I normally never give a place a five star rating but every once in awhile it is very deserved…read more Palazzo Belfiore is a gem in the city of Florence. A 14th century palazzo with several apartments available for rent for vacation stays. Besides the fact that it is extremely representative of the city. Each apartment has a kitchen angle, free wifi and a unique layout. Lots of antique furniture and interesting pieces. Plus the service is what makes them stand out. They go out of their way for guests and even do a little special something for those celebrating a birthday or anniversary. They also can help with artisan tours, and other various local suggestions on where to eat and what to visit. the price range is great and the surrounding neighborhood is one of the best in the city. Highly recommend for those looking for a unique stay in Florence to feel 'like a local'

The apartment style residences were spacious and had an authentic feel that made our stay very enjoyable. The apartment was fully stocked with amenities and very clean. The location of the residence was ideal in that all major attractions in the city were within a 15 minute walk but the nearby surrounding area was quiet with good restaurants and cafés. The best part of our stay however was the staff. Above and beyond help and assistance with any questions or concerns we had. The head of staff Federico truly cared about our stay and made sure out stay was enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if staying in Florence!

They have a vineyard to grow the grapes for their wine, sold locally only and they do have a bold and beautiful vintage. The winery is very impressive, a portion of the property where they cellar much of the wine to age is left from castle tower which was an impressive site to see. The villa is located in the hills of Florence overlooking several other villas off in the country side. The location serves as a hotel as well as venue for celebrations, the view from the pool is most impressive. They have a very large dining room to entertain guests as well as wine tours. We sat down to an absolutely wonder pesto pasta and plenty of wine. You can walk around and tour the villa as well, the private quarters you will not be able to see but the entire place is absolutely beautiful and as the rest of these properties located across Florence has never left the hands of the family. We left very very happy, very full and with plenty of wine. We purchased some bottles and took them with us. You may also have bottles shipped right there, you won't find it outside of Florence. If you like to take a tour through a company called city wonders, they will arrange everything for you, including transportation and e sure you get home afterwards.

Only a quick 15 minute ride into the city center, and the reception was very helpful in calling taxis to come pick us up (and even drove us in themselves on several occasions).

The Loggia Rooftop Bar at Palazzo Guadagni might be my favorite place to get a drink in Florence…read more It was our first stop for aperitivo and I'm still thinking about how it was the perfect start to a great trip. A fairytale-like experience, with gorgeous views of Santo Spirito and the terracotta-tiled rooftops. It's a little expensive, but what you'd expect at a hotel rooftop bar and I feel it's worth the splurge. There's a full cocktail menu, including various spritzes and wines, so have at it. I prefer sticking to a spritz or wine (in general) in Italy and of course their Aperol Spritz is on point. They'll serve you little snacky snacks like olives, chips and taralli, which I appreciate (and wish the majority of places in the states did this, but I find that only the most pricey hotel bars give you snacks. Don't you think snacks are crucial when drinking?) Heating lamps in chillier weather allow for you to enjoy the experience practically all year long. Note: they can accommodate groups of 4-6 on the couches that line the interior of the terrace, but if you're a table of 2, you get to be right at the best viewpoint. The crowd is as touristy as you'd expect and on my last visit, I found it leaning towards folks in their 20s (I sure as hell wasn't drinking in bars like this when I was in my 20s). Service is prompt and slightly formal, if not the warmest you'll experience in town. And as you'd expect, you're welcome to stay for a while, taking in the sunset or evening as you like, an idyllic way to get your night started.
