If you are planning to stay here, I'd highly recommend taking a taxi from the airport (~35 euro) or packing light. The hike up the hill with luggage can be a challenge, even if you're in decent shape. Service at the hotel is 4.5 stars. Phillippe is awesome and has great recommendations for dinner. He's friendly and welcoming. I would give him 5 stars. I would've rated the hotel higher, but it is a bit of a trek to the touristy spots. In addition, the walls are thin, so you can hear everything that goes on in the room next door. Our neighbors were definitely having a lot of "fun" on our last night. Even though I knocked on their wall several times, I wasn't able to stop their late night fun. We thought our room included the breakfast buffet, unfortunately it didn't and we had a 16 euro/pp/day charge. It wasn't that we minded the charge, but the food was definitely not worth the 16 euro/day. There weren't that many choices at breakfast. The hotel provides free wifi access, although it is spotty. It is also limited to two sign-ons per room. If you have a lot of wifi devices, you'll find yourself trying to figure out which device you want to connect to the wifi. There are some other creative ways you can get online, but I'm sure other yelp reviewers are smart enough to figure it out. :) If I visited Nice again, I would probably pay the extra $ and stay at the Hotel Negresco. I do recommend this hotel if you have a rental car. Nice is car friendly and this particular hotel is located in a residential area, so there is plenty of free street parking.

The hotel has an excellent breakfast buffet downstairs with plenty of options including pastries and charcuterie. As it was February, the pool was not available but understandable as it is winter. The gym is serviceable, but has limited equipment. The hotel location is away from the hubbub of Nice, which is great if you do not like street noise. But it does mean a drive or tram ride is needed to get to the main attractions in Nice. Still, I rate this as my favorite hotel stay in Nice because of its sea view.

The hotel has only one very old style, metal-doored elevator that can fit (at most) 3 skinny people with no big baggage on hand. Location of the hotel is farther inland and is a 7 minutes walk to the nearest grocery store. My family had a rental car so it was easy to get to the beach and to other parts of Nice. But if we hadn't, the walk back to the hotel after walking across Nice the whole day might have seemed daunting to say the least.

Our family shot a few games of pool each day just for fun. The stunning, red and white pool table is located near the lobby, across from a white grand piano. "VIEW, LOCATION, VIEW" The spot is perfect for the beach view and the angel for the sunset. Also, several of their room styles have a balcony, but I do recommend the privilege room which has 2 doors, longer balcony, and in higher floor. My family loves the views so much and we don't miss the sunset every day we stay. Besides that, their breakfast is worth trying as well with the option of $30 euros per person. Although, you may get a better bundle deal when booking, to me, I prefer not to for more chances to try local restaurants. The only downside is their room is tiny even, the privilege room, but the views beat everything else! Also, they don't have parking lot, but it's easy to call Uber for the ride.
