This is a charming B & B is located close to the Chiesa Nuova bus stop. Our room was clean and had everything we needed (shampoo, a corkscrew). Although there aren't any ocean views, we had a balcony overlooking the town with a patio table and chairs that was a great place to relax and enjoy a bottle of wine. The young man working the front desk spoke only a little English, but it was enough to get by and everyone was very friendly. In the winter the town is very quiet with only a few restaurants open, but the restaurant we did go to (Saraceno D'Oro, about a 5-10 min walk down the road) was incredible. We also walked to the beach (only a 15-20 min walk, but there are a lot of stairs on the way back up). The highlight of our time on the Amalfi Coast was hiking the Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) from Praiano to Positano. It was an awesome hike with stunning views and we had a great time! I absolutely love this bed and breakfast and will definitely stay here if we come back to Positano. This was by far the dreamiest place we have ever visited and we were so glad that we picked this as the longest leg of our honeymoon. Positano wins over Rome and Florence hands down. B&B Mama Rosa is located in the Montepertuso part of Positano and we reached the B&B via limo service from Naples, which, by the way, was the most beautiful car ride we have ever taken. Take Dramamine if you get sick in windy roads. The B&B is run by a local Italian family (Angelo and Melania--brother and sister duo who were the sweetest hosts ever) who lives just a few steps away. The B&B is basically a two bedroom and two bathroom home. Each room gets their very own bathroom and their own balcony and both are separated so that you can have your privacy. The balcony offers sweeping ocean and mountain views of Positano. Every morning we were served a continental style breakfast: freshly baked croissants, fruit, cheese, muffins, yogurt and most importantly, their amazing cappuccino. I could easily drink liters of that cappuccino if I had no self control. Angelo will also prepare a real Italian meal per your request. We had the best homemade Italian dinner ever. Everything was picked fresh from their organic garden and the ravioli and tagliatelle was made from scratch (check out the pictures I posted). Even the tomatoes they grew and used on the bruschetta was out of this world! I have never tasted anything like it. Everything was extremely clean: bedroom, dining room, kitchen, bathroom. The sheets smelled really fresh and clean. The balcony was my favorite place in the B&B. We left the French doors open to let the sea breeze in while we slept in the comfortable bed. Going to bed with a perfect view of the stars just made our honeymoon so much more romantic. The B&B was so much more nicer than the four star hotel we stayed at in Rome. Even the sheets at Mama Rosa were softer and you can tell it has higher thread count than the ones we slept in Rome! The B&B is a short bus ride away from the Path of the Gods and to the town of Positano. The bus stop is right in front so you don't have to venture far if you needed to go to the Path or if you wanted to go to the beach and enjoy the seaside restaurants. It's fun riding the bus because they drive really fast in those super narrow cliffs. Super exciting! Angelo is super knowledgeable and gave us tips on where to buy our bus tickets, as well as the times that the bus will show up at the stop in front. Fair warning: you have to climb over 200 steps to reach the B&B. Of course Angelo will help you bring your luggage up. He carried our gigantic luggage like the Incredible Hulk and he didn't even break a sweat! You can stop halfway through if you get winded and just look back and admire the amazing view of the ocean and cliff hanging town of Positano. I was huffing and puffing up the steps but it was sooooo worth it! Plus, Angelo treats you to cappuccino and snacks when you get to your room. Another positive note (and personal if I may add...) about this place: Angelo and Melania were sweet enough to call an ambulance for me. I had a medical emergency and had to go to the hospital ASAP. Angelo was kind enough to help the paramedics carry me down the steps and also arrange for a ride back to the B&B once we were done. It was truly a blessing that this family is caring enough to make sure our stay was comfortable, despite the medical emergency. When we got back from the hospital, Angelo and Melania made sure that we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable enough to resume our honeymoon. The next day, Melania came to check up on me which was extremely sweet and made me feel special. I even felt well enough to tackle the Path of the Gods. We stayed for two more nights after my short trip to the ER and they really made us feel right at home. Their customer service and well maintained B&B really made a huge difference for our honeymoon. We are truly thankful that we stayed at their place and hope that we can visit them again someday.

We used a car service to get here, from the road you don't have anything like the view from the B&B. Angelo and his sister were amazing helping us carrying our Goliath sized bags up the dauntingly long steep stairway. Panting we arrived at the top of the stairs and the entry to the B&B (I honestly don't think I had even looked at the view, I was still trying to catch my breath) We were brought to our room which was immaculate with closets any woman would go crazy for. Then Angelo opened the doors out on to the balcony and invited us to sit down and have a glass of water. The view you get from these rooms is SPECTACULAR! There is no other way to put it!! Having the B&B a bit further out of town lets you see it and the coast in all of its glory. Cannot wait to explore the town below and find some amazing food!!

If we were to go back, we would be sure to reserve more time for relaxing on the terrace. Marco, Giacomo, and Pasquale attend to every detail, make fantastic cappuccino, and enjoy practicing their English with guests. The rooms are simple and I do wish they would upgrade, but the terrace and views were enough to compensate. The B&B's location requires a fairly steep walk up a path, but that makes it even more romantic and removed from the city. The brothers can recommend excellent restaurants and can help you figure out public transportation, as you would not want to hike all the way down to Positano and then back up again. Don't forget to try the homemade limoncello - it's a secret family recipe!!

