Our multi course meal was phenomenal. I posted a picture of the menu. From the first course of smoked duck with fennel and pink grapefruit, our tastebuds came to life. The duck was tender and mildly smoked. When the second course came out, we started to moan. The risotto with porcini mushrooms and goat cheese was not only the best of the entire 2 weeks in Italy, it was the best many of us had ever had in our lives. Orgasmic doesn't do this risotto justice. Many of us made the mistake of having seconds, not smart when having a five course meal. The second orgasm was as good as the first. By the time the filet came out, we were full, but happy to try this tender cut. It was cooked to a medium rare perfection and the presentation made it that much more delightful. I can go on, but you need to fill in your own blanks. Would I recommend? Read the review again! I cannot wait to return to Florence. This is a dining experience worth repeating every trip.

The villa itself could not be in a better location as the views are stunning. We did not go with the honeymoon suite based on the advice of our wedding planner and instead went with the room with the large balcony overlooking the garden which was just stunning. We were in Italy for 12 days and this was definitely our favorite place we stayed. Breakfast was amazing and included in the room price. Everyone spoke very good English and informed us about Florence and where to go, what to see, etc. Alina in particular was so sweet and helped us with anything we needed during our several months of planning. We used a wedding planner but Alina is definitely there to help you if you wanted to plan the wedding on your own. The food at the wedding was delicious and they took extra care in preparing a wine menu that went with each dish we were served. I assumed it would just be a standard "red" and "white" but each course had a different sampling which complimented the course beautifully. I had my absolute dream wedding thanks to this location and when we visit Florence again in the future, we will make sure to book here again and again.

The art they have installed on the walls is beautiful and the decor blew me away We bought a bottle of wine and laid out on the terrace and watched the sun go down. *cliche, i know* This is the type of place to splurge and really relax and enjoy yourself. If I lived in Florence, this is the place I would staycation at. The only thing I am slightly bummed out on was the beautiful garden you aren't allowed to tour. I was so interested in seeing the castle on the grounds and the beautiful garden.

In fact, the back of the extensive garden (that has its own website) is the city wall. There are 9 rooms, each with its own theme, and each with a gorgeous claw foot tub. Breakfast is served in a gorgeous living room with hand-painted relief ceiling, chandelier, and beautiful antique hard wood floors. Left over biscuits are made available to nibble on throughout the day. There's an "honesty" fridge with drinks. You can eat in the living room, or on the enormous deck overlooking the gardens. Florence is a beautiful city. But no matter where they had located this hotel, it would be worth a trip in and of itself.

Staff was not nearly as helpful as all the other hotels we have had. They booked us a taxi to a train station that the taxi driver said has been inoperable for FIVE YEARS. I totally understand missing construction when it is new, but 5 years? Thankfully the taxi driver redirected us to a train station 20 minutes away. I probably wouldn't recommend this place.
