I've been coming to this gym for over 10 years, and the staff has always been great. Everyone is professional and respectful, and I appreciate that they let people focus on their workouts while still creating a friendly environment. The front desk team has always been welcoming, but I wanted to give a special shoutout to Amir. My interaction with him felt very genuine, and he was extremely professional and kind. Vim and Vigor is a small gym next to Nob Hill grocery store in Campbell. If you don't expect too much at this price point, you'll be fine. The range of equipment is decent and they have a complete enough set of weight machines for my routine. The cardio machines are ok, though I prefer Precor to Life Fitness. The GX room is fine, sometimes too hot or cold. I just use it to practice the classes I teach at other facilities. It could be cleaner, they could do better with fixing broken machines, they could restock the wipes and paper towels and soap more consistently. They could be open later on the weekend. I'm not sure why there's so much hate for the staff (including the front desk guys). They seem friendly and helpful to me. It's not perfect. But it's like $12/month. If you want swanky and fancy go to Bay Club. read more

They keep losing Zumba instructors then don't replace them. They try to restrict how many people can attend the few classes they offer, but that's solving the WRONG problem. Instead of restricting the numbers they need TO HIRE MORE ZUMBA INSTRUCTORS and offer more classes. read more

I love this gym. They have listened to the request and added more weights and the cleaner lady keeps the floor cleaned. I love the classes but it's tough to get a class. They go away in 10 seconds. So just be careful if you want to join the gym only for classes of Vicky or Cathy. I arrived at 6:55 AM for a workout, and as of 7:15 AM, the doors are still locked. There are currently 7 people standing outside and another 6 waiting in their cars. Someone has already contacted the district manager, but there's still no sign of staff. They create ad hoc rules to prevent you from joining the class, instead of showing any interest in helping you, or, solving the group glass scarcity issue by hiring more qualified Zumba teachers. I really wanted to love Vim + Vigor -- the gym itself is beautiful, and the front desk staff were always kind and helpful. But my experience with management regarding their Lifetime Membership was frustrating and disappointing. I purchased the Lifetime Membership in June 2024, paying $399 upfront plus a $60 annual fee. One of the big selling points was that it could be transferred if I moved -- something I was told at sign-up. Less than a year later, I relocated and found out transfers had been quietly discontinued just two months after I joined, with no notice or communication. When I asked about options, the front desk encouraged me to reach out to the manager and request a one-time exception. I did so with no expectations, but I hoped for at least a response. Instead, I got no reply for over a week. When I followed up, 10 mins later I got a quick message saying my cancellation was pending -- no acknowledgment of my original request, no explanation, and no apology. What's especially confusing is that the written agreement says memberships are non-transferable, but the way it was presented to me -- both at sign-up in 2024 and again on the phone last week-- was that transfers were an included benefit... until apparently Aug 2024. So it's hard not to feel misled. The gym experience itself was clean, staff friendly, but the lack of transparency and how poorly the situation was handled by management really soured things. If you're considering a long-term or lifetime membership (if they do that anymore?), I'd be careful. read more

The staff are unfriendly. With the previous 2 gym companies, the staff would greet you at the door. With Vim & Vigor, the staff just sit behind their computers just to see if you're an authorized member, but don't acknowledge you at all. There could be other needed improvements. For example, when it's super hot outside, like 100 degrees outside, the sun light from the outside streams through the floor to ceiling windows where all the treadmills are, and blind you if you weren't able to find a treadmill in the shade. If you were originally in a partially shady treadmill, the sunlight shifts direction as the sun sets, so more sunlight streams in and blinds you, so it's difficult read or watch videos of what's in front of you. The heat from the sun also radiates through the glass windows and makes you even hotter, despite the AC which is weak in some areas of the gym. If it's crowded, you can't just switch to another treadmill if all the treadmills in the shade are taken. It would be better if there were sunshades covering the upper half of the windows on the hottest, sunniest days, to make the gym more comfortable. The sunshades would be helpful because the entire front wall of the gym, is floor to ceiling glass windows. Also, it doesn't look like the staff checks to make sure to refill the wipes when a canister is empty. One is always empty, so it makes it harder to keep things sanitary. read more

