Beautiful hotel, too bad it's so out of the way.
We arrived in Rome via train at Termini station. This hotel was just a short ride from the station, so that was nice. Although we got ripped off by a not-so-official taxi driver...(our fault). The hotel itself has a gated entry and is set back from busy streets.
Beautiful and clean throughout. Helpful front desk staff. Gorgeous raised ceilings and curtains, comfy bed and nice sheets. Lovely bathroom and amenities. Great bath tub, too...however the shower head wouldn't stay put so you had to use it hand-held. Also the half-glass thing didn't keep much water in and I'm afraid I made a mess of the bathroom every time I showered because there wasn't a curtain or a complete closure like I said.
Breakfast was held upstairs in a beautiful space with great views, too bad we had such rainy weather! Cappuccinos, yummy fresh croissants and other baked goods, granola and muesli, eggs, meat and cheeses, yogurts. Great breakfasts overall, although some more fresh fruit couldn't hurt.
The only downfall staying here as a tourist, there is literally nothing to do nearby. There is a hospital and a university close by, but nothing to speak up as far as shopping or eateries. What restaurants we did see were just lunch time pizza by the slice type joints. To do or see anything we had to hop on the metro, which isn't so bad. It would just be nice to have more things to do in walking distance. All in all we had a great stay! read more
