They asked me how I liked Sagestone Spa, and cheerily said, "Good news, we have an amazing spa with a lot of the same staff." I said, "It's not the same. It's not the same at all." I hated Black Desert. I hate what they're doing to Ivins. It's vulgar and crass and not at all the reason I have been going out to the desert for a visit for the past 27 years. Black Desert is the place for golf bros, not for people like me. It's just like Palm Springs now. They had a singer at a bar in the lobby and the Golf Bro swagger is not for me. They're absolutely going to ruin Red Mountain, too. They're going to litter up Snow Canyon. I like the views best at Red Mountain. I have visited that spot many times over the past 27 years. I loved how it was walkable to the entrance of Snow Canyon and had unobstructed views of the red sand cliffs and a lava field with a trail. It was so peaceful sitting in my room with the door open, overlooking the lava field. Or lying in a hammock while watching the sunset colors on the red cliffs, or the moonrise, or a storm roll in. Losing my peaceful place to this overblown and overpriced "perfection is not for me." So, ultimately, they lost a customer. Also, it's the desert, and I just don't see how golf in the desert is sustainable with there already being a ton of golf. Everyone else can enjoy this, but I'm going to cry over the peace that was. 1 star because the staff were really nice and listened to me being upset about Red Mountain Resort being destroyed by the company they work for. But only 1 star because none of them have a deep understanding of what I loved about Red Mountain Resort with its funky older buildings, peace, and quiet. I'm in the minority but I stand by how I feel.

On Saturday, we came back to the room in the early afternoon to grab some water and things and then head back out. As we were walking into our room, we noticed the housekeepers were there, and it was very odd to see a purse, a tablet, and a plastic bag with stuff in it outside of our room. Housekeepers are not supposed to have personal belongings on their shift. We didn't think anything of it at the time, they ended up leaving before we did. Hours later, we come back and realize that our luggage had been touched. My luggage was unzipped and on the ground before I left. I come back to see that my stuff was put in my luggage. It was zipped up and standing up on its wheels. Which was very odd as I have never experienced that. My mom also went to her luggage and noticed the same thing that both of her luggage's were zipped up, which we thought was very odd since housekeeping should not be touching our personal belongings. I go into the bathroom to the side cabinet and notice my jewelry box was zipped up. I told my mom and she went to go check her jewelry box that was in her luggage that was zipped up and sadly she opens it to realize that a vintage ring, that's 25 years old, and a necklace from her best friend who passed away, was missing. We immediately called the front desk as we wanted to file a report. We later went to the front desk and spoke to a gentleman who then had his security manager come and filed the report. We told them how we thought it was very odd that housekeeping should be bringing their personal belongings on their shift and we also told them how violated we felt with them touching our personal belongings. We were told that HR would be involved, and housekeeping management would be involved as well. The next steps were the housekeepers would be spoken to, security footage would be reviewed, and someone would be in contact with my mom. It has been over three weeks and no one has contacted my mom. Last week I reached out to a gentleman who is a founding partner of Black Desert resort and explained the situation and asked for help. I also asked that the least they can do is refund my mom for this trouble and the poor communication. I have asked three times now for them to refund my mom due to the lack of communication and urgency of this incident. Other hotels and resorts have refunded customers for way less and I shouldn't have to ask multiple times due to this unfortunate inconvenience. I'm hoping this will be handled soon. I will not be recommending this place to family or friends.

Only 1 lady was in the card area working. Went to eat at the jersey Joe place because all food courts were closed. The Cafe served Mexican food. It was not good food and way over priced. The next morning went down to get coffee and a muffin but it was all closed up. Food courts closed and at 245 in afternoon the Cafe was closed until 430 p.m. we were way disappointed in the food and zero options. We left a day early and went to eureka casino and the food was amazing. Lots of options there. Casablanca has stepped up the room remodel but the food options really are not great at all. It was our 28th year anniversary and like I said we left a day early. As for the slots they were so so. Never saw any casino hosts at all entire time there. Going to try one more visit in October and see if they have more options or can fix the issues there. Very clean and nice rooms. Not all was bad. Just wanted a meal.

Once we got there, a few things we amiss. Adults on the jungle gym, people walking around shirtless and smoking vapes. People having inappropriate conversations about private adult matters. And there were ZERO other children. Every parental nerve was standing on high alert. Come to find out, only after seeing a flyer posted on site, Zion Ponderosa was hosting an adult's only event. NO WHERE ON THE WEBSITE was this listed. How dare you market yourself as a family friendly resort then host an event ON THE ENTIRE PREMISES intended ONLY for 18+ years. And because these were the only accommodations we made (we obviously didn't think we would need a plan B) every other accommodations were fully booked. Which meant, we drove all day for nothing. We planned and spent for nothing. Our kids missed their experience all because your resort mislead us by omitting very important details. So now we are driving home at night, past bedtime, disappointed, sad, and pretty livid. If you have an adults only event, POST IT ON YOUR WEBSITE, for those of us who are bringing minors. It's common sense and common courtesy.