Been going to this gym for the past year after my previous one closed down. Only signed up for the basic plan since I was still using a physical trainer from outside of the gym and wasn't sure if I was going to live in the neighborhood for much longer. This is located in a plaza and the main reason I signed up for this particular one was because I used to live within walking distance (makes consistency to going to a gym very easy!). Has a large parking lot and in a nice neighborhood! There are many fitness equipment available and the gym is kept very clean! Tons of cardio machines, machines to work on various muscle groups, accessories (like bands, aerobics steps, kettle balls, bar pads, etc) and each workout area is spaced out without being too close to a neighbor. Great AC and normal workout music selection (and not very loud), clean bathroom and showers. I mainly used this gym for weight lifting and dumbbells: Squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, benches, etc. I've never had problems finding an available weight rack since I noticed that rush hour occurs from 12-1p (lunch rush) and after 3p. So if you go outside of those times, you will likely be able to find an open weight rack! My partner who used to visit this gym has mentioned that it gets CROWDED after 3pm (as that would be the case for most gyms) but 8p is where it gets rocky with the gym other gym goers - the ones who will come up and make "comments." He'd only voiced his concerns to me as a small Asian woman but I hadn't personally visited the gym that late and had met nice people. Other than that, I've had a good experience going to this gym! The front desk staff is always so friendly, some other gym goers compliment me after a set, and I've seen the in gym trainers helping their clients in a very encouraging and supportive manner. I would recommend this gym given you come outside of rushes and if you don't need extremely fancy gym amenities like a pool. read more

I have been a member of this gym (under previous Fitness 19, etc) for 20 years. I like the way the gym is laid out, I mostly use the cardio (ellipticals, treads, sometimes bike) and the weight machines and free weights/TRX area. I have always recommended this gym to others -- I will say that I can go during the day before it gets crowded after 4pm. My only issue that has recently really started to annoy me (and others) is the large number of people who use the weight machines as their easy chair to spend 15-20 minutes looking at their phones (TikTok, Instagram, texting, who knows). Last time I visited, it was so bad that I asked the lady at the front desk to make a PSA but she said they probably wouldn't hear it (good point, most have ear buds). So I went over to a guy who had been sitting on the leg extensions machine for 15 minutes plus (he was still staring at his phone). I expected him to be embarrassed but instead, he told me he had 2 more sets to do. I then went to 2 others who had been doing the same thing and basically received the same response. Next time I go and have this experience, I will return to the front desk and ask for some intervention. Otherwise I will revise my rating down to 3 or even 2 stars. read more

NEVER sign up with this gym. The staff here is rude, abusive and they are liars. Management does nothing about it other than to ignore the abusive behavior. On December 11, 2024 my husband and I visited the Campbell location of Vim and Vigor. When we got there my husband asked to use the red light therapy while I asked to use the hydro massage chair. We were told that the red light was available but that the hydro chair was in use and I would have to wait. We told the staff that wouldn't be a problem and we proceeded into the room where the red light and hydro chairs were located, at which point my husband went into the red light room and I sat on the couch to wait for a hydro chair. There was no one else sitting in the room besides myself and the two people who were in the chairs and no one came into the room the entire time I was waiting. When one of the other gym members ended her session in the chair early and said when she got up for me to go ahead and use it as she was done. Again NO one else was in the room waiting, so I thought the chair was free and proceeded to get into the chair. About 2 minutes into using the chair I was approached by a Vim and Vigor staff member who very aggressively started berating me. He proceeded to scold me like I was a 2 year old who couldn't follow directions, being very forceful that someone indeed had been waiting for the chair before me. The way he approached me about the situation made me feel very scared and humiliated that even though he said "it's fine you're in the chair now just next time listen to me when I tell you, you have to wait", in a degrading tone, I was NO longer comfortable even being in the building. I ended the hydro session and knocked on the door to the red light room so my husband and I could leave. My husband was just finishing his session and when he came out of the room he became very concerned for me as I was shaking and on the verge of tears. I explained to him what happened and so he proceeded to go to the front desk to make a complaint about the treatment I received from the staff member. As he was making the complaint he was told "We have procedures in place and part of that is a wait list for the chairs. There was someone sitting out here waiting for a chair before you came in". My husband proceeded to explain that we were not told that there was someone sitting in the main lobby waiting as our experience had always been people wait in the room itself on the couch. My husband told the staff that I have PTSD and that the way I was approached triggered it and was making me very fearful and upset. There was no apology given, nothing. Instead we were met with "Well that is why we have policies in place for that room", to which point my husband said well maybe you need better policies and procedures for it. I stood there shaking until I couldn't take it anymore and abruptly left. My husband told me even after I walked out an apology was not given. Since that day we have NOT been back to the facility as I have not felt safe to do so. Just having to talk to anyone on the phone I shake and start to cry remembering that situation. If the staff is allowed to make someone feel unsafe and humiliated without consequences then what will be done if another gym member does the same thing. Vim and Vigor is no longer a safe environment for me. The manager Anna was there and not once was I asked if I was okay, nor has anyone reached out to see if I have been okay. It was all just swept under the rug and probably laughed about after I left. In fact, Anna has proceeded to pretend she has no idea what I am talking about. Even though it was something so serious that a complaint was made that same day and she came up to the front desk with the whole "policy and procedure" garbage. The environment at Vim and Vigor is unsafe, toxic and no longer a place that feels comfortable or conducive to be in. Records can clearly prove that I have not been back to the facility since that incident due to fear of being attacked again by one of their staff members or another paying member of the gym. Sergio the district manager tried to play off that he had tried to contact me but 1) they had my number on file and no one called me and 2) he has never answered any of the emails I have tried to send him. I did find out that an email that was sent was delivered to my spam folder but again after not getting a response to that email the logical thing do would have been to call me to follow up which he did NOT do. Nor did he answer any of the proceeding emails after discovering the spammed email. Even in his email he stated "Something this severe warrants a phone conversation so I can have the best understanding so I can have this resolved and take appropriate action.", but no phone call was ever initiated by Sergio at any time. And before anyone comes at about taking so long to post this, remember I have PTSD so things like this are not easy to deal with and in fact I shut down. read more

