This is review is for my conversations with the staff and the owner , not for services rendered…read more I have a dog that needed to be seen by a vet and I knew it would probably be an expensive visit based on what I thought was happening. So I started to research vets in TJ , Mexico because I've heard about some other pet parents traveling down there for more affordable pet care. After researching quite a few , I contacted Vet Playas because based on Yelp they seemed to be at the top of their game compared to all others in that area. They also were open over the weekend and others were not based upon the hours provided. I was contacted by Ron , who I believe is the owner. He let me know that a front desk person would be contacting me shortly. I was contacted via Whats App by the front desk staff and they gave me pricing on all the procedures I'd asked about. The exam is a little less than what the states charge, however all the other procedures were much less expensive than having them done stateside. Ron texted me & then we spoke for a good amount of time going over what might be the issue with my dog and the various procedures that may have to be done to diagnose. He also gave me pricing for all of those things. He was very patient, informative, and not pushy. Thankfully my dog's original issue was resolved so I didn't end up using Vet Playas services. However, I would definitely consider them if I need vet services again based upon my conversation with Ron. I suggest to those that do not speak Spanish well, use a translator when speaking to the other staff so there are no miscommunications. Google has a translator you can enter text in whatever your language is to translate into Spanish and vice versa.

Now I understand why their prices aren't listed. My 13 yr old chihuahua has some bumps and a big mass around her neck. I went in for a check up, at 13 years old I understand her health isn't the best. I made the appt for last wed March 4th. Wait time was normal about 15-20 mins. Th vet was with us maybe 10 mins, the surprising thing is in those 10 mins she took maybe 10-15 coming up with the bill of $16k pesos. The office spent more time calculating the optional services than actually telling me anything that could give my doggie comfort or even suggest anything outside of the ridiculous quote. I truly believe my biggest mistake was telling them I was coming in from Pasadena in case I was a bit late. Outside of the exam which they say was an oncology exam, they did absolutely nothing other than charging me $1000 pesos. Regular exam is between $300-$450 pesos, they also did grooming for $700. That seemed reasonable, even the grooming they did alot more than the Vet did just measuring her lump and rushing to give me the price. The moment I said I didn't want to do the 7-8 different exams the Vet quoted me on because of her age and honestly the cost, she lost interest and pretty much walked out. I thanked them and told myself never to return and will also pass that experience to anyone who asks.

Siempre es difícil llevar a un lugar nuevo a nuestras mascotas, pero tu nos diste mucha confianza desde que te conocimos y por supuesto hiciste un gran trabajo en su baño y corte. Claro que volveremos.

Hi fellow dog lovers. I used this very personal business for my two little ones. I felt she was too much, but she was always answered promptly and sent short videos of them enjoying their stay. One of the dogs developed an ear infection (common for her) while there. I was sent text messages with pictures immediately and Stitxh even cleaned her ears which gave her some relief. Stitch knows his business very well and treated my dogs spectacularly. I had no worries or concerns. Well, maybe a little to get my dog to the vet but she just had dirty ears from the constant hair growth in there. I would highly recommend using this service if you want the best care for your fur babies and want them in capable hands. Was impressed with all the knowledge!

Respondieron todas nuestras preguntas, nos dieron el medicamento necesario y nos explicaron todo de manera muy clara. Review in Spanish under English review:…read more I've said this before and I'll say it again. I appreciate how Dr. Hector has always been incredibly helpful with my dogs. Last week, my bully had an ACL tear, and surgery was the only option to avoid long-term limitations and medication. Even though I live in the Bay Area, I don't mind traveling for non-urgent surgeries because I trust Dr. Hector completely. My dog always heals quickly and well under his care. Dr. Hector provides all necessary medications and is always reachable with the most helpful information. The doctor provides taxi/pick up drop off from and to San Diego.

I immediately gravitated towards her because she had a way of explaining things that made sense to me. We stayed in touch even after puppy graduation and I would text her from time to time to ask questions or stay in touch. I found her on social media and loved her training information. Then when my now 1.5 year old puppy was full grown and became harder to manage we got back in touch and she'd offer suggestions. Finally when she neared the age of 2 I realized I needed professional help Amillie came in and once again explained things even on our first session in a way I could understand and broke down behaviors for me. I actually have 2 giant breed Greater Swiss mountain dogs and she has helped me with training both of them. Mainly frustration reactivity for my younger female "puppy" and then being able to successfully loose leash walk both of them together (2 strong willed and physically strong, with a combined weight of ~200 lb) female dogs. Each time we meet I leave with so much information. She's been great and I only wish we started training them with Amillie when my girls were younger. You won't regret this partnership or Amillie's expertise. Training comes natural to her. It's a gift and that's with me already having had 2 large breed independent dogs before working with her!
