My daughter attended this daycare for about a month and in this ONE month, she has a busted lip TWICE, got sick from virus's that were going around (understandable to an extent, but if you're cleaning and sanitizing your facility and having parents come to get their child if they're obviously sick or refusing the child to attend for the day if they're obviously sick, no one else's child should be sick for 3 weeks straight), none of her teachers could explain what happened or why, i never got a phone call about it or was given an incident report for either times and to top it all off, the first time we noticed her busted lip we were told "she came to the daycare" that way and they were just letting us know. I know what my child looks like before i leave her and i wouldve noticed something like that (IF this were this case) but it wasn't and it happened there. I no longer felt safe for my child to attend this daycare so i removed her and let the directors know. On the phone call to let the assistant director know, she sounded sort of nonchalant, didn't ask when it happened or if my daughter was okay, didn't offer to come to a solution or speak to her teachers about it. I always felt uneasy about leaving her there but i figured it was just because it was her first time going to daycare... NOPE trust your gut mamas. Whenever i picked her up she would always cry and run to me and she never looked well kept like they hadn't wiped her nose all day or changed her diaper. These things matter otherwise what am i paying you to watch my kid for ? She attended her new academy today and she loved it from the moment we walked in, forgot i was even there before i left and i can see her on the cameras having fun. I'm glad i made the switch and if you don't want to have to deal with this, you should avoid this daycare and find a place that makes you feel good about leaving your child there. My 3yo daughter…read morewas going into her 3rd week, and I get a call from the director stating some one needed to pick her up in the next hour or so because she wasn't listening. I have a few problems with this particular approach. First off, if I'm paying money for weekly childcare and the directors first option when a child isn't listening is to have the parents come pick them up! Huh?? My 3yo is no saint (whose 3yo is) and she throws tantrums and doesn't listen at times but it is not as if she was tearing the facility up. Numbers were provided to the facility so we can be called, in the event she wasn't listening. Last week I was called by her teacher and I spoke with my daughter and wasn't called again for the day. The director called today and I explained that I would tell to her but all she kept saying was your daughter won't listen to me. The director's English is not necessarily the best as I had a hard time understanding her. When I came to pick up my daughter I was expecting her to be in the front, however, she was in the back with all the kids eating. She (at the time) was not causing any distractions, so if she was that uncontrollable then how was the "licensed" staff able to get her in control. I explained my displeasure to both the assistant director and director. Families work and fortunately I was off to take care of the situation, but in normal circumstances who can mid-morning have the freedom to just leave work. This wasn't the 1st time this happened. And again this was my daughter's 3rd week. I would bet my life that this is not the 1st strong-willed 3yo this facility has dealt with and I'm sure it's not the last. I wished them the best but future potential customers be warned.

Their curriculum is play and project based, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. They have Spanish class, as well as optional gymnastics and soccer classes. They are very safe and cautious in terms of COVID pandemic rules -- and when the case load gets better for a prolonged time, then they reassess. One of the things my family has most appreciated is their COVID policy. All teachers wear masks, and all kids above a certain age (3ish) wear masks as well -- aside from when eating & optionally when playing outside. They have chickens outside, a flower and vegetable garden, and rabbits and 2 aquariums inside. Right now, some of the classes are raising caterpillars into moths and butterflies, and they have just harvested some of the chicken eggs and will get to incubate them and watch them hatch! Such great experiences for kids of all ages to have. They provide gourmet lunches made in-house from fresh ingredients, many of which are organic. On Friday afternoons, you can also buy some of their house-made goodies -- they have an assortment of baked goods, desserts, soups, and savory/main dishes. If you are late on Fridays, they may sell out of certain items.

As an LCISD teacher myself, I am grateful for all the things my boys have been learning both socially and academically at American Heritage Academy. After the introduction, my husband and I were taken to the back to get a glimpse of the infant room. First of all, there was food on the floor in the area under the table where the older infants are placed, and two cups on the floor. There was a teacher by herself changing out diapers and when the other teacher walked in there was no sense of urgency in cleaning the mess, by the time she did begin to sweep several minutes had already passed, she picked one of the cups placed it on the counter and put the broom back. Took her several more minutes to realize there was more food on the other side and didn't bother to pick up the other cup, and not to mention no one bothered to wash the first cup that was on the floor. The other side of the smaller infants there was no interaction with them what so ever, no sense of compassion, they were just on the floor being observed by the staff, one of the staff had bright pink two inch nails on. When I brought that to the director's attention, he said he has never had a complaint of scratches before and if he did, he would then bring it to attention and change that. Not to mention when I first walked in the front staff did smile and greet, but other staff that came out from the back did not smile or greet or even acknowledge I was there. At the end of the tour I told the director I would not be bringing my baby here due to all of these issues I witnessed firsthand.

Because of the age gap in our kids, we've experienced almost every classroom and can whole heartedly say that everyone there is amazing. The teachers are very loving and work hard to provide a well rounded curriculum from an early age. Our daugther is know school age and loves the after school program (which they pick her up from school as part of the tuition). During the summer she is enrolled full time and we have been SUPER impressed with the summer schedule of events for the school age kids. They have gotten to take some pretty amazing field trips as well as have some very cool on campus experiences. We can't thank CC enough for all the steps they took to continue to provide childecare to essential workers (which both me and my husband are) during the heart of the pandemic. Their safety measures and open communication really put us at ease and allowed us to continue helping others at work. Can't say enough great things about this place!

She was there from newborn to preschool then before and after school and every summer camp. The teachers are so loving and many of them have been there for my daughter's entire life. Very low turnover, all the teachers know her by name and they know us as parents. Clean, safe, secure, and off the main roads but in a really great area. Needless to say I can't imagine a world where I did not have them as part of the "village" that it takes to raise my child. Thank you for the 11 years!

We have 3 children (twin 3 yr old girls & a 7 yr old boy) who attend and have attended My Place for years and I felt compelled to talk about why we never left. The difference is the people. Yes, they have a fantastic facility, security, high tech interactive gym, very clean, healthy meals...but the most important thing is how the teachers engage and interact with our children. I could give several examples, but we've had a child who passed out due to a breath-hold spell that a teacher quickly acted on and potentially saved our Child's life. This was all caught on video. I've seen teachers buy our child a little gift for Christmas out of their own pocket book. They have helped us get our infants into the building when it was raining. They keep us in the loop if there's any concern for our children. They keep us updated on their individual development process. This is just the type of people they are! And because we've been elsewhere, we know not everyone is like that! One key indicator is our children don't cry when we drop them off at school, they run to class excited. This was not true of the other places. Under the bridge program, my son flourished and was prepared for KISD's kinder curriculum. My Place has been incredible for their education/development, their care and they have a great time doing it! We highly recommend this family-oriented school and wouldn't think about leaving!