This gym is getting too crowded recently. People have to wait a long time for their turn to use an equipment. The front desk people were very rude and not helpful at resolving conflicts. They also have tough times at maintaining the facilities: paper towel and wipes are out constantly.. Locker room is often dirty and nobody bothers to clean it. The manager is incredibly rude. I simply informed her one of the sanitation pumps in the main area was empty or malfunctioning and just giving out bubbles. She asked me "have you tried the other ones nearby cuz there's like four right there?" in a super condescending tone. I wasn't even talking to her. I was talking to one of the front desk guys. ONE OF THE WORST FRONTDESK TEAMS I got the monthly membership through my employer's insurance program. When I went there today, the front desk guy was very disappointed to onboard me through the insurance program. He reluctantly entered the information and asked me to come to the side desk to discuss about membership fees. I rolled my eyes for that nonsensical discussion and went to the side desk. There he showed me various programs they offer and asked me to choose the program I want to enroll to. When I said I don't need to sign up for any special program with the gym as the insurance program is already covering what I want, his irritation levels shot up. Then he asked me to sign a bunch of things without explaining what I am signing for. As I knew that I am not paying to the gym, but only to my insurance company, I signed the screens. After doing the work out with my son, while leaving, the same "gentleman" stopped me telling me that I can't bring my son from tomorrow. As if you are doing me a favor for allowing my son for that day. Little did that "gentleman" know that my son has been coming to that gym for the last 6+ months. He could have asked me if I am bringing in my son as a guest at the beginning. There is a limit to force the customer to sign something up to satisfy their thirst for money. Am going to complain about this rude behavior with my insurance company. Your scare tactics won't get you new customers. Only going above and beyond will get you new and loyal customers. read more

I signed up for this gym because the location is convenient--just five minutes from where I live. However, if the business states it opens at 5 a.m., it should be open at 5 a.m. When I called, the manager told me it was "human error," which is not an acceptable response when running a business. They used to open at 5am Monday thru Friday under Fitness 19 which was great. However, it seems that they're now opening up later or the opener forgets to show up. For example, I'm currently at the Campbell location right now and it's 6:17am. The door sign says it opens at 5am, so many gym members have been waiting for the doors to open. Very crowded gym, they've crammed in as much equipment as they can but there is still far too much demand for far too little equipment. After being a member of this gym for years and canceling my membership due to a move, I was told I had to pay a $50 cancelation fee. Totally predatory, and to me all the evidence in the world that this club does not value or respect its long-time members. read more

This is my gym. There are really good things about V and V , but a lot of bad. The cardio machines are SO old, and they refuse to get new bikes, treadmills, ellipticals. All of this equipment dates back to the 90s or early 2000s. The showers are prison style and offer zero privacy. No curtains, no dividers. There's usually cleaning staff sanitizing in the middle of the day; is great they are cleaning, but then members cannot use the bathrooms. It makes no sense. The dispensers are often out of soap. Toilets filthy. Equipment always broken and takes weeks to repair. V and V has great things too, though. Bosu,foam rollers, TRX, Kranking machines, medicine balls, rowing, battle ropes etc. Staff friendly and helpful 99% of the time. Large selection of juices and workout snacks. Overall a decent gym at an affordable cost. They really need new equipment badly. read more

