My 2.5-year old son loves his new school! We just moved to sugar land (Riverstone) and had the…read moredaunting task of having to choose a preschool (daunting because sugar land has so many great options). Despite it being new and unproven, we ultimately went with kiddie academy for a few reasons. First and foremost, the director Sarah is amazing. She has a strong vision for the school and is a perfectionist. So even though this is a franchise of a chain, I really felt like Sarah was going to put her stamp on it - everything from quality teacher recruitment and training to the school's chef/healthy menu to the curriculum adaptations. She has many years of early childhood education experience, great connections, and is ambitious. The leader of a school is paramount (and I found some questionable and disorganized leadership at the other schools I researched and visited). Sarah is sharp, responsive and easy to communicate with. The staff and students love her. The other big reason we went with this school (and believe me we researched about a dozen, from Montessori to Reggio Emilia) is because the facilities are fantastic. Big, beautiful, naturally sunlit classrooms with just enough brand new toys and supplies and books (without feeling cluttered or overwhelming). The outdoor play area is awesome, and they have future plans for a splash pad and soccer field. There's also enough room indoors for physical play when it's too hot or rainy to go outside. And the security system is top notch. I love the flexibility that this school gives parents - they offer infant education through pre-K (so our soon to be born daughter can join her big bro at the same school). Their extended hours are the default (6:30-6:30) though you can opt for fewer than 5 days/week if you prefer. They take very few holidays - which is key for working parents. And they use the latest technology (apps and live streaming TV) to keep parents in the know all day/week long. I love being able to see how my son is behaving, adjusting, eating, napping, playing, etc. The only big question mark I had was about really small classrooms (since the school is still new, opened early 2018) and an undeveloped community of parents, teachers, etc. I think that still remains to be seen, but my very social son has been very happy in his first week there. And I've loved my conversations with the teachers. They are warm, helpful and supportive. When I picked my son up yesterday he didn't want to leave. Excited to help this school develop and establish a strong presence in the sugar land area. Message me if you want to know more.

A Big Thank You to All the Teachers at Creative Learning Academy…read more As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the amazing team at Creative Learning Academy. This review may be a little long, but it comes straight from the heart. I enrolled my daughter in this school when she was just 10 months old, and she stayed until she was almost 3.5 years old. Looking back, I am overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude for the incredible foundation this place gave her. To my surprise and joy, my little baby grew into a confident, independent, and respectful little girl--all thanks to the loving and nurturing environment at Creative Learning. As a working mom, the thought of leaving my baby with someone else was difficult and emotional. But from day one, the teachers welcomed us with open arms. They made both me and my daughter feel at home. For her, it truly became a second home. She still talks about her time there and shares sweet stories and memories that warm my heart. All of my daughter's big firsts--crawling, standing, walking--happened at Creative Learning. I'm forever grateful to every single teacher who played a role in her journey. I especially want to thank Miss Sheila, Miss Sylvia, Miss Brinda, Miss Leslie, Miss Katia, and Miss Sureya--each of you holds a special place in our hearts. Because of you all, I was always at peace knowing my daughter was in the best hands possible. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Love Mom

Their pricing was great and they became a second family. They stood strong during covid and never closed, and my son was never sick. Despite moving further away from this location, I kept my son at CLA until he started Kindergarten. I love that CLA is family-owned, and they are all personable and deal with anything with compassion and humor. I was sad to leave and the staff here will always have a piece of my heart. Sincere Thank You! *Edit to add that my son is more advanced in Kindergarten, both socially and academically. I know this is due to the great work of the teachers and learning program at CLA.*

First Colony Montessori has been a blessing for our family…read more Ms. Laura and her dedicated staff (Ms. Ana, Ms. Jenny) have been wonderful. It's been 3 months that our son (20 months) has been going to FCMS and we see a world of a difference in how independent he has become and continues to do so. Ms. Ana is very patient and engaging with the children and they love her. She took a lot of trouble to get our son used to the school since this was his first. Now he looks forward to going to school everyday. As parents we are always in the loop with what is going on with our son (emails, newsletters, cameras), so it puts us at ease as well. We toured around quite a bit before we decided on FCMS and so glad we made this decision. Would definitely recommend FCMS many times over.

The director is amazing--so warm, thoughtful, and on top of things. She really sets the tone for the whole school. The teachers are patient, nurturing, and truly take the time to understand each child's needs and personality. Another huge plus: they provide healthy meals that actually encourage kids to try new things. Our little one went from being super picky to being open to all kinds of new foods, thanks to what they serve at school. It's been such a supportive environment for both our kids, and we really feel like they've grown emotionally, socially, and academically because of their time here. Highly recommend to any family considering Montessori!

