Just sliced thin bread with some salty herbs on the top crust. The Caesar salad was tasty. I appreciate the homemade croutons (but those were too salty for my liking). They were out of the beef tips (at 5:30 pm), so we had the pasta with sausage. It was just ok. Nothing great. The bean soup was just ok. At first, I tasted "metal tomatoes" and then I thought Olive Garden's soup is better. I pause - haven't been to Olive Garden in about 30 years. Anyway, there was nothing wrong. Just not what was expected for an established and locally loved venue. I truly hope the owners appreciate my opinions and work to recharge and refresh their restaurant. I too am on a plan requiring an unearthly amount of protein abd good fiber and Ofcourse they offer plenty of options, but the store seems organized in a way to primary support protein from whole or whole ish foods and generally includes options with minimal additives as opposed to the addition of whey protein to literally everything. I can't say I feel financially responsible when shopping at Whole Foods, but I can say that I appreciate a few tried and true staples that they seem to exclusively carry, and for that, meal prep, and consistently great service, I'm thankful.
