I guess today's review is a 3 1/2 star. My first review was a five star. My second review was a four star. I did notice that the chef wasn't in the kitchen but meeting with people so he didn't make our meals but the bar always makes the most fantastic drinks and the waiters are so much fun and so attentive. They're the best part of the evening. I hope our next trip is a five star.

The service was amazing and the food was delicious 10/10! The food was reasonable price too! I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rosarito.

The hype is REAL for this place. If you visit Rosarito, you HAVE to take a taco break and head over to Pasta Y Basta for some of the best Italian food you've ever had. You can't go wrong with anything you order. I usually go for the risotto or the carbonara and both are insanely good. The carbonara is not some alfredo sauce knock-off - no. It's perfectly creamy and decadent and seriously TO DIE FOR. Also, their meat and cheese board is unmatched. Have you ever eaten prosciutto that literally melts in your mouth?! I have. Every time I go to Pasta y Basta. I also have to shout of the service because you'd be hard pressed to find better anywhere else. I'm not just saying this either. They are friendly, knowledgable, attentive, and they all work together as one team. It really makes for a great experience. If you can't stay for dinner, swing by the market inside and pick up a sandwich. They are, yep - you guessed it - AMAZING. As I said before, if you're in town, make the time to stop in. I promise you won't regret it!

Pasta y Basta. Orange Pelligrino. My new favorite drink.

Wifey and I came here for lunch on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She had already eaten lunch at a nearby Menuderia, but I passed on that one. I really don't dig menudo. I really wanted some pizza and this place had some good reviews on Yelp. A genuinely friendly man greeted and seated us when we walked in. They were pretty dead as we arrived about 10 minutes after they opened. Since we were new, the chef made us both a frittata with pesto on top. A perfect starter, light and airy. My wife ate hers too, even though she was stuffed with menudo. We were seated close to the kitchen and most of the staff were busy with deliveries. I ordered the Carnivora pizza. It included tomato sauce, mozzarella, smoked ham, salame, sausage, and pepperoni. The pizza cost me 300 pesos ($15.50). The waiter told me all the ingredients for the dough came from Italy and the chef, Christian Gritti, is from Bergamo, Italy. This restaurant opened in the summer of 2015 and had a definite Italian feel to it, with the Italian deli attached. My pizza had the crispy crust I expect from wood fired pizza and the quadruple threat of meats tasted great, especially that smoked ham. It was the perfect size for me and I killed it with some fresh Parmesan and olive oil on top. I paired the pizza with a SanPelligrino called Aranciata Rossa. This orange sparkling drink had a refreshing, citrus burst and is now my favorite drink besides tea. If you visit Rosarito and are in the mood for Italian food, go here. The food is authentic Italian made by a real Italian. The prices are pretty low too.

Outstanding dining on the humble Carretera Ensenada Libre. Just south of Rosarito, this unassuming restaurant is serving world class Italian with excellent service. How do I know it's world class? Because I haven't seen my abs since high school because of the pasta I eat everywhere in the world I go. And this belly is very picky when it comes to pasta. I definitely know good service, and the lack thereof. Read my reviews and judge for yourself. This place has well trained, attentive and super cool and friendly waiters and waitresses. The dining room is small but warm and inviting. The kitchen is open, and the smell of pizzas baking with the sound of pans shaking livens the air. I was told they make the world's best lasagna here... It was pretty damn good. Plenty of meaty and cheesy filling, served hot, with a cap of melted gooey mozzarella and parmesan. The sauce is definitely boss - very well balanced... not too sweet, not too acidic, nice amount of garlic and basil... all flavor. This is not Stouffers folks... this is amazing. Top 3 for me.

Every time we come to Rosarito, my family loves this place. The pizza is wood brick and my kids can't get enough. We had reservations for New Year's and they had our table ready at the time assigned. Food here is always fresh and home made. My husband ordered gnocchi but he did not like the flavor, therefore the owner quickly came out to change his plate to include a different pasta choice with any questions asked. The chef Chris is the best and will go to any lengths to satisfy his customers. I highly recommend this place... Ambience is very joyful and welcoming

Still one of the places we must visit whenever we are in Rosarito!! The mushroom Risotto is still my all time favorite and it's Gluten Free!! This place has a few options for GF and it's displayed on the menu. We also got the steak tonight and it was so tender!!

Oh my goodness. As a New Jerseyan visiting Mexico, I was highly impressed. I never expected Italian food to be this good in Mexico. Service was impeccable, 3 of our group were running late for the reservation, they let us order drinks and hold the table until our whole group got there. Back to the food, we talked about the bread for 5 days after, we got 3 orders of table bread. Order the table bread & bruschetta. Trust me. Pizza was also really good too because of the dough. Our pasta orders were all very good but not as mind blowing as the appetizers. Drinks were fantastic and get lemon cello shots to round out the night!! Overall, it's not what you come to Rosarito for, but you will leave full and happy!

Very good restaurant! I have to go here when in the area! My favorite dish is the seafood spaghetti.

He sang karaoke with us and treated us great the food was good but unfortunately I did not take a picture of my shrimp Diablo, but it was really good but extremely spicy. My wife had the steak and baked potatoes as you can see in the picture the baked potatoes are different from what we're used to in America but it was pretty good all in all this restaurant is good and convenient, especially if you're staying at the La Paloma the server Israel has great energy and he also recommended a cab service and places to go shopping and eat for our trip for that were thankful and we really enjoyed this place. The service was excellent, I feel like they treated us quite special and it felt like a hometown spot where our friends work. The food was really good! We had the shrimp cocktail, which ended up being shrimp, ceviche, sliced avocados on top chips and crackers, and it was citrusy, very lightly spiced (my partner is a slice wimp!), and super fresh. We Paired that with the shrimp pasta, and that was surprisingly delicious as well. The pasta was cooked a bit al dente, which is how we like it, lots of shrimp, with a really nice marinara sauce. The marinara sauce would not heavy, so it complemented the shrimp in the pasta really well. For Beverages, Daniel made me a special margarita. I don't do tequila very well, so he made a strawberry margarita, light on the tequila, heavy on the grand mariner. It had a little Tajin on the rim, a sliced orange and it was refreshing and delicious. The prices are hotel expensive though. So we ended up spending $50. I do remember Mexico being a place where you can get inexpensive food, but I guess not here. I mean, we got one appetizer one meal and two beverages. But we would come here again, because we had a great time!