Got a guest pass for me and wife to try out since we moved to the area. We showed up and were told sorry pass is over by one of the sales ladies. We told her we accidentally thought it was for a week but turns out it's only a couple days. She wanted us to sign up for their higher tier membership when I asked how much it was she replied "what?" In a rude teenage manner even though she was an older grown woman and not even close to being a teen. It was just unprofessional and rude and just really garbage people skills. In our old area we were part of a high end fitness club so we were used to professional courteous staff. Afterwards we were just basically told since we're not members were out of luck so we were just standing in our workout clothes and water bottles looking ridiculous. Funny enough one of the younger teenage guys at the front desk was really cool and was like you wanna just work out for the day since we were already there and ready? He should be training the so called "sales reps" on decency. Told him thanks man I appreciate it but we'll just head out. All vim vigor had to do was say no worries guest pass is over but go ahead and finish up today and afterwards or next time we'd start up a membership so we could keep going. Even more ironic was me and wife actually had decided we were going to sign up and join vim vigor but were so put off by the terrible interaction with the woman there we just went straight to crunch fitness that same night and signed up for a membership. I was signed up at this location years ago when it was The Right Stuff and this place is the same many years later. I work close by and signed up for the one year contract with fitness 19 now v&v. I have one month remaining and simply do not want to renew for another year. You will have to pay 50 to cancel at any time. When you call the gym and try and figure out why, no staff or manager can explain this. I was told there is nothing we can do because we do not handle payments and to call the billing company. The number associated with payments is the gym. Pay a little more and go to a different gym. 49er fit is down the street and much nicer. read more

The gym itself is average at best--often overcrowded and with only okay equipment. However, the worst part is the management. I joined to save some money, having previously been a member of 49ers Fit. I had two introductory training sessions and decided to purchase a 12+2 package with a trainer, even though I didn't really need one. I figured that, since I had saved money on the membership, I might as well do it. I was told I could reschedule my sessions whenever I wanted, as long as I informed my trainer in advance. I did this many times for work, vacations, sickness, etc. I liked the trainer and even asked to extend the package once under the same terms (12+2). IMPORTANT: If you buy anything there, make sure to read the contract carefully. It's hard to do, though, because the screen is very small. I didn't read it, and that turned out to be a big mistake, costing me a couple of grand. My wife manages our bills and didn't tell me that the gym was religiously withdrawing $160 per month (in addition to the membership fee), no matter how many sessions I took. When I found out, I spoke to my trainer, who wasn't aware of how the system worked, and asked him to help me resolve it. Since I didn't use any extra sessions and nobody was paid for them, I asked for a reimbursement of the difference. He talked to the gym manager, and I exchanged a few emails with the manager (who never gave me their name) but was refused any resolution and even laughed at, treated like a fool for believing what people say and not reading the contract. Fair enough I guess. I was told I can take 12 extra sessions (when it should have been 21). I felt cheated and never went back. Despite this, they continued to charge me for the membership for some time afterward. I am planning to post it on other media platforms as well. read more

Having a very difficult time getting into their popular classes at the Campbell location. We are expected to register 3 days in advance for classes, On multiple occasions, when trying to sign in within 3 minutes of when the class was open to register, the class was already filled. I wasted more time today getting on their "wait line." I arrived 20 minutes before the class and was number 5. I did not get in, and neither did the other 5 people behind me. I have not received any useful suggestions from the staff, other than sign up as soon as the class registration opens. Not helpful. Other suggestion was to try their other facility which is 3 times as far- also not helpful. read more

This gym is attended by many, so I am not commenting on their training. However, god help you if you have a customer service problem. After much dissatisfaction, (The trainer not showing up for my training session was only one of many things which went wrong!!), I called and canceled my membership. I was within my 5-day cancellation period. They acknowledge my cancellation. They said they would refund my money. Not only did they not refund my money, but they automatically charged me the next month. It has taken me numerous calls and finally an in-person meeting to get some satisfaction - 2 months of trying to get away from this experience. They finally said they would refund my money ... BUT guess what?!?! I have another call into the manager this morning because they kept the money for the training session WHERE THE TRAINER DIDN'T SHOW UP! Buyer Beware with this gym!!!!!!!!!