UPDATE In response to their response: unfortunately none of that was our experience. I don't feel…read morelike the curriculum was effective. My son got bit multiple times and noone knew who did it or what happened, so that alone is a safety concern. It's not like you have cameras for the parents to view. I heard with my own ears the treatment of the kids in other classrooms. Please don't try to discredit that-- instead, take it as constructive criticism and make a change. It's also strange to encourage people to call and ask questions about the review I'm leaving. I'm stating my experience and it's valid. for 3 months straight I was contemplating keeping him there or moving him, I cried so much because I didn't feel like I made the right choice with enrolling him here but I gave so many chances within 3 months. Anyway... enroll your kids here if you want. But It just didn't work for us. I'd tour other facilities in the area before devoting yourself to this one and make your best judgment for value and quality. ---- They deleted my REAL review from google to where it's only viewable from my own google account but not publicly, and all they have is 5 star reviews. It's very concerning to have childcare facilities deleting actual reviews. I will post that review here. Parents please get in-person feedback when it comes to deciding a childcare program, because clearly they only care about how they look on google. Also this daycare is multiple hundreds dollars more expensive than the others in the area. More expensive does not equal better quality. Review I posted on google that got deleted : My son attended here for only 3 months and I wanted to love it so bad because of the name Goddard holds. However seeing him thrive at his new daycare just solidifies my opinion. His first few weeks he kept getting bit by another child and no one knew what happened. 3 out of the 4 times it happened, there wasn't a witness. Then the teacher said "maybe he took the other kids toy" ??? I don't care if he did or not, biting is not acceptable but no one even seen it happen so how would you know? I know this will happen with kids that are under 2 but for it to happen so often and it was never witnessed by staff, I always found it after pick up when I put him in the car.. sorry but that's ridiculous. Also, he was always put in a high chair instead of being able to sit in a toddler chair bc "he wouldn't stay sitting down" however this hasn't been an issue at his current facility. They hardly changed his diaper, and by no surprise the school always smelled like a dirty diaper. He didn't learn anything here. They dont have cameras. Curriculum was either not effective or just nonexistent. They don't do anything fun like spirit week, and if they do it's not communicated to parents. On multiple occasions I heard teachers from other classrooms yelling at their students being very mean and aggressive . Moving him was the best decision I've made. I genuinely don't understand all the positive reviews.

This school could be amazing if it weren't for Rana! She's very unprofessional. She's a true snake!…read moreRana is the type of person to tell you that your child needs to stay away from a specific child because they're a bad influence on them. Then proceed to tell you the name of the child and anyone the child is having an issue with. She is the type to allow a specific little boy literally to bite everyone and attack them for a year yet he's still there and he broke the skin when he bit my daughter. She also told me his name. She hired a new teacher that lacked proper communication skills, so she switched my child's class after saying she was separating her from her bad influence. Any altercation I was made aware of exactly which kid. So, once my child started hitting kids back, she blamed it on my child. My child would have bites, scratches, cuts, bruises and nobody could tell me anything! Yet once my child hits the kids back, I'm getting a phone call or talks in passing. I've never received an incident report or observation report. Not to mention in the evenings the kids are basically watching themselves! You will literally see them opening doors running out. I once wrote an honest review, and she pulled me into her office because people could see it and it wasn't to her liking. Well, my daughter has a speech therapist that it took Rana 2.5 months to verify her background further delaying my child. I've run into about 6 other parents that feel as I do and said they feel she racially profiles our kids. In the later days she started telling myself and dad that specific kids were leaving because of my kid. Again, name dropping. I have seen 3 of said parents and they all said she was lying, and they left because of her and her actions. You can't go to her with issues as she listens to respond and over talks you. You can't call with concerns if you can't go up there she's never available and doesn't return your calls. Also, when I worked in childcare rule #1 is you never tell another child's name to the parent of a child, they had an issue with. There are no cameras so you have nothing to go off of and in the last month my daughter would cry and beg not to go to school saying kids and Ms. A (Rana) were mean to her. Naturally this frustrated me beyond words as this is my mf'n kid! I don't play about either of my kids! The owner should really reconsider his director. Not to mention my daughter came home on her last day there last week with a bite mark. Later that night formed bumps on her hands later found out it was hand foot and mouth! Which further frustrated me as I have a newborn. I wasn't ever made aware of this, (the biting or the virus) and it wasn't acknowledged when I called the and wrote Rana. I have 5 recorded conversations with Rana specifically talking about other kid's name dropping and one in particular the one she said was a bad influence is on majority of my recordings. Pls do your research when considering. I haven't had any issues with assistant director Cynthia or office assistant Vanessa just her. Once again just be aware and alert. While touring new schools 4 of them told me they've been having parents tour leaving or wanting to leave that school and there issues are lack of having enough supervision in the classrooms but mainly her and her unprofessionalism. Oh and she said she'd email me these "incident and observation reports" that I've never seen! So, if they have a signature that's a lawsuit. As none of my household has been presented with one.