We rent it through an Airbnb, but our bed was so comfortable. Anything that you could've needed in the kitchen was available and we even used the grill that was on the beautiful patio. You can use the pool by the units, but you can also use the pool at the units next-door and that has a small, lazy river and small waterslide and my kids loved that. The parking was confusing and I believe that was confusing to a lot of people. It's not very well labeled so the place could definitely fix that, but besides that we had such a great stay here.

It's conveniently located near the freeway, grocery stores and restaurants. The parking is free and designated parking garage according to your unit with a door entry. I was sold when I saw that they had a full kitchen along with an outdoor and indoor pool. Upon arrival, you don't need to go to a front desk to check in. They email you a code to enter at the door and you just go right in and also the same as when you check out. The rooms are fully stocked with kitchen appliances and even a BBQ grill! The condo itself has ample space, a huge bathroom, a walk in closet, a living room, a dining table that seats 6 and a washer and dryer! The atmosphere is relaxing and with 4 of us, there was plenty of space. The resort is the perfect distance between parks and the city. We enjoyed 4 days here, the amenities and the feeling of privacy. This place is not crowded at all, it was the perfect getaway. Major plus - it's super quiet, there's a gas station right next to it, a little market and a wine store about 500 feet away with tons of wine!

We were here 1 1/2 years ago when it was a staffed resort. Now, it's a vacation rental with each unit owned by investors but managed by Red Rock Vacation Rentals. The problem is, this place wasn't designed to be vacation rental friendly. I own one in Sedona so I know what a vacation rental should offer its guests. Amira is in a residential neighborhood with no restaurants, bars or grocery stores. There are no food options on property so you will have to go out to get food. As a side note, there also weren't any food options when we stayed here before. That's just the way it is. The rooms are large and spacious -- the biggest fault is they are lacking kitchens. Every vacation rental I've ever stayed in has had a kitchen, even if only a basic one. There is a small refrigerator, older microwave and hot kettle in each room along with a K-Cup coffee maker. No cooktop, no large fridge and no place to prepare food. Prior to selling these as vacation rentals, I really wish they would have added small kitchenettes and a place outside to BBQ. My guess it was probably sold "as is" due to poor occupancy. The last time we were here was in September 2018 and there was hardly anyone here. OK, here are some specifics: PROS It's Quiet - There are about 50 rooms and there are only about 5 are occupied this week as far as I can tell. I don't know if it is because of COVID or just the time of the year, but it's a ghost town. I like that part but for some it could be considered a con. If you like privacy, you'll get it here. No screaming kids at the adults only pool either. Yay! Amira offers two large pools (one adult, one kid-friendly) and a hot tub - Nice pool facilities but wish there were more covered areas with fans as it was 107 here today. Clean Rooms and Grounds - With the exception of the pool water, both the grounds and rooms are very clean. I was shocked at how clean the room was. Nice job housekeeping! Pool had lots of greasy film and bugs floating on it with no skimmer to clean it myself. The 1-bedroom has a large outdoor patio/deck which plenty of room to relax. Pets are Welcome - It's alway nice to bring our dog with us. Make sure you ask for a pet friendly unit. Pet fee not bad. There is a nice park at the bottom of the hill (5 minute drive) where you can walk your pup. Nice Gym and Guest Laundry Area CONS The biggest drawback -- Not a vacation rental friendly place. No luggage carts, no kitchen or cooking area in the room and no BBQ area outside. The room has a small basic fridge and an old microwave. There are no instructions in the room for accessing WiFi. No food or beverage options on site or nearby. Just a few staff members wondering around during the day. Pool water dirty and pool chairs were falling apart and hard to operate. Pool towels in the room are horrible and don't cover the chairs. Had to buy some in town because I hate bad pool towels. Not in a Commercial Location - You'll need to drive to town for grocery shopping, food and beverage. It's about 15 minutes. BAD BED!!!! The bed mattress is really saggy on the sides and extremely uncomfortable. This place does not have heavenly beds, that's for sure. If your primary requirement is a good bed, I'd skip this place. No daily housekeeping option. No robes (we brought our own tho). Spa is closed but assuming its due to COVID. In short, they are promoting this as a vacation rental property when it isn't equipped to be one. Since our last visit, I've noticed the human/service touch is gone. Being here is almost like being in the twilight zone. :( Adding small kitchens in the rooms, a BBQ area and some nice pool furniture/towels would help to bring more life to this place. I wouldn't buy one of these units as an investment until this was done.
