching golfers make their way through the course. There was no special event, no live music, and no grand occasion. It was simply a relaxing afternoon, and somehow that made it even better. There are plenty of wineries where you can have a tasting. There are far fewer places where you leave feeling refreshed, welcomed, and already looking forward to your next visit. Vin de Matrix continues to be one of those places for us, and it remains well worth the drive from Pittsburgh. read more

Love love love Vin De Matrix! this is a staple on the mountain and we sure do love having the pleasure of getting to enjoy this spot. They have a good selection of wines for everyone - from sweets to dries. They usually keep a couple of rotating/seasonal sangrias too. Kombucha is often available as an NA option or a dry ginger beer that is local. I love having NA options since I no longer drink. Josh and Lee have really created a special space here! They are always a joy to see and catch up with :) Vin De Matrix is worth the stop even if it's out of your way! read more

I was introduced to these amazing wines at the Bedford Farmer's market this past Wednesday which ensured I took my husband for a visit to their winery location Our time here was magical and beyond enjoyable--from tasting a variety of their amazing wines to being visited by local humming birds, who were quenching their thirst, just a fabulous way to spend a Friday afternoon! Aside from being able to indulge in their wonderful wines, relaxing over delicious snacks and our ever returning humming birds--we took in the surrounding golf course and golfers teeing off & I enjoyed picking up a few books from their library box While we wanted to go home with ALL of Vin De Matrix's amazing offerings, we settled on the 'Portal'; as we decided on a near-future visit to once again enjoy this quaint and relaxing experience while picking up other favorites! read more

We had such a wonderful wine tasting experience with Lee! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was warm, genuine, and inviting. Lee created such a cozy atmosphere that made us feel completely at home. You can tell how much care and passion goes into every detail of the experience. It was not only informative but also so enjoyable and relaxed--never rushed, just the perfect pace to savor each wine and the moment. We truly felt so welcomed, and it made the entire visit special. We will absolutely be back and would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something memorable and authentic! read more

LOVE everything about Vin De Matrix! My daughter & I have ventured there twice so far, we just adore this winery! The laid back vibe is wonderful and owners are super friendly. Delicious wines & Sangria is to die for! The assorted breads and dip platter is fabulous and priced low for quality. If you are in Laurel Highlands or Seven Springs area - this place is a must. read more

I wish I could give Lee, the woman who co-runs the winery with her husband, 1000 stars but 5 will have to do. I had the absolute best time at Vin De Matrix. When you walk in you're treated like old friends and the space itself is cozy, charming, and relaxing. After a long day of hiking in Laurel Hills we stopped by Vin and we're pleasantly surprised to learn that a tasting flight of six wines was only $5!!! I have never had such an inexpensive flight before and it was wonderful. They have everything from sweet to dry wines and a nice combination of whites and reds. We also ordered their version of a charcuterie board and for only $10 we got to try so many delicious spreads, cheese, and bread that was plenty for 3-4 people. I left with a few bottles of wine and full understanding that I'd be back soon. Lee also frequents the Lawrenceville Farmers Market on Tuesday and you can buy their wines there. Love the concept of a laid back winery with good people and even better wine. read more

Great wine, food atmosphere and hospitality!! The charcuterie was absolutely amazing. Great variety, so delicious and paired well with the wines. If you are asking yourself if it's worth the drive the answer is YES! We will definitely be going back! read more

What an adorable little hole in the wall. The walls are decorated with local celestial artwork. There's also pottery made by a local artist. They charge $5 for a flight but that also includes a cute little glass with their logo. I went with two others and we shared their pairing plate as well which had bread, pretzels, mustard, chocolate, olives, red pepper spread and hummus. The owner was very kind and even told us about a local waterfall that isn't known by tourists. The wine was amazing and unique. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

Great wines and hors douvres. Will definitely go back. It's a nice drive to a pleasant setting with friendly staff and ownership.

Finally we made it here. We have been wanting to visit this winery for some time. It was worth the drive. All of the wines that I tried were absolutely amazing. I prefer the dry wines and they were all good. I liked the Sirius Red(dry Malbec with grapes from Chili) This winery is a small winery, but they have a lot of wines available, including a couple of Meads as well. They do serve beer for those who do not like wine. The wine owners were very nice. Josh, knew his wine and would explain about each of the wines that we tried. He did provide us with a history lesson when I asked about growing grapes in the mountains. He said nothing would grow here, we collect all of our grapes, he said "Vin De Matrix" stands for "Gathering of Grapes" I found that to be the most unique name for a winery. We want to come back in the summer when the weather is better. Plus by then we will have ran out of wine. I'd recommend making your journey to this winery. It's a good one. read more

My parents live full time in the Laurel Mountains, so we visit often. They were adamant that we stop at Vin De Matrix. My husband and I love wine and we were excited to try a new spot close to 'home'. Tucked away in a golf course community, this place is a true gem! Josh and Lee are a husband/wife team and are such a breath of fresh air! Interesting, smart, genuine - these people really wanted to create a space for people to relax in! Tastings are $2 - a bargain - as you can taste up to 8 of their wines! The couple told us all about the different grapes they have gathered from different vineyards (the business name literally means 'grape gatherer'). Every wine was distinct and delicious! I believe most grapes are from the finger lakes region and California. Josh makes all the wine and we were all thoroughly impressed! Our favorites were the Sirius Red, dry sparkling rose (draft!), zenith, and the fiery comet (heated up to taste like fall!). We bought a bottle to drink in by the potbelly stove and it was honestly one of the most perfect Saturdays ever. If you are in the area, you MUST MUST MUST make a pit stop here. This is the perfect addition to the 'mountain living' community and we can't wait to go back!! read more

Best winery I've ever been to. Great little place with amazing wines, wonderful service and wide variety of profiles. Starlight white was the best dry white wine I've had. Their rotational sangria at the time, Variable Stars, was an amazing sweet and fruity strawberry sangria. I'm usually not a fan of sweet wine, but the fruit came through so clearly that I loved it. (A combination of starlight white and variable stars is incredible) I even got to try their Starhopper Mead, which features a neat balance of sweetness and hops. Will definitely be back again. read more

wine was very good and affordable. as the owner said, they do not cut corners. 10/10. :)

This is the second time we've been to this winery and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. The wines are delicious and the owners (husband and wife) couldn't have been more welcoming or knowledgeable. This time they had a limited edition raspberry sangria that was so delicious we each bought a bottle. 6 wine tastings to a flight and you keep the glass for $5. I highly recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed. read more

Best winery in the laurel highlands! Take a trip on a nice day and visit! The owners are fantastic and really know their product!

Vin De Matrix is an amazing addition to the Laurel Highlands! The building is beautifully decorated, calm and inviting ambience with the wine barrel tables and fire burning. Josh and Lee (the owners) are so friendly and knowledgeable. The wines are so tasty and refreshing! We buy some wine to drink and enjoy the ambience at VDX and always get a travel pack of wine to take back to Maryland with us. One of the many reasons of why we love VDX is that it is kid friendly. We've taken our kids there since they were babies/toddlers. All around, VDX is a great place to be! Go there and enjoy! read more
