Very nice place. I have come here a couple of times for their Sunday buffet. It is very tasty nice selection of both Mexican and Italian food. They have someone playing the piano at times. Villa Saverios Restaurant is a Tijuana institution that has been around for years and years. The local gentry use it as their private cantina, both for special occasions and everyday meals with friends or business associates. It is part of the Grupo Plasencia, which owns and manages a number of quality restaurants in the area. The valet parking is convenient. When I entered the restaurant through double glass doors into the reception, the hostess and host [with his back to the door] are chatting. Not good. I stand at attention near them. They know me and know I always have Marcelino as my waiter, so I am quickly led into the dining room. However, if they did not know me, I would think a greater professionalism at the door would be warranted. Nonetheless, once you are in the hands of the waiters, and especially Marcelino, all is well. I was presented the wine list from which I selected the 2008 Casa Pedro Domecq Reserva Magna Cosecha Limitado Valle de Calafia, which is a "mezcla" [mixture] of Nebbiolo and Petite Sirah grapes. Marcelino carefully decanted the wine and thereafter I perused the menu. I ordered the Grilled Lamb T-Bone over a vegetable puree, with gnocchi, all bathed in a pepper-brandy sauce. Good French bread is served, along with an addictive lavash, called "Tostaritas". A minestrone soup or small and ordinary Caesar salad is offered as an included appetizer. Throughout the meal, Marcelino never let the wine go dry, and when I was ready to leave, he had my car ready at the front of the restaurant, with the motor running, and with the valet at attention. Went here yesterday and ate at the bar. The server was terribly slow although he only had 3 tables. The food however, saved the day. Delicious and perfect. All the way up until the dessert. I had the cobbler and could only eat one bite. I know i was expecting my grandmothers cobbler and nothing could match that, but ive had better cobbler at a retirement home i used yo volunterr at. It was grainy and bland and just plain bad. I will be back because the food and drink was amazing. Maybe I will sit in the dining room with an actual server. We were 12 people, we order quite a few appetizers, which the first came 20 minutes later and the last appetizer came when we were having the actual main dish. If you are looking for amazing Italian food this is the place. Grew up on Classic Italian dishes in Boston's North End so I am pretty well versed on what is and isn't good Italian food. Each course was impeccably presented. Brought out hot and served properly. Must tries if you go. The calamari. Fresh. Cook perfectly and presented with two great sauces which are unneeded. Just eat with squeeze of lemon it's so good. Pasta Fra Diavlo with shrimp. Again excellent. My friend was confused on what to order so the waiter brought out one of the chefs. Partially I think because he spoke English for my benefit. She is Mexican so it was funny the three way conversations between her me the chef and the waiter. In the end he made a special beef filet dish which was off the charts. Place is romantic. Yet still one or two families with little kids at 10 at night. Oh did I mention they have a piano player. This dinner in LA with drinks and dessert easily above $250 with tip. In Mexico it was only $75 so with tip just over $100. Definitely a must visit. read more

I remember when it was one of the best places to go in Tijuana. Not any more. I took guests from out of town and the food we ordered was not even close to restaurant caliber one expects paying such high prices. We also ordered Cesar's salad and I was amusing my guests about how Tijuana is the true origin of the now world famous salad. The waiter prepared the salad at the table and everyone were enthusiastically watching the preparation. The outcome w as horrible. Too bad Victor's Restaurant is gone. Then just last week I made the same mistake by going again with friends. It was just past 2:00 PM and most tables were empty. We had to wait to be seated, had to ask for menu, complimentary bread never came, had to summon a waiter for the wine list......and the place almost empty. At the end I had to wait patiently for the check. Food again was not at par. So sorry I chose this place again. It will not happen again for sure. I will not recommend this place to any of my friends. I came to the conclusion that the owners over extended themselves by opening new restaurants and totally dropped the ball in supervising the ones they started with. read more

My wife mentioned her pasta was bland and then remembered the chops lacked any hint of seasoning (and left me hunting for salt/pepper to no avail ). The place is beautiful and first class. I have not been to this place and we had over other friends talking about it before. ....Absolutely the best prime rib I have ever tasted.!! We also ordered the rack of lamb which was also a winner. The servings were surprisingly large compared to what we are used to in USA. Another was the seared tuna done just right and portion was amazing. The food was excellent along with the atmosphere and staff on board. The interior design was beautiful. The oyster appetizer and carpaccio was very well presented and tasted awesome. Manager Daniel is especially attentive and after seeing me several times knows exactly what I want; given that I have some dietary limitations and exclusions this is very helpful. If you are looking for a classy and romantic restaurant in Tijuana I can highly recommend Villa Saverios for a dining experience which for me has always been nothing short of magical and superb in every respect. i took my wife here on tuesday about 3:00 in the afternoon 05/29/2018 because she was here before with friends and family and liked the food. all the parking spots in front were taken so we had no choice but to park in the back. immediately a parking lot attendant in a biege shirt starts to harangue and harass me about how i parked my car. to be fair i do not think he even worked for this restaurant but the asian one next door which shares a common parking lot. i grew up in times square nyc and i can park any car, garbage truck, bus or rv perfectly in any spot in the world in one shot. i do not need a parking lot attendant harassing me about my parking. its perfect now and perfect just like the last forty years. i came to this expensive fancy restaurant to relax and have a good time, not to be accosted and harassed. to be fair the food was good and the service was excellent. but i can eat good food anywhere in san diego, ca for the same price or cheaper and get the same service. i do not need to go to another country to go to a fancy expensive restaurant and pay a lot of money to be accosted and harassed. although my wife and her family and friends like this place a lot, next time i will just stay in san diego, ca and eat in an expensive fancy high class restaurant without all the unnecessary tijuana low class bullshit. read more