You have to ask for water. I only gave it 2 stars because the location is relatively close to town. You can take a very short bus ride for 1.30€ or a 15min walk down the steps. The wifi doesn't really work and they know it. This is what aggravated us the most. They would turn the router on and off to get us a connection, kicking others off. WTH?! If you want wifi and breakfast, find another place for a bit more or just deal with purchasing and stay at this place.

The staff is extremely accommodating and although check in may only be from 3:00 in the afternoon until eight in the evening they will extend their hours if you give them a call ahead of time and let them know when you will be there. A limited number of suites are available on the side of this Hill so if you're looking for quality and a great view than this is a spot you do not want to pass up. With modern showers and plenty of outlets to recharge your batteries and a patio that looks out on to paradise you will have many a memorable moments both in the bedroom as well as out looking over the Ionian sea. You will be impressed by the simplicity of the Room its furniture the whitewashed walls and ceiling because they're all simply a blank canvas backdrop to what is awaiting you out the window and on your balcony. A private look staring out into the deep turquoise waters as you watch the Sun set in the evening time. If you care to go down closer to the water or to the city center proper then you are mere footsteps away from what seems like a 1000 steps down to the ocean but it's more convenient than other facilities in this area which require a bit more legwork to get to and from the fun things to do in town.

After the coronavirus outbreaks, I was…read moreadvised by multiple medical professionals that travel to Italy during this time would put my elderly and young family members at risk, and have a high likelihood of being quarantined. I also began to contract flu-like symptoms and was asked by my doctor to self quarantine a few weeks before my trip. I contacted Villa Yiara multiple weeks ahead of my reservation requesting a cancellation. I did not want to cancel this trip, and I had no hard feelings. I was open to rebooking. I informed them that not only would I be putting myself at risk, but also the staff and other guests. However, despite me explaining the entire situation, they either ignored my emails, requests, or responded with curt and rude statements. I sent multiple paragraphs about my situation, being as cordial as possible. They simply replied with single word: "rifiutato" which I believe translates to "refused" in Italian. That's it. I can't imagine what it's like to actually stay here that they can't even be bothered to write a full sentence. Probably the worst customer service I've experienced. They make motels feel like the Four Seasons. It is clear they are completely profits driven, only trying to milk tourists with their completely rigid policies. They hide behind inconvenient hours, no responses, and a language barrier as a sad excuse for their lack of hospitality. They also don't bat an eye at the thought of spreading a life threatening infection to their other guests. I'm sure the hotel is beautiful, but the people running it are certainly not.

It was on the second level but the balcony door wouldn't close, so if you're going in super cold or hot months good luck if you have that room We had the double bed city view room I believe for 3-4 days. We didn't get the breakfast and I wouldn't recommend it. You're next to everything so enjoy good from elsewhere. Location: When your uber or car drops you off you'll have to walk a few minutes from the street to get to the bed & breakfast: There's one short flight of stairs to take. If luggage's or heavy it might be a little difficult. There's no one at the inn that can help. Just a really old man. If you ferry in there's luggage helpers down by the fairy and they drive your luggage's up to where you're staying from the ferry. It's a 20 mins walk roughly from where all the hot spots are in Positano. Good to know: You don't actually get to keep your key on you. They take your key every time you leave the hotel / inn. Also, they have a curfew which ends at 1:30 am. The front desk guy also stays there so I think you can call if you get locked out or for an emergency after the curfew starts.

One of the men who worked there helped my grandmother and I with our baggage down the flights of stairs to reach our room. The place is beautiful and has great views of the water and positano. The breakfasts are an upscale continental breakfast but they would bring us ingredients upon request like tomatoes. Every night one of the workers would arrange for a taxi to pick us up and bring us to a delicious restaurant. The place is also a couple hundred steps from the beach, if my 75 year old grandmother could go up and down anyone can :) The AC in the room was great since not many places in Italy have AC. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is about 30 minutes walking from the town of Positano. The owner is a joke, he acts like everything is a chore & he'd rather be drinking beer with his family than lift a finger to help you. When we checked in we didn't realize there are 3 sets of narrow steep stairs you have to drag luggage up & down with zero help from anyone working there. If you are disabled or elderly, it'll be impossible for you to stay there. Our room was awful! It was very small, the bed was really uncomfortable, the drains in the bathroom smelled like raw sewage & the room we had was very dark. There were no windows & the doors were covered by metal shutters that you had to close to lock your room. They let in no light so we couldn't tell what time of morning it was when we woke unless we looked at our phones. There are no clocks in the rooms & our TV didn't work either. We had to walk into town twice because we could not get a taxi out that far. To walk the narrow roads, especially at night is taking your life in your hands. Cars, buses & scooters speed by within inches of you & the smell of exhaust is horrible. We were told a restaurant in town would pick us up if we called, but it was hard to find one & the guy who runs this place offered no suggestions. They offer breakfast for a short time in the morning but all it is is a few pastries, some cereal & coffee and tea. We had been staying in other parts of Italy prior to this dump & everwhere else had great breakfasts. The property is nice, there are lots of plants & flowers and places to sit outside, but we were so disenchanted with the rest of the resort, the guy who runs it & trying to get into town we just didn't enjoy ourselves. Just remember, you get what you pay for!
